Anyway, I got my mom the papaya with boba and myself the matcha with boba. Drove 20 mins out to support this newly opened spot. Cute colors and decor. Nice real plants and a few seats to sit down while you wait for your drink. No AC only a small fan so it gets really warm inside. I just hope for better staff training on customer interactions. me, my fiancée and family are definitely regulars at this shop, and we've never been disappointed until now :( when we walked in they were mopping the floors around customers waiting for their drinks. we had been browsing the menu when the employee told us to move to a different part of the store because they were cleaning... we didn't mind moving but they were a little snippy about it, and i've never worked or gone anywhere that mops floors in the middle of business hours, especially one as small as this one. so that was already uncomfortable for us. when we ordered everything was fine for the most part but when we received our order, it just didn't meet standards. this is just one of the drinks we received, a BLENDED tea but the tea and "blended" part, that was 80% foam, are completely separated, the tea tasted bland and watered down, like they didn't put enough of some ingredient and it fell completely short. we were shocked this was handed to us and left unhappy. we noticed the staff that usually serves us were not in today and it was definitely disappointing because those girls always know how to make a good drink!!! for 20 dollars plus tip we expected better. read more

Maybe it's all the other Boba places I have been to and was expecting more. The drink was not bad but i think for my experience it was the service that threw me off. I always go to Bigstraw Boba on Saviers road because it's close to home. My son loves the cotton candy boba and I love the vanilla bean one. The drinks are a 10/10 but the customer service needs major improvement. EVERY single time I have stopped by this location I've gotten helped by rude employees. It is really not that hard to smile and greet your customer. Minutes ago I walked in to a rude young lady that couldn't say a simple "hello." I went there today Sunday and I asked for a Jazmine almond milk tea and the worker made it twice with regular milk what was so hard to do .It wasn't for free .the staff takes 7 to 10 minutes to serve every person unlike the Ventura location they are familiar with Jazmine almond milk tea you only wait if it is very busy 5 minutes plus they give you points or discounts with your phone number. read more

I've been to the other Bigstraw branch on Oxnard Blvd., and although the boba here is on par with the other location, I won't be back because of the location (my family and I were stalked by a guy on his bike while walking through Centerpoint Mall, and then by one of his friends who walked inside Bigstraw a minute after we did, but I digress). I've tried the Strawberry Peach, Soursop, and the Honeydew flavors. The slushy-like texture is still odd to me, but it's certainly refreshing. Each drink captured the actual flavor we ordered and none of them were overly sweet. The boba was overcooked like the other branch, but perhaps other customers prefer it that way. It took awhile to get our drinks since there was only two people working when I was here, but the owner was friendly and did her best to keep up with everyone walking in. read more

3 young girls working between 5:30-6:00 have no problem gossiping to each other loudly while customers await there drink, very short and seemed annoyed with me like I was interrupting their gossiping session. no customer service and have no experience in providing great service or manners. This place is ridiculous! I can never visit SoCal without a stop to this place. Their boba is consistently perfect. Never had a ball that was hard in the middle, just perfectly squishy throughout, but not too gummy. I ALWAYS get the Taro. It tastes so fresh. I took the recommendations of a few Yelpers and tried the Vanilla Hazelnut and it was super yummy. Bigstraw has been the go to spot for boba in this area for some time now and with good reason . On most occasions this place will satisfy any boba/smoothie craving. The location isn't always the most convenient due to the lack of parking and constant pedestrian crossings. Bigstraw also doesn't really offer itself to be a place for people to gather which I would think could add even more to an already good thing. This place is great by Oxnard standards for sure. read more

Came here to try the boba and was not disappointed. I live in the valley where the boba standard has been set very high. I've looked all over Ventura county and no boba spots have a 5 star rating so I was a little worried. I ordered a Thai tea slushy with almond milk and strawberry popping boba and a green apple green tea on ice. The boba was exceptionally fresh and the drinks were made exactly how I liked. I prefer slushees but do prefer them more liquid than ice otherwise you drink the juice and there's a bunch of ice at the end. The drink technician blended my drink and brought me a sample to make sure the consistency was what I wanted. I truly appreciated this gesture. read more

This place has good boba! This place is always packed with people. Their variety of flavors will keep you coming back. The only bad thing about this place is that their floors are so dirty! They should mop and scrub the marks off of the floor or get new flooring because it's a "turn-off" whenever I come in here to buy boba! I went in today which is a Friday @ 1:45 just awhile ago and I ordered 3 large Bobas. 2 Cantaloupe and 1 Soursop. Well, when I put my straw in the cantaloupe I expect to taste cantaloupe not fucking papaya or another powder of a different fruit! I know that you're using the same damn spoon to mix different drinks but it shouldn't be like that! Why not at least wash or have different spoons to use for each boba drink you make? Is it that difficult to wash a spoon or use a new spoon so that the flavors don't get mixed into one cup? I mean come on now, you have one job and you can't do it. I was going to turn around and go back to return it and ask for new ones but I didn't have time to go back and deal with them. This is the 2nd time this shit happened. Everytime i come I get a chocolate chunk which usually comes with chocolate chips on the top, kind of the main reason I get it. Recently the last two times i got one they haven't informed me they were out of the chocolate chips. If I was informed I would've got a different one from the start. Shouldn't they at least inform their customers when they're out of a certain ingredient? Also, the ice wasn't well blended and had huge chunks throughout. This is the best out of the three I have been to in ventura county. I love their mocha. Chocolate chunk and chocolate banana drinks. Their milk tea is not as I expect it to be like the ones I have always had in northridge, alhambra area. I guess their point was that some don't like the sweet taste of how I think a milk tea should be. But I always come to this place when I get cravings and their boba is good. I think they have a few things to improve to really know how the recipe of each drink. Lately, as good as my mocha is the past couple times have been bland and watery! But let them know that there was no flavor and they will nicely improve the taste of your drink. But I hope it is not "saving" of the flavor powder that is making their mocha drink bland. I hope it is something they can easily learn and fix. Id you are selling drink each worker MUST learn all the drinks by heart by measurement so that customers will keep coming back.
