I spoke with Barbara and I let her know my situation that I had two mini split units that needed a deep cleaning ASAP because I noticed mold was inside the units. Barbara confirmed with the technician and was able to set up appointment for same day with a small waiting window from 2pm-4pm! Other companies were giving me long waiting windows on when they might show up. I also love that she was able to give me an upfront price on servicing my two units!! Daniel and Eric were the two technicians that came out to service my units. Daniel was very knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. I explained the situation with the units and he was confident that he would fix the situation. Before he started, he let me know what he was going to do to deep clean the units and remove the mold and gave me another option just in case it didn't work. Over the past 3 years, my central heating has been slow to start. And this fall, it wasn't turning on at all. I contacted Goldbaums's after I had two unsatisfactory experiences with one A/C & Heating company (very popular) in Whittier and a general handyman. Neither of the two could fix the issues. In fact, the first company upsold me on something else. I was skeptical, thinking no one would be able to figure out the issues. Thankfully, I was proven wrong. When I contacted Goldbaum's, I was offered an appointment very quickly. Daniel came out and figured out that my heating flap vent (not the technical term) wasn't opening and needed to be replaced. Diagnosed my problem immediately and offered repair. He did not even try to upsell me on a new system but I knew my system was old (21 years). When my heater stopped blowing heat, I contacted "Wintri" and their service guy first insulted me by saying only people in mobile homes would have a system like I had, then told me I needed a new heater system at a cost of 7K, he then said I could just get a new motherboard, at a cost of $1,600. I was skeptical... So I called Goldbaums. The repairman came out and in a couple minutes solved the issue by noticing that a rat had chewed up a pressure hose to the motor, he fixed it and now I have heat again. True pro! Highly recommended. Very happy new customer here! So, I was very anxious about selecting an HVAC vendor for my parents' home. I was looking to replace four very old mini-splits with either central AC or a new ductless system. Both of my parents recently passed away, and this was the first big change I was making to their house, so I wanted a vendor who would treat the space with care and do great work. I was very impressed with Goldbaum from the start. Victor Goldbaum Jr. arrived EXACTLY on-time to tour my home and give me a quote. He was friendly and very courteous, even wearing shoe covers when he came inside. He explained my options clearly and didn't pressure me. It turned out that the house doesn't have enough attic space to install a central (duct) system. A new ductless system was my best choice. So the next day, he emailed me a quote to install a new system with six units and two condensers. I got three quotes total. Goldbaum's was in the middle with pricing. I had one quote that was about $5K less and one quote that was $10K more! I considered going with the cheaper vendor, but I was really impressed by Victor's knowledge and reliability, so I chose Goldbaum. He scheduled the job for the next week and said it would take three days. In fact, he finished it in just two days, ahead of schedule! He brought a big crew, and they worked hard, and he personally was there overseeing the work both days. There was only one unexpected issue with the installation (the copper lines from my old system needed to be replaced). This raised the price a bit, but Victor explained why it was necessary, and it made sense, given that the old lines were over 25 years old. I am SO happy with the result! The new system (Dyken) is SO quiet, and Goldbaum made all the needed changes to my electrical panel and installed drains. Victor even stayed late to explain how to operate the new system and to ensure I was happy. His crew patched the walls, too! Many HVAC companies won't do that, and then you have to hire a handyman separately. Honestly, they left my place so spotless that you wouldn't even know I had any work done. My home is now cool, comfortable, and summer-ready (and the units also provide heat for the winter!). If you're an anxious consumer (like I am) looking to repair or replace your HVAC system, I highly recommend placing your trust in Goldbaum. I'm so glad I did! read more

Slightly late to review... first of all, Goldbaums is legit. I say legit because we don't know our ways around HVAC very well and was afraid of being overcharged or replacing parts unnecessarily. Our AC stopped blowing cold air and the diagnosis was a potential leakage in the evaporator coil. We shared our situation with an acquaintance who knows more about the HVAC system than us and he agreed with the diagnosis. Given it happened in the middle of summer heat we couldn't afford to have 2 weeks downtime for repair (will have to repair in the winter), the technician stopped by in a very timely fashion to fill up our freon. He knew what he was doing and patiently offered thorough explanations on the cause of leakage and answered our questions. Goldbaums is timely and reliable with excellent communications.
