I want to thank Jon and the team at Metz Air Control for making things right. I had an issue with my AC freezing and there was some confusion about what was included in my VIP Membership. Their website listed evaporator coil cleaning as included, but the office said it was extra. I sent a screenshot, Jon personally responded, thanked me for catching the error, said they would fix the website, and honored it at no extra charge. Our A/C was on its last legs. I asked a trusted friend if he could recommend a company to replace our HVAC system (we've had heating issues in the past as well) and he recommended Metz. I usually get 3 quotes for big budget items but after seeing their reviews and customer comments, we decided just to go with Metz. They were willing to send someone out the next day which was a Saturday, but I said we could limp along until the following week, so they scheduled someone to come out on Tuesday. Over the weekend our system stopped cooling so when Cris from Metz showed up on Tuesday, we had no A/C during the worst heat wave of the summer. He provided a quote for a complete replacement HVAC system that was reasonable and said they could do the work 2 days later on Thursday. Today (Thursday) Jacob and Adam came out and installed the new system. They did a very professional job during a hot and muggy day. Everything they provided and did was top notch. We made a huge investment that took a huge leap of faith in trusting the Metz tech's recommendation. We decided on two new compressors and two new A/C units. A/C units in the attic and compressors on the rooftop. No easy feat, but the crew made it appear easy by their confidence and orchestration. Always calm. The crew of: Mario, Nate, Murray, and Johnny were warm, polite, and professional from the start (an early one). The techs were respectful to the property - inside and out and in our interactions. Impressively, they were also kind to one another. They worked well together which put me at ease with their presence and with their quality of work. I saw them as a team. This team, multiple times, offered to answer any questions I had over their extremely long workday. They never seemed rushed nor bothered. The guys made certain the system was running properly. I was given a thermostat tutorial. In addition, they took turns explaining the breaker system, the use of the fan, the odor from the heater, and the folder of organized papers for my records. The Metz team was thorough - from beginning to end. From cleaning my attic entry/exit and surrounding area to not leaving a trace of their presence in my yard or driveway. A team that I would recommend. A team that started strong; and 11.5 hrs later, cared to finish strong. Spending the day at home and spending the amount of money felt easier...not only for the end result of air conditioning and heating...but for the feeling of trust the team built. This morning we had our AC Unit inspection, our technician Cris Dulay arrived, on time and ready to work. He immediately got to work inspected our unit, washed the outside unit, changed the filter, and did a complete inspection. All was clear, and we are ready for the change in season. I was pleased to see he also sent us recommendations for features to protect and enhance our air conditioning unit. No sales pressure, no big presentation on the features, just the facts. Shame on ME! I have been using Metz for almost 8 years, I should have known they were UPSELLING me every SINGLE time. I would call to get the annual service to keep my A/C in good shape, but I would always need a part sometimes a small part. A couple of times I would ask when they first arrived PLEASE DO NOT TRY to sell me anything I just want the tune-up. Then last year it was a major repair, even though everything was working fine, they said the blower was about to go, I trusted them. So I replaced the blower. This week I got my annual tune-up, the A/C was working perfectly. The technician, Cris, gave me a list of problems, and the fixes would range in price from $800 to 2900 for the best! Well I wanted to wait on that. He said he was going to clean the unit (he did not) and he left. I decided to get a second opinion. Guess what, I showed the list of "problems" to the technician and he went one by one and showed me the readings on his meter and every single one was perfectly within range of the manufacturer recommendation. There is NOTHING wrong with my A/C. METZ oversells, the technicians are on commission which is fine but should be more honest about it. Again my fault for trusting them for so long but NEVER again. The new company technician, commented that my A/C needed to be cleaned on the inside so he took it upon himself and gave it a nice cleaning which Cris supposedly did. read more

I have been using and happy with Metz Air Control for the past three years. Todays AC tune-up performed by technician Cris Dulay, was no exception. He was prompt, courteous and thorough in his work. He recommended a few additional services, but in no way was aggressive or hard pressuring towards me having them performed. He added refrigerant and did an acid was on my outside condenser coils, as they had accumulated quite a bit of dust and grime. I called Mertz in January for maintenance service. Chris the technician came out and introduced himself very friendly. He immediately went to the heating system to check it out. Found some issues with some of the heating system . He advised us that the heating system was rusting and needed to be replaced. He did say we could wait or replace. We decided to go ahead and replace all the issues that Chris found. Metz was able to give us an appointment two days later. We had two technicians arrived and they introduced themselves and immediately went to work replacing all the necessary rusted heating system. It was a four hour job and they were able to finish it the same day. Both technicians were very courteous and they cleaned up any mess. I would definitely refer Metz to other people. We have worked with Metz for over 20 years and updated our A/C Heating last week with a new system. Jorge installed and updated our system back in 2005, he came out for an annual service check last week and noticed a problem with the AC leaking with signs of water around the unit inside the house and rust inside the AC component. I trust Jorge and he explained why after 20 years it may be time to replace the system. Cost was under $10K 20 years ago and now it's over $20K but we got 20 years of service out of the old unit. He was able to set up an installation within 5 days. The installers were Max and Chris. Both highly qualified and spent the time necessary for a thorough installation... all day, including going under the house via a crawl space to update wiring. Both guys were very professional doing extra detail with a new vent and caulking it for a clean look. Upon completion they cleaned up, including vacuuming my garage, and explained how the new system works. Had our AC go out on the hottest weekend of the summer! On Monday Hayden came within the 12pm-4pm window (3:11) Turned out to be a fuse. We have the SCEdison remote shutoff box which was apparently activated on Friday. When the AC came back on that evening, it blew the fuse. Hayden explained that the Edison box is hard on the AC system when it powers backup. Because our AC is only a couple of years old he recommended installing a "Hard Start" kit (circuit board) which would reboot the system in steps) Because we want the unit to last a long, long time we added that bit of insurance. Hayden a great job of explaining things (with no pressure) and had everything up and running quickly. Metz is a great company with great people! read more
