Chow fun style noodles - terrible
    Vee P.

I haven't been here in years and I got a chance to try it recently under the new ownership. The food here has always 'catered to the area' and is decent, but they never could compete with viet places elsewhere. We ordered a few dishes to go to share including egg rolls, bun, fried rice, and some chow fun type noodle dish. The bun was similar to before, but the meat was very salty, overall good ratio of bun to veg to meat, and well cooked. It was definitely a sizeable portion. The fried rice was good, I enjoyed this dish. The chow fun style noodles with tofu was horrendous, I don't even know how they let this leave the restaurant. It literally tasted like watered down cheap soy sauce flavored mush. The egg rolls were mostly wrapper so it was not good. Overall, decent.

I believe when people think of Ventura and Oxnard (California) they think of your a-typical seaside town, perhaps similar restaurants and bars but amidst all the "surfs up" there's Pho Saigon -- an incredibly authentic Vietnamese restaurant. This was my first time at "Pho Saigon" but I had that feeling even before finding a seat that this was going to be a great experience-- and so it was. Ok I only had the Pho but it was really well prepared with great ingredients and just so tasty and delicious. Honestly I could have stayed there all night if I had a bigger appetite-- some of their dishes coming out of their kitchen were just incredible, with colors and presentation would make a Chef Ramsey or Mark Weins want to eat here! The prices are also very reasonable with a well structured menu with pictures of most offerings. An additional benefit is that they also have free WiFi, so you can watch your favorite TV show while you're enjoying your Pho! I thought their seating is arrangement is well planned with family tables, booths and single tables. They even have a sit down wait area! Parking should be stress-free as it's situated on a strip mall across from the naval station. Lastly I'll give a shout out for the servers as their service attitude is very assured, friendly and customer focused! They even have a happy hour on Friday's!

Our beloved pho saigon! Recently tried our usuals under new ownership. #35 grilled pork with fried rice was delicious while #58 flat rice noodles (no tofu) was off tasting. It definitely was not the same. The best I can describe the flavor is similar to its competitors at the Collection in the Annex. It had more of a butter taste and they added bok choy to it now and skimped on the carrots. Might have to find a new favorite dish..

Will be under new ownership effective May 31,2025, I had to stop by! So many memories - lunches and dinners here. Service was great! It was busy but we got our food quickly! The community will truly miss them and they are showing up. Amazing family owned restaurant for decades! Great food! My friend had never been, a local and she was sad she hadn't visited before. I'll make sure to support the new restaurant owners but still a bit heartbroken :/

This place has fantastic food. I also found it crowded when I went; this wasn't surprising given the phenomenal food. I had a rice bowl with meatballs, chicken, pork, and egg rolls. Everything was tasty, and there was plenty of food. The server took my order and quickly brought out my food. My favorite toppings were the meatballs. They were well-seasoned. For a drink, I ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee. It was definitely one of the top three iced drinks I've tasted recently. You can go up to pay for your food at the counter after you've finished or wait for the server to come by. I have absolutely no complaints and understand why this place is popular. There's plenty of parking, but be sure to read signs so you aren't taking a business' parking space nearby.

FOOD: I got one of the broken rice plates with everything. It had sheimp, egg rolls, beef, chicken and pork. Portion is good for two. The sweet fish sauce completed everything. So good! I highly recommend. We also got the house special pho and a bit salty but the lime helped cut that down and everything tasted great and fresh. SERVICE: The service was quick acknowledging us. The food came out in a decent amount of time. Not too long not too quick that the plate was a mess or inaccurate. There was a bit of staff working as a team cleaning tables, serving foods and taking orders. Staff were really nice and welcoming. We did not feel rushed at all. AMBIANCE: Plenty of seatings such as booths and tables. Clean tables with bright lighting. Bathrooms were clean and stocked lol. It can get loud due to plenty of customers. They barely opened and they were already steady busy. Last time I went during dinner time. There were 5-8 groups already waiting before we got there. I think they need a bigger location lol. Overall, highly recommend! Worth the hype. Delicious food and reasonable prices. My broken rice dish was $19 but it was plenty and shareable. Pho had plenty of meat and perfect meat to noodle ratio! Condiments if needed were available on the table along with some utensils. The condiments container were clean which was a plus for me. Perfect for groups or couples. Will definitely come back!

I usually order to go as Pho has become my rainy day / gloomy day-stay-inside-and-cuddle-under-a-blanket comfort food. and especially because this restaurant just happens to be in my neck of the woods. I follow Pho Saigon on Instagram and I love watching Jimmy's stories and posts. He makes me laugh, which makes me want to go down there even more so. Everyone is super helpful and nice. Now for the food...everything looks so good and I always have the idea I will venture from my usual order and try other things but if it ain't broke why fix it? Pho Tôm is my go to and even though it's not on the menu, it's an easy order. Also get the egg rolls with the side of veggies to share with my family. And then if I'm really feeling hungry I wash it all down with a Thai Tea with Boba. I have dined in person a couple of times and I have always been fortunate to not have to wait very long but I know this place gets packed! It's a neighborhood favorite and I love watching the fish swim in the large tank while I'm waiting. Never had a bad experience at all and would most definitely keep coming back. Thanks Jimmy and family! Photastic!

Food is so bomb but the server with the tribal tattoo on his arm was quite nearly the worst server I've ever encountered, huffing and rolling his eyes at us for asking for napkins, staring at each person at the table every time he walked by, forgot our order and then was very rude about it. The service from him reallyyyy put us off but everyone else there was super sweet. Not sure if we caught him on a bad day or what. Flavor is 10/10 here, respect for the authenticity. Will always come here when I crave Vietnamese

Used to come to Pho Saigon all the time and haven't in years because of the distance, but this is definitely the best pho in the area. Service is quick, the food is always good, and I would ask for the chili oil because they make it in-house, and it's so aromatic. The fried shrimp is something I usually wouldn't order, but I was pleasantly surprised by how big the shrimp were (great shrimp to coating ratio). Overall, always a hit!

Came for the first time and it was a great experience. The staff is friendly and the place looks clean! I loved my shrimp pho!

This is where you come to get delicious authentic Pho by the base. The food comes out relatively quick. During lunch, it can get busy but usually were seated within. 5-10 at most. There's usually seating available.

Great food, clean restaurant, prices are fairly priced especially for the quantity of food you get! Got the vegetable pho here and Jimmy was the waiter that helped me out here and was the sweetest guy! Will definitely be coming back here when I'm in the area in the future

I am such a huge fan of this restaurant! I came here for the first time back in 2015 when I was in town for the weekend and am now back 9 years later. The food is just as wonderful as I remember. The service here is so friendly and welcoming. My husband and I were treated so well while we were here for lunch the other day. The servers have suggested some amazing items and tips with certain sauces. I will always order the #3, the fresh spring rolls with shrimp and pork. As well as their #67 Thai Iced Tea. They actually sell their chili oil, which I definitely recommend buying. I use it at home all of the time. The vibe is so casual and chill. There is plenty of parking in the lot.

Pad Thai is not Vietnamese food.

From the…read moreparking lot we could see only one table with a two people, but a large, happy looking, family was exiting with arm fulls of to go bags so we decided to chance it, my partner especially excited for hot pot. We let the group pass us and entered the restaurant. We were promptly seated at a corner table and given menus. It did take a bit for the server to come back to take our order, but we did realize we came in 1/2 hour before closing, so we eased off a bit. My partner order the hot pot and was very happy with his choice. The server came back with a hot plate and instructed us how to cook the meat. I was a bit apprehensive about having to cook my own food, but the fragrant smell as it cooked changed my mind. The broth was flavorful and the veg and meat were tender as they soaked up the soupy goodness. I also ordered the boa buns and the pillowy texture, mixed with the soft pork and crunchy cucumber and carrots made my belly sing. We slurped up our food and cleared out as quickly as we could. I hate being that person that lingers at closing time. What I do regret is that I did not take more time at their counter as we exited because it was full of snacks and curios that I love. Next time for sure!
