My A/C was blowing warm air. I put in a call to my home warranty company and Smartchoice was the company that would provide the service. I called the company at about 9a and spoke with Oscar. I was fortunately able to get same day service and given a window period of 10a-2p. You receive a text when the technician is close. Sergei arrived between 11:30 and noon. He quickly found the problem to be the "Run Capacitor". It was replaced, he ran the system and my home was cool again. I even received a follow-up call from Oscar checking to make sure all was well. The technician Sergei was knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely refer this company to family and friends that need services they provide. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I will be letting my neighbors and anyone else I know to not use them if they don't want to be on the verge of an anxiety attack. I will be leaving this review on Google and anywhere else possible, so people have a full view of what to expect with this company. Never have I been treated so horribly by a company and this is coming from someone who has worked in customer service. Safia or Sophia will gaslight you beyond belief and Oscar is sexist, rude and will question your intelligence. You won't be able to get a hold of customer service unless you call between 5- 20 times in a row. My number was actually blocked from their sales line even though they claim it is not, as of this review I only receive a message that the number isn't available, and it hangs up automatically. I tried the same number on a different phone, and it went through to some immediately. I went through our warranty, who has been fantastic and very communicative (First American Home Warranty is amazing), and from scheduling the repair to our evaporator coil to now trying to verify what services are actually needed has been absolute hell. The tech, Edward, has been informative and I hold no blame on him. He took accurate measurements of the drip pan and sent to his supervisor and the company sent the wrong size; this was a week wasted after being under the impression the evaporative coil was going to be replaced. Go figure, the pan did not fit and now the warranty is covering a new evaporator coil but there are a number of new non-covered costs that were not mentioned and even after confirming to customer service (when able to get a hold of them) and with the tech, are still being included in Smart Choice's report to my warranty. With the evaporator being 100% covered somehow it is now double the original out of pocket cost. And today I spoke with Oscar in customer service. I am a person who usually makes these calls for myself and other people and have even worked in customer service myself and Oscar takes the cake. He was rude not even trying to get my information to open my case, he was sexist and had the audacity to question my intelligence. This was the call the pushed me over the edge and almost triggered an anxiety attack I got off the phone so mad. As of now I am waiting to hear back about verifying costs and the issue has not been resolved. I am slightly concerned that posting this review may end up having my repair delayed in retaliation but am willing to risk that so no one else has to go through what I have. All in all, tell your insurance or your warranty that you want to use any other company. If you are looking on your own look anywhere else. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. And I have seen someone replying to reviews on here, I would LOVE nothing more than to speak to someone and receive an actual apology or have some action taken. This isn't a bid to get a payday or refund this is a cry to clean house and change your business practices. I will update if any positive action is taken but at this point... Do not use this company!!! Liars!! Yuri tech spent 3 1/2 hrs working on the machine. Allstate ordered the parts after I called in the claim. Told them machine would not open. Yuri came out I guess installed the parts. Then lied about my washer needing an additional part and that he request to see if insurance would cover it. Then wrote a report and told insurance we tampered with the machine! Unethical company. read more

Gerard was friendly and professional. He explained what repair was needed for our failing AC unit, and was able to accomplish the repair on site in a timely manner. The service call was through our home warranty with FAHW so the set price was fair. I would recommend Gerard at Smartchoice if you are using your home warranty. Thank God for sending over Sergei from Smartchoice -- I would have to say this is the Best, most honest & professional AC repair company ever! Sergei quickly diagnosed the problem within the first 2 minutes - he was very intelligent, efficient honest, efficient & knowledgeable! We were literally miserable in the humid/hot days & heat waves over the past 2.5 years, with only hot air blowing out of the AC. It was literally uninhabitable and I would work overtime at work (which has AC) to stay out of our sweaty & sweltering home because of this. Smartchoice was a breath of fresh air after the horrible experiences with prior unprofessional AC companies who sent really unqualified, unprofessional and unsavory "technicians" who lied about fixing things, tried to upsell and price gouge us, and were actually incompetent (and this is me describing it nicely). Unfortunately, my home warranty company had already reassigned my case to another repair company. They came for my warranty claim on range hood. Usually it's a struggle to get warranty jobs done efficiently but I was very satisfied with Smartchoice. I wish I remember the technician's name so I can mention him specifically. He was able to diagnose the problem immediately and instead of going the bureaucratic way of going back and forth with my warranty company, he went ahead with fixing the problem on the spot. He was able to correctly diagnose that I didn't have a motor failure (which was told to me by a previous contractor) but a simple tightening of the motor housing would fix the problem. My range hood was custom made so it would have been a headache to try to get new matching motors. I'm so thankful for their genuine care and professionalism. It's hard to find contractors who actually cares nowadays. They deserve a great review. read more

I wish I could leave a negative star review on this company. One of the worst repair companies I have ever had to deal not just slow with many excuses but lame also. The we're sent out by AHS to repair my frig. It's been over a month and it's still does not work.
