This past July 4th I made it a mission to finally go to this place albeit quite an interesting path to get here. You follow Victoria all the way literally till it ends and then you have to turn a bit to the left. Initial confusion subsided cause there is the strand shop and the Strandwich which is right behind it. It's a very small place with a few tables inside and a few picnic style tables outside. When I went inside to order if you have a line of two or three people it will be either spilling to the dining room or you have to hold the door open it's literally that small. I am immediately saw an amazing looking hunk of dry rubbed cooked meat in the kitchen and ordered a tri-tip sandwich for breakfast. Paid my $18 and after about 15 minutes got my sandwich. As pictured the sandwich not only looked phenomenal but tasted delicious as well and would easily be one of my top 10 sandwiches of all time if not for one thing that keeps haunting me and seems to follow me wherever I go to eat meat sandwiches and that is.. drum roll.. the meat had to be spit out and picked apart over and over again from the fatty unchewable lumps, stringed fat and sinew. Really too bad because the meat is cooked and seasoned perfectly with charred bits. It was a sensational tasting sandwich with the horseradish aioli. I added my own touch by adding lettuce tomatoes and pickles; came out to be quite an epic sandwich but again all ruined by spitting out pretty much every single piece of meat that I put in my mouth and having to remove a bunch of fat and separate the meat to enjoy eating about half of it. I just for the life of me cannot understand why these meats aren't properly cut to not include these fatty parts; it's not that difficult and would gladly wait for this to be done. Really bummed. The other items look pretty good but wont dare touch the pastrami would probably have the same problem if not worse. But their breakfast sandwiches and other items looked really appealing. It is a very cute and quaint area inside and I'm pretty sure the other stuff would taste great. Will be back to try the other items but unfortunately I cannot eat this sandwich again. This place screams hangover food in the best way possible -- loaded fries, fried Brussels sprouts, huge "strandwiches", breakfast burritos/sandwiches, and more. It is the perfect place to go when you are craving something a bit greasy and totally mouth-watering. The interior space is limited to a few tables, but there are also some picnic tables out front. I should have taken a pic before I cut and ate part of it, but at least now you can see the inside. It was quite tasty. So I will start by saying the sandwich was solid. The two starts is based off the service. I ordered a chicken sandwich and nothing else. My friends both got the brisket sandwich with tater tots. The food was so great I had lunch there multiple days in a row. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area but if I did I'd seriously be here once a week minimum.
