Jason from Central Air Services handled our service call for a thermostat replacement and general inspection of our central air system. We've had an ongoing issue of inconsistent cooling and heating, and the blower not always shutting down. The problem was diagnosed as a short in the system, and it was sourced at the AC condenser. Our decrepit system finally received it's first tune up in over a decade. It obviously appeared to have received a handyman special sometime in the distant past. After removing burnt wiring and electrical tape, Jason went ahead and replaced a string of daisy-chained capacitors with a single unit, and a worn relay. The AC refrigerant received a top off, and a new thermostat was installed. Mister Jason M. did an excellent job. He was definitely a life saver. The job was attended to quickly and done skillfully. One of their workers came to our house and did a great job temporarily fixing our unit. We knew that we needed to replace our HVAC system, so we finally did so last month. We interviewed three companies, including Central Air Services, who beat the competitors by offering a new HVAC system for thousands of dollars less than the other estimates. I called Wednesday 4/22/26 to have refrigerent pressure checked. I knew it was low because I've had to have it recharged every couple of years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Christina said she could have a tech here within an hour and then Justin arrived.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Since my air was 28 yrs old and the gas furnace was the original from 1980 I was also interested in a quote for a total replacement. He gave me a quote for a 2 speed Lennox A/C & Gas Heat system that came much lower than I expected! I told him, no need for service, I'll go withe the new system (Lennox). Jason and Juan came out today to figure out what was wrong with our furnace. Jason gave a courtesy call 1/2 an hour before to let me know that they were on their way. Love how they were on time and wear shoe coverings when entering the house. Jason listened carefully to my description of the problem. They quickly and efficiently determined the cause, some debris got into the system that shouldn't be there which prevented the furnace from functioning. Central Air Services did an absolutely amazing job for us! We started with the normal routine of putting in for quotes for a new HVAC system since our 30+ year old unit was no longer up to the task of cooling our home. We have a bonus room we spend most of our time in and the add on does not have much insulation in the roof (new roof coming next :) ) It's always been a nightmare to keep this room cool in the summer and warm in the winter as the temperature tends to dissipate easily. We had several companies come out and give us quotes with suggestions of ways to deal with our problem. Some of the companies just wanted to oversize the unit as their solution but Kevin and his crew did some actual engineering. Increasing the size of the ducting and the register to our bonus room as well as adding a secondary return to intake more air at the unit in the hall. They also increased the tonnage a full ton beyond what the others quoted all at less of a price than we expected. We opted to add in the UV filtering as well as an upgraded filter (we have allergies and sinus issues and this has proven to be big help!). Christina was our contact that kept us informed on who was coming when and getting things set up. She handled the scheduling, was pleasant to deal with and very knowledgeable in answering any questions we had over phone. They came out at 9 am and had the entire job finished, the installation, hook up and testing of the new units by 5 pm. They took apart the old unit and hauled off the remains. Such an awesome company! I was turned down by 4 different companies due to complex and notorious AC/Heat set up we have in the condo. As soon as the vendors heard the name of the complex I live in, I was told, "we don't service your area" First visit: After talking to the neighbor, I finally got to meet Central Air service team. Kevin, the owner came out explained what was wrong with the system and it was beyond repair. During the visit, he did not try to up sell and was very genuine. He did the math and explained why we need such system to support the needs and also based on the square footages. He found a middle ground that will fit the needs. Installation: Kevin, Justin, Jason, and Jeremy arrived out right on time. Christina gave me a call about 30 minutes prior to their arrival and let me know of ETA. All of them were very courteous, polite, and cared for our home. They had shoe covers on and had vinyl covered the floor, furnitures, doors, etc. These guys handled and installed everything with care. They made sure none of their materials or tools were being thrown around nor laid on top of the bare floor. I have seen other vendors simply do not care for other's home. Whenever I asked questions, they stopped what they were doing and actively paid attention to my needs. The installation took about 2 days. At the end of each day, team cleaned up and vacuumed every corner they worked on. Previous set up: 3 tons unit: more than 20 years old 2 tons air handler which had a leak of Freon: Installed more than 30 years ago New: 3 tons unit, brand new Lennox with 16 seer 3 tons air handler: custom made * Follow up: Kevin made several calls to ensure I am happy with the outcome and also went through the entire process again to help me understand better. The difference is night and day. I could barely feel the air blowing from my previous set up. Now the new system is kicking some air! I didn't get a chance to ask about their company's mission statement or core values but I think 'Teamwork', 'Customer service', 'Courteous' would definitely fit them. If you are in doubt or even just have a simple question, I would give Central Air a call. I think I found a hidden gem when it comes to HVAC matters. *Air handler had to be custom ordered due to its location and size. Central Air Services did an outstanding job on my new Lennox 3 ton system. In the middle of a heat wave, my 27 year old system was through and naturally it goes out on the hottest day of the year. I called 7 AC companies and Central Air Services was the only company to promptly return my call. Christina called me back and kept me informed every step of the way, outstanding customer service. They had a technician out the next day and confirmed exactly what I expected, the old Sears Kenmore unit was not worth trying to repair. Several days ago I made an appointment with Christina at Central Air Services to have our A/C and furnace checked out. Central Air Services installed a new A/C and furnace in May 2019. It has not given us any problems, but 4 years is a long time to not have mechanicals looked at. So I called and Jason came out and was here more than an hour. He cleaned the furnace out, tested the thermostat and did a very complete cleaning of the A/C. I was thinking that after all this time I might be low on Freon, but no. Jason put the measurement tool to work and it showed my Freon levels were still very good! So after 4 years the units that they installed in May 2019 ARE STILL RUNNING LIKE A TOP. When we bought our house, we knew that we would have to change the HVAC system. The furnace, which was 40 years old and was a lennox, finally stopped working and we knew the time has come to get a couple of estimates. Changing the whole HVAC system including ducts is a big and intimidating project especially for first time homeowners like us. We did as much research as we could, ask a couple of homeowners and finally called about 5 companies for an estimate- which all had 5 star yelp ratings. We chose Central Air services because Kevin was very meticulous when he was assessing our house. He went in the attic, took notes, took pictures...he really took his time. He answered all our questions and gave us options. And the most important part - he did not try to upsell. Out of all the estimates I received, he was the only one who didn't try to sell us other stuff (maintenance service, purifiers, bigger filters etc). Their price was very very reasonable. Their office manager Christina is very responsive too. She will get back with you ASAP if you need a copy of your estimate or invoice and if you need to talk to kevin , she will make sure it happens! Our heat went went out on a system that was installed in 2013. Things being as they are, I was expecting to wait for service, and a huge repair bill, NOT. Central air came out the next day, quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and then stayed and tested the system to be sure it worked correctly. We have a Lennox variable speed, it keeps our house within a degree of target temp -it's amazing! 1st incident: thermostat turned off Kevin got someone quickly to us and after troubleshooting we needed a new thermostat; which would take about 3 days to get. What was amazing is Kevin & Jason installed (jimmy rigged it) a spare thermostat he had in the truck to keep temp at 75 degrees. What service!!! 2nd incident: AC not working Of course this happens during a heat wave, and thus a busy time for Kevin. Our home is on the outer limits of Kevin's service area. At this time he didn't have any jobs by us and wasn't sure he could make it out. However, Kevin was able to send Jason out, who did an amazing job! We ended up needing a new circuit board; which Kevin suspected based on the uncommon weird error codes and sent one out with Jason. That's planning ahead!!! Parts were covered under warranty and Kevin's labor charges were more than fair, especially for squeezing us in last minute both times!! Business owners like Kevin are RARE!! 10/03 Update - Labor Day long weekend TL;DR - Kevin drove from Arizona to fix my broken AC on a Labor Day weekend when his business was closed My AC unit broke down on the Friday of the Labor Day long weekend. I didn't realize something was wrong until Saturday. Temperature was in triple digits already and is expected be this high until Wednesday. It was the long weekend already, so moving fast was critical. Saturday noon, I got another technician to come down and take a look. After he quoted me upwards of $1100, I frantically called Central Air Services looking for warranty information. Kevin called me back promptly and when I missed his call, sent me a text explaining that the unit was still under warranty. He was in Arizona but during our phone call, he promised to make the drive the following morning to fix the unit. His team arrived as promised (in fact they arrived earlier), fixed the AC, checked everything and even replaced my air filter for free. I offered Kevin a $120 token of appreciation, but he denied that. I don't think I can ever have better customer experience than this. They serviced and tuned up our air conditioning unit. Cleaned out the lines and checked the fluid and the burners. Measured the air temp., both cooling and heating. Cleaned the units.
