We recently worked with The AC Doctor, and we couldn't be happier! Daniel was our main contact, and he was very communicative, quick to respond, knowledgeable, and patient. He took the time to thoroughly explain our air conditioning options, which helped us make the best decision for our home. We ended up replacing a 30-plus-year-old system with all-new, larger ducts and a four-ton heat pump system that is energy efficient. The installation also included a smart thermostat, a new condenser, and all-new registers throughout the house. Best of all, Daniel and his crew completed the entire job in just one day! They were extremely respectful of our home, worked efficiently, and made sure to thoroughly clean up all materials. They also took away the entire old system. Daniel and his crew had fantastic "can do" attitudes, which made our experience so much better. All of Daniel's promises were kept, and we found their rates to be very competitive--among the highest quality in the home improvement trades we've worked with. Daniel clearly knows everything about the AC business and industry. We highly recommend The AC Doctor for any air conditioning or heating needs. If you want expert service and a crew that gets the job done quickly and right, call them!

Top notch company! Daniel came out to my parents house, and took care of their problem quick! He actually arrived on time, gave us a quote and had the part on his truck. There's new carpet in the home, and he had his shoe covers on before we could even ask! This company knows how to treat their customers! He was our second quote, diddnt try to hard sell, and beat the other company by a ton. He even cleaned up the unit and wires left messy from other companies over the years. I highly recommend the A/C dr, and ask for Daniel!!

We hired the AC doctor when our AC unit stopped working. We received multiple quotes and met multiple companies and Daniel was the one that made us feel completely comfortable and at ease. We were nervous because it's a large purchase. Daniel answered every question and constantly made us feel like we could ask more if need be. He also taught us a lot about our AC unit that we didn't even know and functions we weren't using correctly. We purchased a new AC unit and furnace. He was able to schedule his crew within a couple days even being during the holidays. Everything was installed within A few hours and they left my home clean. Another company that had come out to give me a quote went into my attic and got insulation all over my walk-in closet and clothing. Daniel put on protective booties over his shoes when he came into my home every time and put a drop cloth down before going into the attic with the insulation. Highly recommend this company And Daniel will be our AC service technician from here on out!

What should have been a straightforward thermostat reinstallation and programming job turned into a nearly week-long ordeal defined by poor communication, lack of preparation, and zero follow-through. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was thorough. I mentioned the building is two storeys and that the technician would likely need a long ladder to access the rooftop compressors. I also specifically requested to be contacted directly if anything changed or if unexpected costs came up. Simple enough, right? The day of the appointment, the technician was scheduled to arrive between 10 and 12 PM. By noon, no one had shown up and no one had called. I reached out myself, only to be told he was running late on another job and wouldn't arrive until 2 PM at the earliest. A courtesy call would have gone a long way. Instead, I sat waiting with no update whatsoever. When he finally arrived, there was no direct communication from him either. I had to ask my tenant to pass along a message to have him call me. He confirmed the issue was exactly what I had described when booking: a thermostat that needed to be reprogrammed and rewired. Progress, finally. Or so I thought. A short while later, my tenant informed me the technician had left without completing the job. The reason? He hadn't brought a long enough ladder to access the roof, the very thing I had flagged when I made the appointment. The next day came and went. No technician, no call, no update. I later learned he was unwilling to go onto the roof without a second technician for safety reasons, a policy I can respect, but one that should have been communicated to me immediately and not left to surface on its own. By Friday, I called customer service to get answers. I was told they'd call me back once they heard from the technician. Three hours passed and nothing. I called again. Same answer. Hours later, I called a third time. Still the same response. I eventually gave up, called another company, and they resolved the issue the very next day. As of writing this review, I still haven't received a single callback. Not an apology, not an explanation, not even an acknowledgment that any of this happened. At this point, the message is loud and clear: they simply don't need your business. And after this experience, they won't be getting mine.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

THOROUGH EVALUATION We met with the following specialists: SEAN O'HARA (AC repair) - AC stopped emitting cool air. Fixed issue w/ filter repair. ALFRED BIRNHAUPL (AC leak repair) - Fixed pipe leak from AC and completed comprehensive assessment of our dysfunctional zoning system. DOMENICK ALONGE (project manager) - Reviewed findings from Alfred, provided detailed indication of issues and resolution options with several quotes. Here's why our experience has been superior to previous companies: All three specialists were not only punctual, friendly, and courteous, but they took their time to evaluate our issues in CLEAR layman terms corroborated by photos, and showing us exactly where the problems were in person. We previously obtained a quote from a large corporate company and was left feeling dumbfounded and stressed as they described the nature of our problem in engineering, technical jargon that made absolutely no sense, including astronomical quotes without explanation of the work entailed. We continued experiencing intermittent issues with our AC and heater so we called Friends & Family based on their excellent reviews. This time around, with Friends & Family, we left feeling knowledgeable and reassured, with reasonable quotes including various discount eligibility. We didn't feel pressured by them to choose one route vs. the other; rather, gained the information we needed to make an informed decision that would prevent such issues in the future. Overall, their attention to detail, ability to explain the issues and resolution routes in simple, concrete terms, were far superior than the preceding company. They exceeded our expectations and we much appreciated their patience and openness to answering all our questions. I also want to mention that I was gardening when SEAN was fixing our AC. He saw me struggling to dig a hole for my plant and volitionally offered to help me. He took the extra time to dig the hole for me, exemplifying his genuine kindness and generosity! Similarly, my kids were running amuck and screaming and shouting while I attempted to maintain a conversation with ALFRED. He was very understanding and continued to engage in conversation, appearing unbothered by the chaos with a pleasant disposition. Lastly, DOMENICK was appointed on the day of our son's birthday. He related to us interpersonally and even helped assemble my son's new Radio Flyer bike! I told him that Sean also helped me garden and we laughed about how Friends & Family is a "one-stop shop." Given everything I mentioned, we're excited to have our overdue AC/heater system fully repaired by Friends & Family. We can't wait for our longstanding issues to be behind us, and we anticipate leaving an updated review once the work is complete!

My air conditioner went out years ago and they changed it out. At the time they also wanted to do my furnace I told them no which my furnace was still good for another couple years and then they came back changed a part on it saving me a little money but the. It went out so I had to shell up the big bucks for it. The value here I do think is better than other places but I wish they would work on the upsell a little bit because times are tough and we don't need that but I do trust this company for things I do need.

This review is for the customer service and possible discrimination…read more I used the company website to book two separate maintenance services for my primary home and a rental I own. I was requested to provide a credit card for the rental without even knowing what the services or costs would entail, so I refused to provide one and they just didn't show up for either of the scheduled services, nor provided a courtesy call. This morning, I tried to schedule a service again for my primary home (not the rental), and while there were available times on the website, I received a call demanding a credit card again saying my address was linked to a rental. I restated multiple times that the service I was requesting was NOT for the rental and the lady kept bringing up the rental. She finally said she would 'redflag' the rental address, schedule me for my primary home and would check to see if there were available times. She came back in 2 seconds and said there were no available times that she would place me on a waitlist. I informed her there were still slots listed on her website, and she said they are all gone now. I just went back to the company's website scheduling portal and they have several openings as early as 3/6. I feel this lady is discriminating against me or wanting to commit fraud by demanding a credit card without even quoting me on anything or getting details on the service requested. I am deeply disappointed and would caution people from soliciting services from this company. I had been receiving the company's flyer for over a year now and was finally excited to call because of the reviews and pricing listed on flyer. I am shocked at the lady who schedules and the demands for a credit card only to me. I had someone else try to schedule and a credit card was not demanded. I will take my business elsewhere.
