We really enjoy coming to this Michoacana because my daughter loves the Tostilocos and the aguas frescas. We've always had pleasant experiences here, which is why this visit was so disappointing. This past week, my daughter and I walked up to the counter to place our order. An employee named Rocio asked how she could help us. My daughter ordered Tostilocos and politely requested that they go light on the chamoy because too much makes the chips soggy. Rocio responded with, "Entonces qué o qué?" ("Then what?") in a rude and impatient tone. I repeated the request and politely asked if she could please go light on the chamoy sauce. She looked directly at me, ignored what I said. Afterward, when it was time to pay, Rocio asked my daughter if she wanted a bag. My daughter said, "No, thank you." I assumed she wanted to eat inside the shop, but she actually planned to eat them in the car because we still had errands to run. I told my daughter to go back and ask for a bag so she could place it underneath the Tostilocos while eating. When my daughter asked for a bag, Rocio responded in Spanish, "Ahora sí," which translates to, "Now you want one," again with an unnecessary attitude. Everyone else we've encountered at this Michoacana has always been friendly, welcoming, and kind. Unfortunately, Rocio's customer service was the complete opposite. We all have difficult days, but that's not an excuse to be rude to paying customers, especially a child who was polite throughout the entire interaction. We are regular customers and almost always leave a tip in the tip jar because we appreciate good service. This was the first time we chose not to, simply because the service did not reflect the welcoming atmosphere we've come to expect from this location. I hope management addresses this so future customers have the positive experience we've always enjoyed in the past. read more

After today I must change my review . I witnessed employees not charging gloves after handling money after charging clients . They kept washing their gloves which is against health code. I was disgusted . They handle fruits to put into yogurts and other snack foods! They must use new gloves or properly wash hands. Do not .. I repeated .. do not wash gloves. That's so wrong. Come on now ! Gloves aren't expensive plus you could get people severely sick. You don't wash gloves .. you don't!!!! I stayed there to finish my snack and every single employee, rang someone up and then washed their gloves multiple times. Yes, not wash their hands and then put new gloves on. Nope ! Washed their dirty gloves over and over ..... and over again. One girl rang people and went straight to prepping. I'm sure the owner is aware of this and instructed staff to do this. If you are not Mexican, this place WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE YOU. For the entire duration of our time here, we were the only non-mexican customers. My fiancé and I am in (I'm Black and Asian, he's White and Asian) came in last night to get icecream. We waited in line, and when it was our time to enter, we did. Staff made eye contact and said "who's next?", we said "we are", and she proceeded to ask the couple BEHIND US what they wanted. For the next 20 MINUTES, we stood there infront of the icecream while staff took the orders or every Mexican customer behind us, even having half of them walk around us. We asked 3 times if someone could take our order, only to be ignored!!!!!!! Then we asked another girl working and she said "oh no ones helped you? I will after I finish this"- and did she? It comes in a to go tray. Ita delicious but be wary its not good to be taken in a car. I had it spill through the cracks onto my seat. Their other items are super delicious as well. Mangonada which is their mango slush with mango chamoy and chili pepper topping. My current go to is their Yogurt with fruit. Similar to Bionico but comes in a cup so it doesnt spill and fits in a cup holder. So good. If you love guava fruit and dont mind the seeds, their guava ice cream is amazing. Legit tastes like guava. Very disappointed with this place. My husband and I both got Tosti-Esquites one with hot Cheeto crumbs one without. They put the warm wet corn on top of the chips so they end up super soggy... and we ate them in the car, did wait very long. The hot Cheeto crumbs tasted very old and stale.
