I've been going to In‑N‑Out for years, and today's visit felt like I had accidentally wandered into an alternate universe where the food is assembled by people who have never actually eaten at In‑N‑Out. My order was simple: a cheeseburger with whole grilled onion and chopped green chilies, plus animal‑style fries. The cashier repeated it back perfectly. What I received looked like it had been prepared during a power outage. The fries were cold, limp, and covered in cheese that had hardened into a kind of dairy‑based plastic laminate. The sauce was refrigerator‑cold--like someone had spooned it straight from a Tupperware labeled "Do Not Use." The burger was missing the chilies entirely and came with a regular onion that tasted like it had been sliced sometime last week. Everything was cold enough that I briefly wondered if I had accidentally ordered the Arctic Style combo. When I asked for help, an employee replaced the fries, and somehow the second batch was even worse. At that point I wasn't sure if the kitchen was pranking me or conducting a scientific study on how many times a fry can be reheated before it becomes a noodle. The replacement food was so unappetizing that it went completely uneaten. I wouldn't have fed it to a raccoon, and raccoons are famously flexible. I asked for a manager. Instead of coming out, I overheard the manager in the back say, "You go take care of it," which is exactly what you want to hear when you're the customer with the issue. Nothing says "leadership" like delegating a complaint from behind a wall. The assistant manager handed me a new burger, offered a quick apology, and gave me a gift card. No refund, no real acknowledgment--just a polite attempt to send me away with store credit I will never use. The problem wasn't just the food. It was the complete lack of ownership, hospitality, and basic quality control. This experience didn't just miss the mark--it launched itself off the field entirely. "I don't want to deal with you." That's the message I received. That's what anyone would hear from this experience. The manager never actually stepped into the role of leader or host. They delegated my frustration away like it was an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to recover the experience. I am providing this feedback because this experience was inconsistent with the reputation the In-N-Out brand has earned. Or maybe it's not and this is acceptable. Regardless I hope it is used constructively to reinforce expectations around service recovery, food quality, and managerial engagement. Can't you do better? read more

It was my first time checking out this new location in Oxnard. Stopped by for dinner on a weekday around 6pm and there was practically no line. I WAS STOAKED FOR THIS. Service as usual was top tier per usual. I ordered a double double with whole grilled onions and extra cheese and that thing was made with love. That burger as usual was a 10/10. Absulotely enjoyed my dinner that evening. One thing about In N Out that I love so much is there consistency. For the price, service and quality you can't beat. In-N-Out has several locations, but this is one of my favorites, because he service is good and fast. The drive-thru line is not so long compared to other stores. I always order cheese burger and fries. I don't really like onions, so I always ask for no onions, but they make it exactly as I ordered. That's a given, right? Happy that I finally got to roll through the new In N Out in Oxnard. Not the closest location for me which is why it took me a few months to try it but glad I got to grab an early lunch here today. Like others have noted it's not too busy here. Like any of their locations it does depend when you come but with two in n outs in Oxnard this has helped with reducing the traffic and lines. I came shortly after they opened on a week day and there was only one car ahead of us. Getting through the drive thru was a breeze and took like 5 minutes. Staff were nice and efficient, our order was taken correctly and we were on our way. I liked the layout of this drive thru. Always appreciate a long drive thru where there was consideration to note block the roads and parking areas. Since this In N Out is new it's very nice and clean, love the baby palms and greenery. My classic order is a number 1 combo with well done fries. Usually opt for a pink lemonade and that's a 10/10 for me. Thanks for another solid meal In N Out. I was excited when this location opened up because it was closer to home but honestly the one by Esplanade is better even though the drive thru line gets long they still knock out their orders quick. I came through the drive through at this location and there was only 3 cars ahead, when the girl came up to our car window to take our order she was not listening to a word I said because she was busy listening to her coworkers gossip through her headset. You could hear them because it was loud and she would laugh in between taking my order. She didn't bother to repeat my order back like they normally do, I had to repeat my order to her because I knew she wasn't paying attention and sure enough when we got to the window to pay, there were some things that were left out when the guy went through our order, he had to add them. To add on, the cheeseburger was pretty disappointing, there was little to no lettuce and the chilis I had ordered were all on one corner of the burger, this isn't the first time that's happened at this location. There was another time a couple months ago they actually gave us the wrong order too and that's pretty rare for In N Out, first time that's ever happened. I'm a UCSB student and normally don't go to this location, but on my drive back from LA I decided to stop by. While I was inside, I watched the kindest interaction between a young man and the manager, he was handing in his resume, and the manager (I believe his name is Elijah) was so warm, welcoming, and encouraging to him. Seriously, we need more of this kindness in the world. To that manager: people like you make the world go round!! You made that kid feel so proud of himself he had the biggest smile as he walked out. Even if he doesn't get the job, you taught him a valuable lesson of kind and respectful conversation between professional people. Also, the food was so good!! Very fresh tasting and quality for how packed the place/drive thru was. I loved how everyone behind the counter seemed to be enjoying their work and coworkers. So far so good! The consistent quality and standard you expect from an In-N-Out can indeed be found here as well. The long wait times you find at a seasoned location is not here yet but that may change if you're finding this review at a later time. I visited during the lunch hours on a weekday and saw many working professions here at around lunch time. Lost of folks from dealerships and hospitals finding their way here but it seems perhaps due to the nature of a work lunch, people were not really just hanging out longer than their meal required so there was enough seating for everyone looking for a spot. I didn't take the drive thru but the lines were not backed up at all. The Esplanade location is actually closer to me however I think I'd save time from the reduced wait times by picking here. Food tasted great and nothing fishy going on with portion sizes. Can't ask for more than that. read more

This is my first time going to a newly opened In-N-Out. It was definitely very busy today! They had someone directing traffic for those entering/exiting drive thru and entering/exiting the parking lot for dining in. I waited about 30 min in the drive thru lane. The staff were really friendly. Had someone take my order, give me an order ticket and double checked my order, and paid at the window. The burgers were fresh and nicely prepared! Fries were tasty as well. Also got pup patties for my fur babies too. I have to say that the drive thru pathway was a little challenging to navigate and not the safest design going in and out of the lot. Someone rushed into the lot and drove the wrong way to avoid the drive thru traffic and almost hit me head on as I was exiting the drive thru... Drive slowly and carefully! Our food came out quickly, and was fresh, hot and the assembly was perfect. Mine was a double double, animal style whole grilled, chili peppers, protien style. We shared french fries and a strawberry shake and hers was a grilled cheese, animal style, chili peppers, hold the tomato (nobody's perfect they put a tomato on it, but I was okay with that because I love tomatoes so I got an extra on my double double , haha) There are no pictures sadly because I ate before I thought about doing this review. This review is ultimately about the service at this location. Long story short, not only was it just great in general, there was Danny who went above and beyond and so did Alex. No need to explain why...it's not necessary. I decided to make sure the manager knew this before I left. I understood why they were like that the minute I met the store manager, Vivian. It's evident she has the respect of her staff, welcomed the feedback, and said she hopes to see me there again. Her leadership skills were even more obvious to me when I turned to leave and heard her announce to the entire crew that they had just received a customer compliment and congratulated them. Like wth.. i mean.. first time i had a drink with the straw already in it! I mean.. i was thinking wow how nice of her to do that for us, but still.. un acceptable due to sanitation purposes. My coworkers also report uneasy stomach issues, and I can't help but wonder if there are quality issues. The burger patty is practically tasteless and very small. Many may not have noticed because they smothered it with thousand island type dressing. I ordered the Flying Dutchman one day and was sorely disappointed. There's no bun there's no lettuce tomato mayonnaise and I couldn't believe that the cheese is American cheese, which is the worst cheese on the planet. It's always crowded inside middle school or early high school boys were sitting next to me with their dad who had no control over them. They were all finished eating, just sitting there sipping on their sodas, and one spill bears off the table and it landed on my leg and my feet covering me and sticky soda.
