When we started having issues with our brand new (as in just a little over a year old) system and the HVAC company who installed it was just not willing (or more like not capable) to go over and beyond to diagnose the real issue (there's a whole back story to this!) and decided to drop us like a hot potato, I knew we needed a new HVAC person. Went to Yelp and blasted out our needs. HVAC and Chill was the very first to respond. I was on the phone with Crystal who was very nice snd accommodating and assured me that they were an honest, family-owned business. She scheduled for someone to come the next day between 9AM and 11AM. The next day, I get a call from Chris around 8AM saying he was on his way and that he will be arriving in about 20 mins. True enough, he was at our front door at his promised arrival time and immediately went to work to diagnose the issue of our system (something our previous HVAC people didnt even do. They only suggested to replace the thermostat--- which was brand spanking new, btw). While performing the diagnostic, he found that our previous HVAC people didn't even wire our thermostat correctly (not the main issue but still!). He also concluded that the wiring of our system was just too old and was causing the short on the Y1 wire (hence our A/C just shutting off intermittently). He couldn't believe that our previous HVAC guys installed a brand new system and didnt take advantage of that fact that our walls were all wide open during the renovation. They should have replaced all the old wiring! He also offered to give a piece of his mind to our old HVAC peeps for not properly wiring the connections to our thermostat. I mean, you would think that wiring to the thermostat would be something BASIC! After diagnosing the issue, he said another tech named Mike would be coming in the afternoon to do the fix needed. He left and texted me updates as to when Mike would be arriving. Half an hour prior to arriving, Mike texts me his ETA. Again, arrived on time, with a big smile on his face, very courteous and went immediately to work. He asked me our preference on certain things and explained what he was working on. He even have tips to my husband to better take care of our unit. After replacing all the old wiring and installing the thermostat in a new area (no walls needed to be opened like what our previous HVAC guys suggested!), he stayed and tested everything thoroughly and made sure everything was working fine before he left. And the price quoted for the job? VERY FAIR AND REASONABLE! Oh my goodness, this experience made me believe that there ARE competent AND honest workers out there. What Chris and Mike don't know is how they made our lives much easier as we have a severely autistic 15 year old who doesn't understand that the A/C is not working and would just get quite aggressive when he's uncomfortable. Now we don't have to worry about him. If you need an HVAC person for whatever project or problems you have, look no further and give these guys a call. I submitted a service request on Yelp, and within minutes Chris personally called me. It wasn't an automated system, a scheduling service, or an AI assistant--it was Chris himself. He was able to fit me into his schedule the very next morning between 7:00 and 9:00 AM, confirmed the appointment by text, and even gave me a courtesy call about 30 minutes before arriving. Chris showed up right at 7:30 AM, and by 7:40 he had already diagnosed the problem and explained the solution. In less than 30 minutes from the time he arrived, my AC was blowing cold air again. What impressed me most wasn't just how quickly he fixed the issue--it was his honesty and integrity. With temperatures as hot as they've been, I was fully prepared to pay whatever it took to get my AC working again. My AC was on its last leg. A friend recommended Chris over the preferred vendors at his company. I sent Chris a message and he responded within 10 minutes. He offered to have someone there the next day. I told him I wasn't available, but the next day would do. Lo and behold my AC died that next day. I told Chris about what was going on and he had Eddie show up promptly at 8 AM the next day to sort out the issue. The motor in my compressor finally croaked. (My unit was 16 yrs old. It was time). Eddie offered to replace the motor right then and there. After thinking about it, and talking with Eddie about the condition of the rest of the components, we got Chris on the line to discuss options on a new unit. We discussed energy efficiency w/ solar vs costs. I felt zero pressure to buy any particular unit since I felt they were presenting me the facts and letting me make my own informed decision on what was best for us and what I knew I could afford. After deciding, Eddie and Chris rolled back out the next morning to install the new unit. Chris and Eddie were very polite and very easy to talk to. They were very conscious and considerate of our home and flooring as they brought equipment through the house and into the attic in our bedroom closet. They got the system up and running.
