Was super excited for this place, as their menu on yelp listed lots of vegan options. About half our party was vegan, so we were super disappointed to find out that they apparently changed the recipe so the tofu was no longer vegan. In fact, it's not even vegetarian, as they add fish sauce. My wife ended up having the pho (their only vegan option) and it was fine. I hoped at least the BBQ pork Banh Mi would slap, since it's right there in the name, but was disappointed again. It was as if they learned everything they know about Vietnamese cuisine from a dollar store cookbook. BBQ pork tasted like 90s mall teppanyaki, Thai tea was fine, but the boba was undercooked and crumbly in the center. I remember the first time I visited was a few years ago. At that time it was a very small space, mainly for takeouts. Since then I've gotten delivery from here but this was my first time dining in. The expansion turned it into a casual dine in restaurant with plenty of seating. I don't tend to do pho for takeout so I decided to have that on this visit. Their signature TNT Pho was so good! The soup was very flavorful, definitely one of the better ones. There seemed to be more meat than noodles since I finished the noodles faster than the meat. Perfect for someone who prefers more protein than carbs! However I personally would like a little more noodles since I like to have noodles and meat in every bite. Previously I had tried the Vietnam banh mi, TNT egg rolls, spring rolls and Chicken vermicelli bowl. All were good but I think the pho is the tastiest of all that I've tried. Service was good. From the reviews, we were looking forward to eating some good Vietnamese food. However, it was pretty disappointing and I'm glad we kept our order small. I had the Spring Rolls with shrimp that were far from fresh. I would suggest a different protein if you're going to order the spring rolls. We also tried the Chicken Bahn Mi. The chicken had a lot of sauce on it. Nothing about the chicken looked grilled. It was more of a stewed chicken placed on bread. The more my husband ate it, the more he disliked it. This was a Vietnamese restaurant located in a small strip mall with a limited amount of parking stalls. Inside they had a large sit down section with simple decor and a nice wall mural. when we visited they were filling all to go orders and ultimately we ended up just ordering their Banh Mis. They were a little pricey compared to those we get in NorCal but at least they were stacked with lots of meat. Chicken had a sweet marinade and together with the crunchy vegetables and pate it was very tasty sandwich. The grilled pork Banh Mi was also a good choice. For both, the bread was light and airy. It's a bummer that we came on a bad night, but huge shoutout to the server really trying to hold it down. It looks like the area had a quick power outage, which pretty much made the restaurant unable to operate. Our food took nearly 40 minutes for the appetizer to come out, and then another 10 minute for the first of four entrees to come out. Needless to say, we ended up cancelling the rest of our order and going elsewhere. We did get to enjoy the fish sauce wings, which were delicious and I'd highly recommend! First time trying this pho place. Yelp review was 4.7 and high so we were excited to try. The worker was really nice and attentive but the food was a 6/10. Disappointed. The TNT pho was ok the broth was warm not hot, the smoothie was super sweet. You must ask them to go easy on the sweetness. Banh-Mi was good. We won't be revisiting. The restaurant also needs work on cleanliness. It looked dirty and unsanitary. The siracha and hosen sauce on the table were grimy and sticky to touch. Bathroom was also dirty. Really no reason not to give this place a 5. You cant sit inside and everything is fresh to order so you just have to wait in the front area for them to bring it to you- but So convienirnt from the beach (about 5 minutes) so a great spot to enjoy. The staff was very friendly and again, made fresh to order so it comes warm and crisp. prices were high for a banh mi maybe but reasonable for the area. The shrimp crackers that come in the bag are wildly addictive and i didn't even know i wanted them until i ate the whole bag. The sandwich is a good size, fresh and flavorful ingredients and soft bun that holds its own. Such a great pairing to eat on a nice warm day at the pier. The meat was nicely marinated and perfectly grilled. The bread is unbelievable delicious, slight-chew texture. The smear inside the bread is the owner's own-made pate (family recipe).
