The place was so cute and I loved all the aesthetics inside ! They featured so many local artists and popular movie references. The burrito portions were huge and I took like a WHILE to finish, splitting it over lunch and breakfast. I really liked how the hashbrowns within the burritos were crunchy. Yet my sausages were soft. The chorizo burrito was flavorful. It is street parking so make sure you come in a little early if you want to find good parking. Overall, I would definitely go there again. Not just is the food good but it's a really pretty place around by water and the community seems very hospitable.

    Bacon burrito, yum!

Ordered the breakfast burrito and it was a tad bit greasy. Not bad just too much grease. It's a good spot my coworkers and I frequent.

So the girlies and I were in need of some serious sustenance after working out yesterday. We wanted something nearby the beach, causal and tasty. As always, found this spot with the help of Yelp. The Strandwich is a badass little hole in the wall sandwich spot and their breakfast menu is absolutely elite! Breakfast sandwiches and burritos with all of the fixings and so many protein options. You order at the counter and then find a seat. Fair warning, this place is small and cozy, so get here early if you want to find a table. Our order was whipped up by a couple of baddies and they brought the food over to our table. I'm a sucker for anything Lychee so started with their Lychee Hawaiian juice and it was the much needed sugar rush I needed after our 5k race. We ordered up a couple of breakfast croissants and breakfast burritos and let me tell you, THEY WERE BOMB! * My bacon, egg, and cheese croissant was a 10/10. It absolutely hit. Loaded with bacon and the perfect over medium egg. The croissant was light and fluffy. The perfect breakfast. If you love sandwiches and want to eat in a little punk rock meets beachy oasis, then this spot is 100% for you. Can't recommend them enough.

The Strandwich has some of the best sandwiches that I've ever had! Let's start with the Fireman Mike. Tender brisket with a little bit of fat on delicious sourdough with cheese, with some added jalapeno poppers for kick. This sandwich is an easy 12/10. Every bite was delicious. Next, the Vaquero which is also brisket but burger style with chorizo and jalapeños poppers is delicious as well. The burger fixings like pickles and onion gave this one a different feel, and the strand sauce was so good. I'd have to say an 11 or 12/10 for this one as well, but I'd give the slight edge to the Fireman Mike. The regular brisket sandwich is good as well, but I definitely prefer the fireman Mike. The toasted sourdough is my preference over the hoagie roll. I'll give the brisket sammy an 8/10. The roll was nice and buttered but it needs something else on it to take it over the top. All in all the Strandwich is one of the best places to grab food in the whole 805. I'll be back to try much more of the menu, I have my eye on the Tri Tip cheesesteak, the burger, and of course more Fireman Mikes! The service is excellent as well with very nice people working here. I like the outdoor seating options also to enjoy lunch on a nice day. Would recommend to anyone!

This surfer's hideaway is located near the Silver Strand Beach. It's a great place to stop by and grab some delicious food, before/after taking a walk or surfing on the beach. There aren't many shops around this beach, so having a place like this here is nice. I liked the interior, which had a beachy vibe. There are a few tables inside, and there is outside seating. The service was friendly and excellent, and the price was reasonable. I tried a chicken BLT sandwich and that was good. The chicken was crispy but not dry. It came with a small package of chips. There is a parking in front of the restaurant and a wheelchair parking space, but you can park a car on the street.

What a neat place! The menu is amazing! They even have gluten-free bread in the freezer, for those of us who need it. My eggs were cooked perfectly. The bacon was delicious. Tater tots are a safe & funoption!! Paul was friendly and I loved being able to watch the Seabees flow in and out while I ate. Will absolutely be back!

This place is sooooo gas. We ordered the brisket, torta and bacon breakfast burrito both great prices and insane flavor. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

This simple, unassuming light brown beach house, with the surfboard decoration over the front door is a GEM. The staff is friendly, the vibe is 100% beach town, and the food is excellent!! BBQ PULLED PORK, as good as any sit down. Brisket, as tender as the one I do on my home smoker. The Brussels sprouts !?!? A "fan favorite" we were told; and they did not disappoint! It tastes like these sandwiches were made with the care and detail of a chef. If you're in the Oxnard Silver Strand area, this place is a MUST!

Bring your own Knife and fork..... otherwise you'll be stuck with the absolute cheapest plastic untensils that can be bought! I'm pretty sure the owner would never use them..so why would you give them to a paying patron !! The quickest way to piss someone off is to give them a useless tool to eat their meal.

BBQ Worth Fighting Over at Smokin Jay's BBQ & Coffee from Potheads Coffee…read more My wife and I recently stopped by Smokin Jay's BBQ and paired it with a visit to Potheads Coffee, and it turned into one of those meals you end up talking about long after you leave. From the first bite, it was clear this spot takes their BBQ seriously. Entrées: We started by ordering a brisket plate, which came with about 1/4 lb of brisket, roughly six solid pieces, along with macaroni salad and baked beans. Our original plan was to share, but that quickly changed after the first few bites. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right with that perfect balance of smoke and juiciness. It didn't take long before we realized sharing wasn't going to cut it. So my wife went back up and ordered a brisket sando with fries, and it absolutely delivered. The sandwich came loaded with brisket, pickles, slaw, and sauce, all working together perfectly. The fries were a great side, crispy and a solid pairing with the sandwich. Sides: The macaroni salad and baked beans that came with the plate were both on point. The mac salad was creamy and complemented the richness of the brisket, while the baked beans added that sweet and savory depth you want with BBQ. Sandwich Details: The sando really stood out, especially with the addition of the slaw. My wife usually isn't a fan of coleslaw, but this one changed things a bit. It wasn't overpowering and added a nice crunch and balance to the sandwich, tying everything together without taking away from the brisket. Drinks and Service: Grabbing coffee from Potheads Coffee alongside the meal was the perfect move. What really stood out, though, was the service. Jay, the owner, was walking around checking in on customers and genuinely engaging with everyone. He even helped my wife decide on a coffee based on what she usually orders at Starbucks, which was a great personal touch. He later stopped by our table, chatted with us for a bit, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and personal. Ambience: The atmosphere strikes a great balance between laid back and lively. It has that casual, welcoming BBQ spot feel where you can relax, enjoy your food, and not feel rushed. Pairing it with Potheads Coffee adds to the experience, making it feel like more than just a meal but a spot you can hang out and enjoy. Overall: Smokin Jay's BBQ is hands down the best BBQ spot I've had in Ventura County so far. Between the quality brisket, well put together sides, standout sandwiches, and the personal touch from the owner, it's an easy recommendation. Pair it with Potheads Coffee, and you've got yourself a top tier Ventura food stop that's definitely worth coming back to.

Save yourself the headache and eat somewhere else. -- We were told our wait would be approximately 15 minutes. It ended up being closer to 30. Once seated, things got even worse. We sat for roughly 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging our table and had to flag down two separate employees before we were assigned a server. Despite arriving over an hour before I needed to leave for a scheduled appointment, our food didn't arrive until approximately 11:35 AM. Spending over an hour at breakfast for a simple meal is unreasonable, especially at a resort restaurant where guests often have reservations and activities planned. Unfortunately, the food wasn't worth the wait. The chicken sausage arrived room temperature, and my pancakes were raw in the middle. Not undercooked--raw. After waiting over an hour for breakfast, receiving food that wasn't properly prepared was incredibly disappointing. As if that weren't enough, the restaurant somehow managed to charge our credit card twice while also posting the charge to our room. Resolving the error became an ordeal of phone calls, receipt photos, waiting for managers, and multiple follow-ups. What should have been a simple correction ended up taking a significant amount of our vacation time. The most frustrating part wasn't even the mistakes themselves--it was the lack of urgency in fixing them. Nobody seemed particularly concerned that guests were waiting excessive amounts of time, receiving improperly prepared food, or dealing with billing errors.

I rarely eat any "fast food" like McDonalds, Jack In the Box, etc. and consider Five Guys to be a step above those places based on the quality of the food and how everything is cooked to order. I also don't feel sick to my stomach after eating there. I love the topping options like grilled mushrooms that Five Guys offers and the ingredients always taste super fresh to me. The fries with the skin on and malt vinegar are addicting and IMO far superior to In N Out. The prices have definitely gone up a lot over the years...the little cheeseburger and little fries was around $17, which does feel a bit steep, but that's how things go right now. The regular cheeseburger was only $2 more but I didn't want the calories of that, which are over 1000 by the time you add toppings and the little cheeseburger is always perfectly filling for me. When crowded, parking can be a bit difficult but I have always managed to find a spot. This location itself was very clean and the staff were all friendly. It was pretty empty at that particular location, with everyone getting orders to go, so it felt a bit depressing in there, but hopefully I was just in there at a slow time.
