Edgar Valenzuela came out for a complimentary service, in less than 5 min he was able to deduce that we needed $3500 worth of parts and labor before the compressor went out and we had to replace the whole unit. I've utilized MSP for maintenance of my old ac but I knew eventually we would need to replace it due to its age. This year we had to replace after ours finally died (well, blew up) MSP came out quickly and gave me several options to replace our ac unit. I also knew our water heater was going out so they bundled the ac and water heater and had everything installed and usable in one weekend. They had financing options which is great because these are big ticket items to replace. They were reasonable and included a maintenance plan with our purchase which is a great savings for us. The first time, the technician had placed a sticker on our AC unit, so when cold air stopped flowing this time, it was easy to call them. The process was effortless: customer service answered right away, their system recognized my address from my phone number, and within an hour (on a Sunday evening!) they dispatched two technicians. I also appreciated getting a text notification with their names and photo IDs so I knew exactly who was coming. I appreciated that she didn't get defensive, but instead valued our input and honored our trust. Finally, I want to applaud MSP for the way they treat their employees. All four team members who helped us mentioned how much they enjoy working there, and it shows in the quality of their work. On top of that, we were thrilled to learn that the X Series unit we purchased is the kind of product that could be sold at a much higher rate through a corporate AC company (according to one technician who used to work at a corporate), but MSP offered it at a fair and reasonable price. It was time for our annual HVAC visit from MSP and I had also asked if our tech could take a look at our mini split, which wasn't cooling. Edgar V. arrived and quickly completed a thorough inspection of our total HVAC system and also our mini split. We were impressed to see that he even wanted to look at our attic to see our air ducts, especially since our home was built in the 50s and we have had our allergies flare up over the past few years. Edgar suggested that we replace our air ducts with ducts that are covered with Mylar as well. He also pointed out that our old ducts are no longer sealed well and there is dust in our home as a result. Next his supervisor, Brett H., came out and gave us an estimate following his review. He was willing to work with us on a great price which included the repair of our mini split, which wasn't installed incorrectly without warranty by someone we knew(big mistake). After we worked out the price, Brett had the team within MSP out at our home the next day. These four guys got to work and completed everything within 3 hours. Now our HVAC unit will last longer b/c it's not working as hard to move air through the ducts. Also, they now have our mini split covered correctly to protect our lines and it's cooling so well! My 4-year-old HVAC unit was not responding to the thermostat, so I called HSP Heating & AC in Riverside for a diagnosis because they had the most 4+ reviews. The technician who arrived was courteous and claimed to have been with the company for six years. He seemed knowledgeable about his craft. I did some research prior to the service call and told the technician that it could be the safety switch that might have tripped. After spending a few minutes inspecting the unit, he confidently stated that the module was dead and that the builder had failed to install a surge protector which caused it to blow out. He then pulled out his phone and showed me the cost of a replacement module board, which would have been US$3,000, plus an additional US$500 to install a surge protector. As he was coming down from the attic, where my HVAC unit is located, he tripped, causing his metal ladder to hit the drywall, leaving a noticeable deep dent and several scratches, which they fixed the next day. I asked if he was okay, and he assured me he was fine. Before leaving, I gave him a tip, and he turned around and offered me a 15% discount, bringing the total cost down to US$2,550. I did the math and was sold on the offer since US$2,550 was far more manageable than the original US$3,500 he quoted. I was about to schedule the service when I decided to check if my fairly new unit was still under warranty--which it was. A week later, a technician from the manufacturer's distributor came and was able to get my HVAC running again by simply turning on the safety switch. There was nothing wrong with the module board. Had I gone with HSP, I would have unnecessarily spent $2,550. While I wanted to give the first technician the benefit of the doubt, the reality proved otherwise. It was disappointing! Angel came through on the same day call, which I had been delaying for sometime, but they were patient even with my repeat calls. I liked the text message updates and eventual photo of the tech that would be coming in to check out our situation. Angel was speedy in his analysis and explained everything thoroughly to me and to my partner when he got home at a later time as well. We were on priority for the next day service since we were without air. Same situation when the two arrived early next day with the same text prompt and finished within the expected time. Instead of giving me that basic information, they immediately asked for my full name, address, and whether I was the owner of the home. After I provided everything, I told them I was the tenant--not the owner. Only then did they respond that they couldn't even make me an appointment because I'm not the owner. If that's their policy, they should have told me up front instead of making me hand over all my personal information first. This place is definitely a SCAM. My AC broke so I called them due to their high reviews. They quoted me $1800 to get the AC running but they said that's just putting a bandage on it. They said I could replace some parts for $5500 but recommended replacing the whole unit for I'm guessing a lot more money. I told them I would think about it. After they left we called in another company, they fixed the issue for $250. My AC is now running just fine and only cost me 250 VS the 1800 or 5500+ MSP quoted me. STAY AWAY FROM THEM read more

i had a problem with my a/c blowing fuses. it would run for an hour or so then blow a fuse. Kevin and Angel came out to take a look. they identified that the fuse box was burnt up and need replacing. one of the main line terminals on the fuse block was burnt and broken. from this they said it would be a compressor issue causing the fuse and fuse block to burn up, and that would be $5000 to replace. i suggested that possibly the terminal was loose, corroded or just a bad connection causing the terminal to heat up, burn the fuse block and cause the fuse to blow due to the excessive heat. they said no, it's definitely the compressor. i asked if they can test and they said it would be a fire hazard, so no. i then asked, ok, $5000 for everything? which turned into, well you would also need to change the coils in the attic too, so it will be $10,000 total. i said no thanks and goodbye. on the positive side, they did show up on time, they were very polite and friendly. they didn't charge me for the call out, which i appreciated. I called an electrician out to take a look at the fuse box and he said it was very possible that a bad connection causing excessive heat could cause the fuse to blow. he bypassed the fuses to test the a/c unit and it was running normally with the current below rated current. he changed out the fuse box and saved me $10,000. I don't know whether it's a lack of experience or wanting to make an easy sale with little work. or maybe i'm just too old and used to a time when technicians but some effort into troubleshooting to fix the real problem and not just sell a new one. read more

My AC works ok but it was giving issues in some days, it will just shutoff even before blowing cool air but only in some days.
