When I arrived at 1:18 PM, I had to walk around to the front because the back door leading to the parking lot was locked. By 1:45 PM nothing has been communicated to me--no employee has explained the delay, made any mention of it, or offered any sort of apology. Nothing. I understand that things can get backed up, but this kind of delay and lack of acknowledgment is disrespectful of my time and of the other people who have been waiting with me. I've watched people come in after me, order, eat, and leave. I was even handed an order that wasn't mine, despite announcing my name and that I was there for a pickup. Do Not recommend. A twelve year old took our order and cooked our food, was seen sneezing and wiping his arm multiple times. Forgot to serve us our $5 drinks. I used to come here all the time so I decided to come back and give it a try and I was a much worse experience. The kid at the register gave horrible customer service and gave us all of the change in quarters even though it was multiple dollars. The soda machine was out of soda so we ordered a bottled soda instead, the soda they gave us was expired. I brought it back to the counter and asked for a new one they put the expired soda BACK in the fridge then gave me a new soda that was even more expired unbelievable. So I love getting tofu bowls at restaurants like this, which is usually my only option (I am vegan). BUT ever since they got the plantspired streak I became a regular. I absolutely love the plantspired steak, it's so freaking good and even the owner of the restaurant told me that his sales were really good because of it. The owner is also super friendly and has personally brought my food out to me for a curbside pick up, which is what I always do. This WaBa location is still pretty new in the Santa Paula area. Very clean and fast service. It was a Sunday late afternoon and not very crowded. My order was perfect and my food was perfect. Chicken was juice and full of flavor veggies were steamed properly to perfection and get this, My avocado was perfectly ripe no black to be seen on it!! That alone is a hard one to come up on. The dining area is inviting with Lights and a modern decor. plenty of space to sit for a meeting/family or just a couple. There's also plenty of parking in the back so do not be discouraged when you first pass by. I love have how WaBa is really healthy and has options from chicken, steak, salmon and shrimp. Came here right after this location opened, their food is definitely on par with their other locations. So if you liked their Waba you'll like this Waba. You can tell employees are new and a little slow going but the manager seems up to par and was helping the staff. Quick service. Fresh food. Only mild gripe was I ordered a side of shrimp and she said it was 2 pieces, I said ok. Really really good. My wife and I both got WaBa Bowls with avocado and enjoyed them. Our 4yo daughter is very picky and she loved it, too, so that was a big plus. The restaurant is super duper clean and the staff was very nice. The owner came out and talked with us for a while and visited with all of the other patrons as well. Best part is it is all locally grown stuff for the most part, even the rice we found out. So that's a huge plus for us. Definitely will be back! read more
