Today it was easy buying an ice cream cake for a birthday. I called and they said they had a chocolate cake with mint ice cream and chocolate shaving available. I requested to pay for it and put my name on it and the person that answered said not to worry because there were plenty in stock. Sure enough when I arrived there were plenty of cakes in the freezer. The prices was decent and the owner offered to put my son's name on the cake. I have been frequently buying from this Cold Stone ice cream store. Early March the employees weren't wearing mask, but now they are. There is floor marking to social distancing and screen protector for the cashier. Also the front door says if there are more than 10 people in the store the next person is to wait outside. The parking is a little scarce, but it's free if you can find it. Overall, today was a good experience buying a ice cream cake

My favorite ice cream in the whole world but giving them 3 stars because this location forgot my cookie dough chunks

Cold Stone...Marble Slab...Cold Stone...Marble Slab. Life can be so hard sometimes...choosing between ice cream businesses. Location makes this Cold Stone an easy choice most of the time...it is much closer to my house than Marble Slab. I know the people who work here might hate me for saying this but to me Cold Stone and Marble Slab are basically the same business. It's hard for me to ever tell the difference. This Cold Stone is located in the downtown area of Oxnard which is the lone reason it gets 4 stars (the price does not help either). It isn't the most horrible area but you do worry about your car a bit. They have a very convenient parking garage for this shopping area right behind the store so you never need to worry about where to park. If you go here anytime in the near future you HAVE to try the caramel apple flavor ice cream. I mix it in with bananas...it is absolutely amazing. Just like marble slab it is a bit pricey...for two people it was a little over 10 bucks, so we do not go here a whole lot....but it is sure good when we do. :0)

A cool/sunny/breezy/winter day demands one thing: ICE CREAM. I asked the friendly clerk/gal behind the counter one question: "Is this good for people on a diet?" She responded promptly: "Yes it is." With such a big, encouraging smile on her face, I felt that it was time to give this place a go (at my waistline). At the urging of Miki L., my neighbor, I ordered a gallon...uhhh...a cup of a banana ice cream, real banana, caramel sauce, almond concoction that was.... DELICIOUS! And since it fits into MY DIET, I guess there's nothing more to say.

Across From Marriott, Dangerously Good Saturday, May 2, 2026…read more-- approx. 9:00 PM Handel's Ice Cream Just across from the Marriott sits Handel's, an ice cream institution that traces its roots back to Youngstown, Ohio in the 1940s. Nearly 80 years later, it has apparently survived the brutal Darwinian jungle of American dessert culture by deploying the sneakiest weapon known to mankind: really good ice cream. The setup is simple and efficient: walk-up windows, outdoor seating, striped awnings, and enough blue benches to suggest they fully expect a crowd. And on a Saturday night around 9 PM, the crowd was very much present--families, couples, kids, and assorted sugar Gypsies waiting patiently for their frozen destiny. The menu is impressively large without feeling chaotic. Cones, dishes, waffle bowls, sundaes, shakes, malts, hurricanes, floats, banana splits, pints, quarts, and novelty items all make appearances. I counted roughly 47 flavors, including horchata, blueberry cobbler, pineapple sorbet, and taro, all of which I sampled because journalism is dangerous and someone had to do it. The ice cream itself has a soft, rich texture--not icy, not gummy, not pretending to be artisanal with a beard and rent control issues. The flavors tasted fresh, distinct, and genuinely fun. Horchata was creamy and cinnamon-kissed; blueberry cobbler felt dessert-within-dessert; pineapple sorbet was bright; and taro had that smooth, mellow charm. The young man helping us was friendly, patient, and just a downright good chap, which matters when customers are staring at 47 flavors like they're defusing a bomb. I'd absolutely come back. The line already knew what I was about to learn. 5/5 -- sweet, smooth, and fully legit.

And let me tell you, when you're heading to an island for kayaking and hiking, securing food starts to feel less like lunch planning and more like wilderness survival strategy. The online ordering process, though, gave my husband a minor technological character-building experience. Not especially intuitive or user friendly. Then, on the morning of the trip, we weren't entirely sure where the lunches would actually appear. Tiny scavenger hunt energy. Thankfully, they were waiting for us at the ferry office, and we both immediately took the same relieved breath: "Excellent. We shall not perish on the island." The sandwiches themselves were genuinely delicious. I had the Caprese, my husband had the turkey baguette, and both were fresh, flavorful, and substantial enough to fuel actual adventure instead of just delaying hunger by 20 minutes. Each lunch box also came with chips, Fuji water, and a chocolate chip cookie that quietly stole the show. Soft, delicious, and exactly the kind of reward you want after hauling yourself around an island pretending you're far more athletic than you really are. By the time lunch was over, I was happy, full, and fully prepared for the next round of kayaking and hiking. Which is really the highest compliment an adventure lunch can get.

Ordered coffee and took our goods down the street to watch the seals. Only ordered the drip coffee, nothing fancy here, but it was excellent. Good roast on the darker side, my only concern are the lids. Hot coffee filled to the top and as I lift my coffee the lid pops off sprinkling coffee as I tried to reach the counter to set it down. The lid didn't fit tight, so I asked for another lid. It stayed on as I walked to my table, but popped off again as I left. The strawberry custard croissant was flaky, smooshy and the berry itself was a marvel of ripeness and color. If you read my other reviews, I have a thing for chocolate croissants. This one was flaky and perfect looking and the honey on the shell made the layers of laminated dough even better. My first few bites were non-chocolate filled and filled with air pockets between the layers of dough. Once I reached the thin layer of chocolate, it was underwhelming. I may have to go back again and give it one more try.
