Very good quality Thai food here at rice by mama 2. Really cool vibes with their cute decor and lounge music. Loved the pad z eww and chicken fried rice. The Chang beer was very good. Service was great.

This restaurant is consistently delicious, fast, and always friendly service! Seriously one of my favorite food spots in Ventura. Food always comes out super hot and fresh, and the portions are great- there's always enough for sharing or leftovers.

This is NOT Tom Kha Chicken no spice Coconut Milk Lemongrass which is what I ordered.

I'm a local and ordered take out for the first time with this location; Tom Kha chicken no spice. Very disappointing. The soup description says that it is made with Coconut Milk Lemongrass but they gave me a vegetable base soup base instead. It was also suppose to be no spice, I would hate to find out what spicy would be. My mouth was on fire. Of course b/c it was take out, it wasn't like I could send the order back after getting home. I'm writing this b/c it wasn't cheap either, $23 for a pot of soup. I don't mind spending money but it better be good. I will not be ordering from here again.

Fresh Shrimp Roll, awesome!! Satay Chicken the flavor and sauce they pair with is great very savory.

First time trying, brought mom for lunch. Selected two Appetizers that did not disappoint, shrimp wrap delicious highly recommend! The service started off a little on the slow side, but it improved as we had our main dish. We decided to sit in out-side patio no fault of no one but ours it got a little windy. I will be returning with both parents try their delicious food. Highly recommend.

Let me warn you, this place is sooo good, you'll be back. It does take a bit to get your food, but no complaints when it's freshly made. There are two locations but we like this one. It's more quiet and small. The service is great. Very polite.

Really enjoy this place. Food is great but i do wish they had more people working there. We stopped for lunch on the weekend and there were only 2 servers taking care of everyone indoor and outdoor plus the location next door. If you are in a hurry this might not be a great option. Is the food worth the wait? Yes it is. They have great options and the food is flavorful and delicious. We tried the Pad Thai, gyozas, fried calamari and the crying tiger. Everything was delicious! There is indoor and outdoor seating. Lot of space outside to enjoy the food and people watching around downtown. Everyone is helpful and nice.

One of the best Thai foods I've ever had!! -The Tom Kha Seafood soup was so delicious and the spice level was perfect. I like my food spicy but not to the point where I'm suffering through it! Ha! There's more mushrooms in the soup than seafood but it's still so yummy, so I would still recommend it. The pineapple rice with chicken was good. You can choose to add shrimp or just veggies if you prefer. The portion was so large, which was great because we ordered different things so we could share. The crying tiger beef was also delicious! It was tender and flavorful. My son loved it! It came with a spicy dipping sauce, apple salad and a small portion of white rice. That in itself is a whole meal! The service was fantastic! Ant was our server and from the minute we walked in she was so helped. She was on top everything! Even before we can ask for anything she was already there on step ahead of us! The restaurant has comfortable seating inside or outside if you prefer. My kids wanted to eat inside, so we sat inside. 10/10 for this place!!

Rice By Mama 2 has become a favorite place of mine for Thai food. The curry is a personal favorite of mine and I always find myself rotating through the options. If you're looking for take out, they offer online ordering and quick pickup service. The staff is great at making delicious food in a timely fashion. I'm definitely a fan of Rice By Mama 2 and they are in the mix of favorite Thai food places in Ventura.

Wish I would've ordered another plate to eat later!! The flavors in the glass noodle salad are immaculate. Major bonus is it's gluten free! Service was attentive on a Sunday afternoon. The ambiance was bright and clean. Next time I want to try the yellow curry and papaya salad, my other favorite Thai dishes. Reminder - notify your server know if you're allergic to peanuts, a lot of Thai meals have peanuts.

What left me uncomfortable was the service. Throughout the meal, I felt singled out and dismissed in ways that were hard to ignore. Staff were outwardly polite and seemed to be making an effort to be friendly, but the interactions often felt forced and noticeably different from the way other customers were being treated. Requests seemed to be met with impatience, and I repeatedly got the sense that I wasn't being welcomed in the same way as others around me. One example was when we asked if a finished plate could be removed to make room for new dishes that had just arrived. The request was met with hesitation, and it felt as though taking the plate was an inconvenience. Later, when I asked for to-go containers, the employee handing them to me appeared visibly strained to be courteous. It was one of several interactions that left me feeling like basic requests were being tolerated rather than accommodated. I can't speak to anyone's intentions, but the overall experience left me feeling unwelcome despite the surface-level friendliness. I came away wondering whether bias played a role in how I was treated. What stood out most was the contrast between how we were treated and how some others were treated. From where we were seated, I observed other customers receiving noticeably warmer service, including more smiles, friendlier conversation, and a more welcoming attitude. My party did not experience that same level of warmth. The food itself was very good, but the service experience would make me hesitate to return.

The house made pesto and rice pudding were super concerning sitting there without refrigeration. My experience trying the Shoreline Burrito fell short of what others have said. I told Dear Hubby that fish & chips at the harbor seemed like a great idea, and he agreed. Initially, I tried to get us a table upstairs at Brophy Brothers, overlooking the water. That was going to be about an hour's wait, so we retreated downstairs to Brophy's fast casual option - On The Alley. Essentially, it's the same fish & chips recipe, so all good there. The line was short and moved pretty quickly. While DH finished up ordering, I went out to the indoor-outdoor room to scout a table. I wasn't able to get one against the window, but we were still able to have a water view, just a bit further away. DH was hungry, so he ordered a burger, as well as the fish & chips. He shared a small portion of said burger, and it was really good. At a Brophy's establishment, I think of seafood, but thumbs up on that burger! The portion of fries they provided were extra generous. We missed having Adored Granddaughter with us, as she would have help demolish those fries! We brought some home to revive in the air fryer. I only had water, as they don't really have any beverage options that work with my restrictive dietary preferences. (i.e., no caffeine, and low- or no-sugar). The fish & chips hit the spot, although the fish was somewhat oilier than usual. DH got a cup of their delicious clam chowder, which was served with their delicious sourdough bread. That I got to have some of, and happier for it. Sunday afternoon at the harbor made for a great spot to people-watch. There were lots of folks who seemed like they had come from points east to get a break from the heat, just like us. We all tend to have a look that doesn't portray "Ventura local". Lots of young families, which was nice to see. Made us miss our granddaughter, for sure.
