So the girlies and I were in need of some serious sustenance after working out yesterday. We wanted something nearby the beach, causal and tasty. As always, found this spot with the help of Yelp. The Strandwich is a badass little hole in the wall sandwich spot and their breakfast menu is absolutely elite! Breakfast sandwiches and burritos with all of the fixings and so many protein options. You order at the counter and then find a seat. Fair warning, this place is small and cozy, so get here early if you want to find a table. Our order was whipped up by a couple of baddies and they brought the food over to our table. I'm a sucker for anything Lychee so started with their Lychee Hawaiian juice and it was the much needed sugar rush I needed after our 5k race. We ordered up a couple of breakfast croissants and breakfast burritos and let me tell you, THEY WERE BOMB! * My bacon, egg, and cheese croissant was a 10/10. It absolutely hit. Loaded with bacon and the perfect over medium egg. The croissant was light and fluffy. The perfect breakfast. If you love sandwiches and want to eat in a little punk rock meets beachy oasis, then this spot is 100% for you. Can't recommend them enough.

The Strandwich has some of the best sandwiches that I've ever had! Let's start with the Fireman Mike. Tender brisket with a little bit of fat on delicious sourdough with cheese, with some added jalapeno poppers for kick. This sandwich is an easy 12/10. Every bite was delicious. Next, the Vaquero which is also brisket but burger style with chorizo and jalapeños poppers is delicious as well. The burger fixings like pickles and onion gave this one a different feel, and the strand sauce was so good. I'd have to say an 11 or 12/10 for this one as well, but I'd give the slight edge to the Fireman Mike. The regular brisket sandwich is good as well, but I definitely prefer the fireman Mike. The toasted sourdough is my preference over the hoagie roll. I'll give the brisket sammy an 8/10. The roll was nice and buttered but it needs something else on it to take it over the top. All in all the Strandwich is one of the best places to grab food in the whole 805. I'll be back to try much more of the menu, I have my eye on the Tri Tip cheesesteak, the burger, and of course more Fireman Mikes! The service is excellent as well with very nice people working here. I like the outdoor seating options also to enjoy lunch on a nice day. Would recommend to anyone!

This surfer's hideaway is located near the Silver Strand Beach. It's a great place to stop by and grab some delicious food, before/after taking a walk or surfing on the beach. There aren't many shops around this beach, so having a place like this here is nice. I liked the interior, which had a beachy vibe. There are a few tables inside, and there is outside seating. The service was friendly and excellent, and the price was reasonable. I tried a chicken BLT sandwich and that was good. The chicken was crispy but not dry. It came with a small package of chips. There is a parking in front of the restaurant and a wheelchair parking space, but you can park a car on the street.

What a neat place! The menu is amazing! They even have gluten-free bread in the freezer, for those of us who need it. My eggs were cooked perfectly. The bacon was delicious. Tater tots are a safe & funoption!! Paul was friendly and I loved being able to watch the Seabees flow in and out while I ate. Will absolutely be back!

Bring your own Knife and fork..... otherwise you'll be stuck with the absolute cheapest plastic untensils that can be bought! I'm pretty sure the owner would never use them..so why would you give them to a paying patron !! The quickest way to piss someone off is to give them a useless tool to eat their meal.

This simple, unassuming light brown beach house, with the surfboard decoration over the front door is a GEM. The staff is friendly, the vibe is 100% beach town, and the food is excellent!! BBQ PULLED PORK, as good as any sit down. Brisket, as tender as the one I do on my home smoker. The Brussels sprouts !?!? A "fan favorite" we were told; and they did not disappoint! It tastes like these sandwiches were made with the care and detail of a chef. If you're in the Oxnard Silver Strand area, this place is a MUST!

Not good. Just went for the first time. I spent $41+ for the vaquero sandwich, aloha fries, jalapeño poppers, and cheese curds. What I got was a dry and confused brisket sandwich, an inedible, incredibly bland, and flavorless serving of fries that not even my dog would eat (literally), and obviously frozen deep fried sides which were overly greasy, rubbery, and very salty. Nothing ordered was finished, resulting in a complete loss of appetite as well as a waste of money. I wanted this establishment to be better. ~disappointed and dissatisfied~

They have an expansive menu that is almost overwhelming, but it's clear each item should be there and is delicious. There are so many options everyone can find something they will love. My son ordered the Loru's Combo with the cinnamon roll French toast. OMG...he loved it and I have to agree. Perfect texture and cinnamon flavor. A must order again My husband enjoyed the Machaca with over easy eggs...perfection! Not a smidge left on the plate. The best item was the Chiliquilles Divoriciados. Wow! Both red and green sauce with beans, eggs and crispy creamy hashbrowns were out of this world and the table agreed. That is a must order again! Pair this with a mimosa and you're in business! This place is packed but moves quickly. Can't wait to come back and try lunch or dinner or another great breakfast!

The plate was half potato's [which were ok] and a pittance of eggs and 2 of the smallest sausages also. The tables are so crowded together indoors you're going to almost be eating off your neighbors plate. Service was a joke, we moved tables 3 times and had to ask for syrup for pancakes twice before I got it. If you don't ask for the bill you'll be sitting there all day. Water refills? Again, better ask. With so many employees, it's shocking the lack of service we received. Overall, one of the most un-enjoyable breakfast places in town but given that it was New Year's Day I can chalk it up to being busier than normal. It seems this is a pattern, when it's not busy - great reviews. When it's busier, the place falls on its face or so it would seem.

I ordered some corned beef to be scrambled into my eggs which was tasty but $32? No way! I was not expecting that! And I honestly don't think it was worth it because half the meat was so fatty I couldn't even eat it. Yes HALF! Had it been lean corned beef all the way through? Then I wouldn't even bother mentioning it. Our server, bless her heart explained that the breakdown was $22 for the corned beef and $10 (I think) for the 3 eggs again the portion of meat I got was not worth $22. Owner/management? We had a great Valentine's Day brunch at Hollywood Beach Cafe!…read more We joined the Yelp waitlist while walking over from our hotel and ended up waiting only about 25 minutes for a table around 10am, honestly impressive for Valentine's Day. The process was super easy and made the wait feel seamless. We were seated on the "outdoor" patio, which was absolutely delightful. It's covered, so it feels like you're inside, but it's still open-air and pup friendly, which we loved. They even have a pup menu and bring out little metal water bowls. Our doggo was living his best life. The menu is large with tons of options. We initially tried using the QR code (which is great because it includes photos), but ultimately asked for a paper menu, sometimes it's just easier to flip through. My husband ordered The California (eggs, bacon, and pancakes). This breakfast also comes with toast and your choice of potatoes. We upgraded to the chili cheese tots, thinking it was just a small upcharge from the standard side, and didn't realize until we got back to the hotel that we were charged $8 for them, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the tots were tasty (just eat them quickly because they cool off fast!). His eggs were cooked perfectly, but the $3.50 upcharge to add blueberries to the pancakes felt steep, and the bacon was mostly fat and a bit overcooked. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with poached eggs, and the eggs were absolutely perfect. The dish was bursting with flavor. My only critique was that the beans were a bit too liquid-heavy, which made the tortilla very soggy, I couldn't finish as much as I would've liked because of that. The Bloody Marys, though? So good. Highly recommend! We both loved them. Our server was pleasant and friendly. Oh and there was a Char Man hot sauce on the table that was EPIC! Overall, we would definitely come back, we'd just try a few different menu items next time... except for the Bloody Marys. Those are a repeat order for sure.
