Took 10 minutes to get 2 plain patties, and was told it would take another 15 minutes for my bacon Mac and cheese. Came home to find no bacon on my Mac, and they forgot the lettuce tomato sides. It really grinds my gears when an establishment have great fiod but ZERO personality. None of what happened was making sense. The restaurant was pretty empty with just 2 other people inside. I noticed the 2 other customers using the kiosk machines to order. As I waited at the empty front counter, I realized WHY the other customers were using the kiosk. The front counter does or did not at the time have a front cashier helping take orders. I yelled out HELLO, like I was Lionel Ritchie! After the employees behind this wall reached a decision on who wants to help up front , a cook came out and he took our order and then disappeared to the back, never to be seen again! Lol..weird! I gotta admit the food and shake were great at the end, but they got our order wrong. I went back to the front counter and asked to fix our order, and Hahaa, the guy just gave me bacon in a napkin . They have kiosks to order so you don't have to interact with employees until they bring out your food. There's lots of seating and they're open real late. However, I thought it was a bit pricey... a chicken avocado bacon burger for $13 with no sides. Not to mention, the breaded chicken was SO greasy. I had to take it all off because it tasted like fried old gunk. My meal vastly improved after taking the breading off. However, for some reason the lights went off twice during our meal. While on vacation I broke down and finally tried a Shake Shack. I ordered two combos which generally means a main, a side and a drink right. We got 1 chicken shack with a vanilla shake and one double bacon burger with a vanilla shake and both with fries. I went through the drive through and the menu was pretty straight forward. 48 dollars and change....what? However good it may be that's an extremely high price point. All in all. The fries and shakes were both very good. For the burger I still prefer a joozey burger over this tiny smashed thing but it was tasty just not 48 dollars for a combo tasty. So maybe your good paying way to much for a very small burger combo but really I still prefer regular standard burgers. Just a personal preference. read more

Came in for lunch on a Friday afternoon with my son. A little interesting that there's no person available for ordering, but the digital kiosks were easy to navigate. The restaurant itself is really pretty and inviting for a fast casual spot! Food arrived to our table fairly quickly and burgers and fries were super fresh. I like the smash burger style of the burgers. There's a spot for water, but wish there was access to ice. Parking is plentiful and there's also a drive through. I'm not sure people know this but their hours are from 10 am - 11 pm from Monday - Thursday but is opened 10 am until 12 am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday! And yes they have a drive thru! There's actually no lines at night right now because it's in a new plaza and as compared to In-N-Out at night (crazy lines) that is two lights down. I ordered two made to order quarter pound angus beef cheeseburgers that look like a smash burger. The reason why their price range is what it is, is because they use sustainably sourced ingredients including their all-natural beef with no hormones/antibiotics, cage-free eggs and real sugar. And their motto is that the meals are made to order, so that's why it may take awhile. read more

GETTING HERE: Shake Shack is located across Oxnard Boulevard from the Collection. I believe they call that area "The Landing". There are a lot of apartment/resort condos being built and there's a little tiny strip mall next to Shake Shack also. REVIEW: Both times I have been here have been through the drive-through. And it's been actually really great experience! This most recent trip I ordered the chicken nuggets and fries and the tiramisu milkshake. I had a lot of questions at the speaker because their advertisement didn't have a lot of information for me (and this being only my second visit here.) The person on the speaker was very nice. Very flexible very willing to help and answer all of my questions. Drive-through was great, paid with my card easy breezy, and I've got to go in next time for an inside-visit. I also highly recommend the tiramisu milkshake. It was amazing and had so much flavor. Overall, it was pretty great! Definitely would prefer this over the MCD or the JCB. :-) Thanks! read more

I am surprised to see overall low rating and many 1 star posts. I think price for portion sizes may feel too inflated, BUT the food quality and taste I think justifies the higher prices. I would say they are more expensive than Habit (which is also great fresh quality) and on par with their own higher brand Hook Burger. I just had their new Korean K-shack chicken bites, and I think they nailed the authentic yangnyeom flavor, spicy sweet that is gochujang based. I am duly impressed. They're not as crispy as viral Korean Fried Chicken vendors, but great attempt by an American chain. If you get their app, there are many promo offers- Free shackburger, or chicken sandwich if you buy $10 of food. I've only been to Shake Shack in SF, and that was super packed and busy. This location, maybe b/c it's tucked at the end of this new cul de sac has never been crowded busy the few times I've been (but have not been here on weekends at prime meal times). Their Single Burger patty is not large, I think the same size as Habit's, but their soft potato bun and the smash style cooking and higher quality meat all adds to a higher level burger. Their fries are crinkle cut. I have a personal food link of this style being Ore Ida frozen fries; as a kid I always wanted the thin McDonald style. and our local Chinese restaurant always served crinkle fries with their 'Americanized' menu so I never choose crinkle cut, but Shake Shack fries are quite crispy due to the many ridges. Everything does seem to be cooked to order, so fries are not sitting for too long. So again I am willing to wait extra time for my food to come out, vs. getting food so quickly from the heatlamps of other chains. and of course their signature "Shakes" are good, made from real ice cream so they're not served in very large cups (I think it's 16oz). Again quality over quantity. This is a burger chain for adults, it is not aiming for the family market, as the prices are far too high for kids appetites, and there is no kids menu. read more

Wow, we now have a Shake Shack. Don't have to drive to LA or go up the grade for it. I Didn't feel like going inside. Drive thru was convenient and only 1-2 cars ahead of us. Food was fresh & service was good. Would probably try dining inside next time. As it got a tad messy eating in the car. Cheeseburger seemed small, but was yummy & a good size for me. I liked the spicy fries. It's basically a dry rub on the fries. $15.99 for a Combo & $7.99 for just the burger... Pricey, yes... But, Quality is there. Im not in a rush to come back. I was staying at the hotel next-door to this Shake Shack location here in Oxnard and I wanted to get a milkshake. Luckily, I had eaten already. Otherwise I would've been really hangry and really frustrated. I placed my order on one iPads and inside the restaurant took about 15 minutes for me to get my milkshake. The order process was actually very easy and quick. I was indecisive with all the different milkshake options that they had but then I was there waiting for a while. Most guests were already eating their food and it wasn't like there was a rush. Hopefully this is a one off and people get their items quicker than I do. In general, there is a drive-through here which i bet is popular at times. They did a great job developing this area that had nothing in here. However, the only issue is that there is a bottleneck exiting to the main street here with all the different businesses here. It's busy enough that it takes a long time and a couple of cycles through the lights to be able to exit out of the street. read more

Shake Shack is one of my favorite burgers. Everything about it is perfect. The meat-to-bun ratio is perfect. The bun itself, a Martin potato roll, contains the contents perfectly (it doesn't fall apart) yet it just melts in your mouth. The Chicken Shack sandwich should not be overlooked. It's leagues better than Chick Fil A, but it comes with a price tag. I like to add cherry peppers and bacon. The beef is humanely raised hormone/antibiotic-free Angus. The cows must have been happy because they sure taste good! Just the right amount of "shack sauce" is applied; you know it's there, but it doesn't drip out all over your clothing. The cheese sauce on their fries isn't gross Velveeta. It's real cheese and it's mighty tasty. The facility itself is really nice. Since I ordered from the kiosk, I can't really say much about the service except to say that the food was delivered promptly. The only negative I can think of is the price. read more

Today I attended their soft opening for their Friends and Family event. So happy to finally see Shake Shack open in Oxnard! Their official grand opening is tomorrow 3/20/25! This is the first location I've been to with a drive thru. Found out there's only 8 locations in the U.S. that has a drive thru and Oxnard has one of them! Located by the Panda Express, lots of parking for dine in and two organized drive thru lanes. Ordered their Black Truffle Burger, SmokeShack, Chicken Shack, Cheese Fries, Strawberry Lemonade, and Strawberry Shake. Everything was fresh and delicious! The fries were hot and crispy. And the cheese sauce was heavenly. Only waited about 10-15 minutes and the food was ready in about 5 minutes. Friendly staff and great service! Will definitely be back soon! read more

As I've said before, when it comes to Burgers, everyone has an opinion. A group of us had an entire debate and discussion around the topic. We went back and forth on meat patties, the flavor and seasoning of the patties, the bun, the ingredients used, the custom toppings like "Special Sauce" or "Animal Style"...etc. etc. When it comes down to it, Shake Shack is in the Top 5. Yet, it's all subjective, just like the list of Top 5 Rappers, everyone has a different list. What it comes down to for me, is the flavor and quality of the meat patty. Shake Shacks meat patty tastes like freshly grounded quality beef. It's thick and flavorful, with a perfect amount of char. The crinkle fries pair well with this Baddie Burger. The choices of gourmet burgers also stands out. You can select from Truffle, Mushroom, Bacon, or Avocado Burgers. Which differs from other spots. However some friends have argued that Shake Shacks prices don't allow it to compete in the same category of other competitors, like the SoCal Local favorite. In my opinion, I like a variety, we are supposed to have 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. I'm glad we have options, eating the same thing all the time would be boring. Came back into the 805 to see this now open. Having lived in the East Coast and eaten at shake Shack locations in NY, MD, & MA, we were quite disappointed as we were expecting to be devouring large burgers that requires two hands to hold the burger. As you can see in the picture, even my small hand can easily hold the burger. It was a 4 bite burger for my s/o. Truffle fries were pretty good and crispy, but not worth $6. Chicken nuggets were good, but my 7 yr old was surprised of how soft the nuggets were with the coating easily coming off. He was not a fan of that. The BBQ sauce was pretty flavorful. Reminded me of Carl's Jr BBQ or a Memphis style BBQ sauce. Strawberry lemonade was good Service, standard. There are kiosks available to order yourself or go to the register. We didn't get greeted by anyone. Everyone seemed busy. Ambiance is clean so far. Let's see how this lasts. For $50 total, this place didn't make a big impression on us. read more

The smoke shack was ok, all I got was the heat from all the peppers on it with a hint of bacon. Won't ever go back unless there is a promo code as the food does not justify the price. For this business to have just opened , you can tell these workers are focused on making this location a success. I've gone on the pre friends and family visit and most recently on friends and family day but also looking forward to opening day tomorrow. My orders have been filled correctly and in a timely manner. Everyone is friendly and helpful and obviously everything is clean. Food is warm and fresh. I love their crinkle fries! Tried a hot dog, tried a chicken sandwich and also the seasonal truffle burger. All good. However in 2 separate burgers, my family has stated fat chunks in the burger patty. This can be a turn-off. I don't know if this the regular meat quality but for the first time to happen, chalked it up to a fluke but the second time this makes me think it's just their meat. I will come back and try different products for myself because I'm happy to have them in the neighborhood and I want to like this restaurant chain. The store is clean and large and we were greeted when we walked in which gives the place its two stars. First off I know the cost of everything has gone up but the problem with this place is the price and quality of the burgers overall are lacking. The burgers are relatively small for the price and a $16 dollar burger should come with lettuce, tomato and onion options. Comparing this to in and out or the habit or even Carl's Jr I would choose any over this place based on quality of food. HOW HAS THIS SHAKE SHACK ONLY BEEN OPEN 2 DAYS?! Came in today for a late lunch and I was beyond impressed with the service and the quality of the food. When a place has a grand opening and is new, I usually expect that the restaurant will still need a little time getting their footing and will work out the kinks. However this place is already running like a well oiled machine. Pro Tip: if the drive-through is long, definitely go order inside. On their second day of opening, it only took me 10 minutes to place my order, get my food and be on my way. Pretty unheard of and amazing for a brand new spot (a spot that was very busy mind you). I used to be unsure if I was a real Shake Shack fan, but after eating at this Oxnard location, I can say that I really loved it! The staff were super nice and attentive. The restaurant interior is super clean and well laid out. Most importantly though the food was amazing. The food was all clearly made fresh, some of the best fries in the game - well seasoned with salt and crispy but light.
