It's not just this Habit I've been religiously going to the Habit for 20 years now and I still love the place, good selection, friendly staff but the quality of the chicken has really declined. Ever since Yum! Brands acquired the Habit in March of 2020 the chicken is lost all flavor and it's quality has fallen a poor grade of meat. My son and I visited the Oxnard location on Vineyard Avenue after placing an online order, planning to dine inside. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely concerning. The restaurant was filled with smoke--enough to make it difficult to breathe--as if there had been a grill fire or something burning in the kitchen. I mentioned to the staff member handing out orders that they should open the front doors to allow customers some relief from the smoke. Her only response was, "We have the back door open," which clearly wasn't sufficient. It wasn't until another customer also expressed concern that they finally propped half of the front door open--when the entire entrance should have been opened immediately for safety. I was so alarmed that I called the non-emergency number for the fire department. I truly hope they addressed the issue, because the amount of smoke in the dining room was not normal and absolutely unsafe. A situation like that warrants temporarily closing the restaurant until the problem is resolved. Allowing customers and staff to remain in that environment is irresponsible and shows poor judgment. This experience left a very negative impression, and I hope management takes this seriously before someone gets hurt. read more

Stopped in for my FREE bday Charburger and I bought onion rings. Good meal! I've loved The Habit for years though I feel the quality has changed though. Service was ok. When I got there , the cashier was on her phone and seem bothered by me getting there. I sat down then got up to ask for no pickles as I had forgot to mention and she was on her phone. She appeared bothered by my request. Overall not a pleasant interaction on 6.2.25. It was not busy. Decor is modern with comfy seating, so that was nice. This local is keep clean, close to the freeway and I had no issue finding parking. I have been to this location when it is busier and parking can be an issue. The fries were soggy and not crisp at all, the sandwiches taste very bad (have a bad aftertaste). While it's good they do have a veggie burger option and chicken sandwiches also, they taste terrible. You pay a premium price here and it's not at all worth it. You will get better food for less money going to Wendy's, Burger King, etc and the fries are fresh and crisp at those places. read more

We normally come to this location twice a month because of quality freshness and cleanliness but we went on a Tuesday evening dine in. The floors were filthy, waited 5-10 mins for a cashier, and they charge 50 cents per sauce now... At least make one per entree/side then any extra can be charged. Went this week to try this new place and was immediately disappointed by the horrible customer service. Vicky was on her phone and didn't acknowledge me until I asked if she too busy to help. Once I asked, she put her phone away and gave me the fakest look. Not sure how someone so unprofessional and unwelcoming can be part of management. The food on the other hand was amazing, thankfully. I would seriously recommend thinking again about who you promote because they are representing the business and if she's an example of how the habit runs their business, then maybe people should avoid coming here. read more

This one, and all the locations I've been to since, are kept very clean.   Also, no matter the location -- I've experienced consistency across the chain (good job corporate trainers!).  Whether you choose burgers, fries, salads, chicken sandwiches, or all four -- it's fresh, good quality, well-priced, and quick. My favorite burger is the Teriyaki Char Burger with Cheese -- love that charbroiled flavor and sweet tangy sauce.  It's nearly impossible to avoid their combo with fries (fresh, superb) & a drink -- heck yeah!.  It's fast food prices, and yet, no sacrifice on quality whatsoever. Worst habit experience. Stephanie was worst staff I've ever encountered. Incredibly rude and spoke to me like I was an idiot. I got there a little early for my pick up. I went to the counter and Stephanie said she'd call me when it's ready. I went outside and waited about about 10min. I got a text saying my food was ready, so I went to the counter, and Stephanie goes "Picking up-? Oh, you. I told you I'd call you when it's ready". Nurses Week is being celebrated at our local hospital, and every year the hospital shows appreciation to all employees by providing either Habit or In-N-Out burgers. This time, however, the experience didn't go as smoothly as in the past due to long wait times. The Habit team seemed overwhelmed and annoyed by the large number of staff waiting in line. Since my unit couldn't be left unattended, I had to bring a cart to carry extra combos and drinks for those who couldn't make it. When I asked for a customized burger without onion or tomato, the man serving said they don't accept special orders, which I felt was quite rude. I attempted to discuss with him the additional combos I was told to receive from our charge nurse, but he completely ignored everything I said. Visited this location today, Sunday afternoon. Not too busy, we ordered a total of 4 burgers and some sides. 3 out of the 5 burgers came out wrong, small mistakes such as wrong type of cheese, etc. We notified the manager and the reason of my 5 star review is because the way management handled the situation, one of the burgers was replaced because and the other 2 was no big deal so we ate them anyways. Their budgets are always great! They also gave us a Free burger ticket for next time and they made sure we had a good experience after the incident. I love the way they made it right super quickly. We love this locations because is never too busy! Their patio is very nice and they have employees going around sanitizing everything after it's been used. This has been my go-to Habit since it's so close to home. The food is always fresh and delicious and hasn't ever disappointed. I would definitely recommend ordering ahead for either dine-in or takeout, this place is always busy. My favorite is the original charburger with bacon and cheese. Their crispy chicken bites are amazing and the spicy red pepper dipping sauce is the perfect addition. I had The Habbit in my hometown Santa Barbara, and the Habit on Vineyard in Oxnard is the worst! This is the third time they cannot get my order right. This last time, I received a charburger that appeared to have been sitting in the warmer. The buns were super hard on the edges, I asked for no onions and it looked like there was onions on it but they scraped it off along with the cheese I ordered. It barely had any cheese, few onions scattered in the middle of the meat and bun! This was not made fresh at all!!! This is not the first time my meal seemed to be pre made. Also, another time I called the call center to order, they overcharged me by $4! They had asked if I wanted to leave over the phone, I said no, when I got to the store I had the cashier ring up what my bill would have been and it was over by $4. She gave me a refund & said the cash center is known to add a tip without consent!! From the outside and the way the place looks inside, you'd think it's just another typical hamburger place.
