Here is my original review: There was only one customer paying at the register when I walked in. I believe there were 4 employees behind the counter. Only one looks like she was working replacing some ice cream. None of them acknowledge me waiting. I was looking directly at them then one girl looked annoyed and asked me "what do want?" I was a little taken aback at first but gave her my order. Another male employee said he can ring me up while she makes it. I asked her if I could have some whipped cream and she just grunted. After I paid she handed it to me with no whipped cream. I said, "oh I'm sorry I asked for whipped cream" she just mumbled "yeah, I did" but it was clear to the eye there wasn't any whip cream on it. I said "ummm, no, there's not" we when back and forth a couple times with that silliness and then another employee finally asked, "did you want it on top?" I said "yes!" I'm not sure if it's a new cleaning protocol that they have or not, but every time I've ordered ice cream from this particular Cold Stone, it has had a soapy/cleaner aftertaste, especially in the Sweet Cream. Today it was easy buying an ice cream cake for a birthday. I called and they said they had a chocolate cake with mint ice cream and chocolate shaving available. I requested to pay for it and put my name on it and the person that answered said not to worry because there were plenty in stock. We took a chance and got them to cater my daughter's Quinceañera (I know not traditional); however, no one missed the cake. They were punctual, various flavors and toppings, great service and overall, a one-of-a-kind experience for our 160 guests. Do you know how hard it is to please 160 guests? And they did. Placed a simple order. Wrong items delivered. That in itself isn't an issue, but when I called to get it corrected or refunded, I got stonewalled. Basically told "we're too busy to help you" and "the manager will call" which did not happen. I called corporate and they said "Wait 48 business hours for your refund." The kids were excited to go but then got the ride reality that people do t like their job and don't know how to family act nice. And the restroom was closed? We went in one door and the gal behind the counter barked at us telling us it was the wrong door...so we proceeded to go into the other door and was told to "wait outside!!" Cold Stone...Marble Slab...Cold Stone...Marble Slab. Life can be so hard sometimes...choosing between ice cream businesses. Location makes this Cold Stone an easy choice most of the time...it is much closer to my house than Marble Slab. I know the people who work here might hate me for saying this but to me Cold Stone and Marble Slab are basically the same business. It's hard for me to ever tell the difference. This Cold Stone is located in the downtown area of Oxnard which is the lone reason it gets 4 stars (the price does not help either). It isn't the most horrible area but you do worry about your car a bit. They have a very convenient parking garage for this shopping area right behind the store so you never need to worry about where to park. If you go here anytime in the near future you HAVE to try the caramel apple flavor ice cream. I mix it in with bananas...it is absolutely amazing. Just like marble slab it is a bit pricey...for two people it was a little over 10 bucks, so we do not go here a whole lot....but it is sure good when we do. :0) read more

It's easy enough, you walk in and smell the fresh made waffle cones, choose your ice cream or signature ice cream, choose your size and bam. Easy peezy! As for ordering cake, you can do it online. If only all bakeries & ice cream shops can take on this concept. You choose your cake. I think the options are vanilla, Devil's Cake, or Red Velvet. Then your ice cream with up to three mix ins. I love Coldstone so much! I used to go often 2-3 years ago after my school ended but stopped since I went back to Japan for a year. They have Coldstone in Tokyo but I never went. After coming back to Oxnard though, I went to Coldstone and I was about to explode with happiness~. ^^ I had cheesecake flavor with some rainbow sprinkles and it was out of this world! I am not a huge ice cream fan but I've been to the Cold Stone many times since my fiancé is such a big ice cream lover that he drags me over there when the need hits him for specialty ice cream. This place has a lot of very strange/unique flavors you won't many place (like cotton candy that actually tasted exactly like cotton candy), they have all of those awesome mix-in ingredients and they are generally pretty fast at mixing and getting people out the door. I find the place a bit overpriced for an ice cream cone but I guess it's more about the novelty of crazy combinations and getting exactly what you want in the ice cream.
