Employees were working hard at preparing everyone's order. This trip I ordered a Hot Italian sub, which was their Italian meats heated up on the grill with the spicy red pepper relish topping. This was a really delicious sandwich! I still think the original Italian is still my favorite here, but the Hot Italian gets the nod when you want a different variety of their Italian. read more

When I got home and tasted it it tasted nothing like I remembered. They must've changed something. Service- the young man at the counter was anything but friendly. I thought he was downright rude. Ambience - it's fine nothing to write home about but it's a fast food sandwich joint. WORST- now was a disappointment with the food and that one particular person (he has no business, taking orders and being face-to-face with the customer - everyone has a bad day so I have to give him a little benefit of the doubt maybe things were not going well for him ) but my sandwich was $27 along with a small bag of chips and then of course there's a tip jar of which I left another five dollars. I came tonight -on a Friday night after a long day at work. I've always loved Jersey Mike's. This particular location at the harbor needs to replace whoever this lady is working tonight. I've never come across someone so rude and unfriendly. As if I was calling her at home to place my order. That is exactly how she made us feel, no matter how politely were that actually seemed to make her worse. Went into this facility Sunday evening. Store was clean and empty at that moment. While standing in front of counter 3 employees were in front preparing possibly an online or phone order. Not once did any of those 3 employees acknowledge us as we were standing right in front. And after about 6 mins standing there one employee says "how can I help you" We asked what types of bread they had and were told white was unavailable. We asked how fresh the breads were and one employee answered with her head down "made daily" we wanted to know if it was soft or hard. By this time 8 other customers walked in. I usually don't like sub places but I like Jersey Mike's. I usually get the Turkey Provolone Mike's Way. That is what I got after a walk at Seabridge. I was so hungry , I failed to take a picture. Clean spot and great service. Young man that helped me had great customer service! Only sub place we get sandwiches from. I think this is the only Jersey Mike's left in Oxnard. So sad :/ we used to have at least two/ three more. I love the location where this one is because walks here are so relaxing. Last note- I really like supporting this business because of the history behind it. I read a 17 year old kid (the founder) asked his coach for a 100k loan to start his own sub business and he believed in him so much he said yes. He's wasn't even 18 years old for him to find that support in an adult that wasn't a relative, says he showed great character. Look at Jersey Mike's now, a billion dollar business from a locally owned shop in Jersey. The portions were bad enough but when I made the mistake of ordering, at a $2 additional charge, for the avocado I was amazed at how thin the avocado spread was, you could actually see bread through the thinly spread smear. Location: Beautifully located. The little amphitheater I'm the back leads to the small harbor like where many store their boats, take a jog, walk, and get some fresh air. There is also a ramp if you have a stroller or wheelchair . Parking: Depending on day and hour you arrive, sometimes parking can be a little difficult or sometimes you find one asap. Been here once before. It was my sons first time. And both our first time having a hot sub. We assumed it was made the same as the cold where you can customize what toppings. We ordered and let them know it's our first time. We stood and waited to pick our toppings. A bag came out and our food was already prepared. We mentioned we did not want all toppings and thought we could customize (unaware you were supposed to request that at the beginning as opposed to the way they do the cold sandwiches) after discussing our issue. The young ladies seemed very bothered. We were respectful and nice. She offered to remake the sandwiches this time, which we appreciated. This particular location is in the very busy Seabridge mall Next to Vons and the parking is always crazy crowded but still a small hassle and worth it! The reason for the 3 stars is because their sandwich assembly line is seriously lacking! They have one person assembling the sandwiches and a long line of people backed up and I was next and the one person making sandwiches grabbed a handful of "waiting to be assembled" sandwiches that must've been called in or online orders? Personally I think they should have a 2nd person helping on the assembly line so they can keep the line moving especially during lunch time? There actually was a couple other people, 1 working the register and the other next to him-wrapping and bagging the orders and he could've stepped in to help as the line was pretty backed up w/people waiting for their subs to be assembled.
