    Spring Rolls
    Gary H.

Pros- Good Spring Rolls Cons- Dirty Store Dirty Setups Limited menu Food was less than average It's tough to do a review on a chineese restaurant as its almost all the same for the most part. I've lived down the road from this place for years and never went in, well today while riding our motorcycle my wife and I decided to stop in. It's clearly geared for take out as there was one table inside but we decided to dine in anyway. In the door It's cluttered with boxes and other miscellaneous things. Not real dirty but not real clean either. Some kid took our order from across the room as he leaned on a stack of boxes and couldn't get our order correct as the cook came out to get a understandingof what we ordered. The menu was typical of a Chinese resteraunt but was missing alot of favorites. The set up on the tables were in fact dirty (pictured). I went with General Tso Chicken which I never order but it's all I could find that I tempted me. My wife ordered Wings, fried rice and spring rolls because she couldn't find anything appealing. My wife's wings were terrible and were just large chicken pieces, her rice was bland and had very little of anything in it but, the spring rolls were larger than most but also pretty good. My General Tso Chicken was so tough and loaded with sinue that I just left it. Bottom line- don't bother, much better 5 miles down the road.

Unfortunately, mostly bland tasting chicken dishes. I came to try this spot after a friend told me it was a good spot he tried once. I've heard of Hakka crispy chicken, but never had it before, so I ventured out here to try the following: Hakka Crispy Chicken Chicken Chili Both dishes surprisingly tasted very similar to each other. The chili chicken wasn't very spicy.

We frequently order takeout from here. The quality is always good and you get a lot of meat for the price. Our favorite to order is the Hunan Chicken which has a little heat to it and lots of vegetables. It comes with white rice but you can pay a little extra for lo mein. The inside is tiny but we just order takeout and now because of COVID it's takeout and delivery only. Service is always polite. This is the only Halal Chinese food that I know of in the area and it's great!

The food felt very Americanized, and the flavors were much milder than what I'm used to growing up with. The Awaze Tibs, in particular, lacked the bold, rich, spicy depth that makes the dish so special. It tasted like the seasoning had been toned down, and I found myself wishing for the authentic flavors I know and love. I understand that restaurants sometimes adjust recipes to appeal to a wider audience, but I hope they'll also consider staying true to the vibrant, unforgettable flavors that make Ethiopian cuisine so unique. At the point I received it I was near done eating. The food tasted good and had a good price point. They also offers Ethiopian beer which was great. This was a good spot, definitely a hole in the wall so I do suggest making a reservation.

You can adjust the heat (we chose medium) and the portions are generous. Keep in mind that Thai food can be extremely spicy, so choose wisely :D I can't get over how exceptional everything tasted. I remember it being good but not like this. The chicken tasted CLEAN (this requires a full-blown conversation to explain) and had the perfect bite. If you're ordering takeout then make sure to mix the noodles before eating. The samosas were PERFECT. Is it pricier than other places? Yes. Does the taste match the price? Also yes. Keep in mind that sometimes it's because of the ingredient quality and where it comes from. Some are simply more expensive than others. My attitude towards Thai food is a bit of a love/hate situation, but Amina just might put me back on the love wagon. Some places have this overwhelming fishy taste in everything, which I truly hate. From the depths of my soul. Oh yes, and it's also Halal. Bonus :D Order some takeout or dine in, whatever tickles your fancy, and enjoy!

Their staple dishes such as Drunken Noodles, Thai Fried Rice, Kaprow Fried Rice, Pad Broccoli and such are pretty much consistent with the way in which others of similar caliber produce it in the DMV. The food here is always fresh and delicious. I am satisfied with the quantity of food you get for the price you pay. I recommend exercising caution when experimenting with their menu items that specifically indicate SPICY because in my experience spicy here means loaded which chili pepper and almost to the point where you might miss the overall flavor of the dish due to the heat being so much in the foreground. Storefront street parking is terrible so you'll need to take advantage of nearby parking garages if you are not walking. Overall a good experience. I'll continue to patronize this place. My wife and I had been here for lunch before and had a good experience, so this time we figured why not check it out for dinner? Turns out, it was a great idea. The wait for the food was a bit on the longer end, but to be perfectly fair, we ordered a LOT, so we certainly didn't mind. By the time the food hit the table, we forgot about it almost entirely because the smells of freshly made kitfo, lamb tibs, and this stewed chicken dish whose name I can't remember (but it came with a hardboiled egg!) hit our nose, nothing else mattered. The food was presented in a way that somehow matched the overall vibe of the restaurant, which at this time of night was set to be kinda toned down with dingy lighting and smooth music. Huge call out to my waiter that I curse myself for not getting his name, because he is, simply put, the best server I've ever had at a restaurant. Not only was he timely and discreet about topping off our waters, but also checked in about soft drinks as well, and when he heard my son saying the food was too spicy for him, he took it upon himself to get him something else to eat that wasn't spicy at all, and without myself or my wife asking. If you're looking for a great place to eat with a killer atmosphere and even better service, you've found it.

It wasn't a platter type of night, but both Indian and Ethiopian cuisines have some great appetizers, so we stopped in after a movie. It was cool to see the breakdown of a vibey bar scene on one side and a sit down area on the other period both sides had the World Cup showing, so there was really no going wrong. The woman who greeted us led us to decide where we wanted to go. According to their hours, they are open until 1AM. We decided to get the stuffed naan basket, sambusas, and chicken momos -- A nice but fairly light spread for the evening. We or later told that they were finished with the naan basket... For an Indian restaurant more than 3 hours before they closed, that was surprising to me... I should have specified whether it was naan in general or just that basket, but still. The other two items came after 25 minutes or so. The sambusas were fried HARD, but had a great flavor. The momos were solid! We had a good time catching up, and they did great keeping water refilled (mostly). It took a while to close out -- they probably thought we were invested in the game and not in a hurry, but it's a weeknight and we were on Metro's time. I am curious about their proper Indian and Ethiopian entrees ... By the way, I saw a mouse right before we left... It was in the back on the dining room side past the tables.

We ordered 2 Kati Rolls (paneer and lamb kofta) from Krazi Kebob. We did Chappli Kabob, a Kabob Roll, and the Lamb Chop platter from The Kabob Joint. And we did the Thai tea and Chai tea from the boba shop. For the Kabob Joint: The Kabob roll was a real winner and the Chappli Kabob in the spicy green sauce was super. I wish the edges would have been a little crispier, but very good. We haven't had the Lamb Chop yet but there's a ton of food in their platters. For the Krazi Kabob, the paneer roll wasn't super spicy but was very tasty and I'd definitely get it again. The lamb was good too but I preferred the paneer. Highly recommend ordering in advance or with delivery; there isn't anywhere to sit and eat of course, and everything is made to order, so expect about a 20 minute wait if you walk in and order from the kiosk inside. Overall, great food and a cool business model for the area. In addition to the above, I'd probably get the Masala Fries next time and would consider the samosa chaat as a deconstructed samosa bowl.
