So called banana muffin
Marie H.

Let me start off @ this Bakery Bought supposedly a Banana Muffin , well it turns out after I bought it and had couple of bites no bananas in it . So I called and asked about the banana muffin and turns out . Yes she says nope doesn't have banana its extract flavoring. And they call themselves a bakery , gosh just Ripping off the customer . Disappoint ing

OMG OMG .. these tamales are legit. So good! I am picky with tamales and don't appreciate the sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese and whatnots going on to be put on my tamales. I like to keep mine traditional. Do not .. I repeat .. do not .. mess with centuries of goodness! Although the state my family is from they do add cabbage and queso fresco but none of what I mentioned above. Service is quick . Place is clean and very popular. During the holiday , you'll see a line out the door for the tamales.

Very disappointed in this place. I don't know what happened, but the tamales used to be my absolute favorite! I would drive 20 minutes just to have them for breakfast. I've given them multiple chances to make a comeback, but every time I end up disappointed. The tamales are now about 5% meat and 95% masa. I even opened one up so you can see what I mean. It's really sad because I used to love this place, but I don't think I'll be trying them again.

To be honest I've never had anything but the food. The burritos and the tamales around the holidays. Everything is really on the spicy hot side. I wish it wasn't so that way I could enjoy my meal. I'll still come back from time to time so see if they toned down the spicy/hot level, but I can only hope.

1st time here... i was craving conchas and I wanted to buy some fresh baked bread. Everything was really good and did taste fresh. The ladies at the counter were friendly and greeted me as I walked in. They were helpful while I was deciding on what to order. I want to go back and try their tamales and more food options.

although the tamales, burritos, and bakery items are igood, they make it clear that white people are not welcome.

Ordered mass a week in advance. Went to pick it up day before Easter and they had no masa. Luckily La Central had enough and it was great.

This cafe is sooo beautiful- I truly feel like I'm somewhere in Europe in a large open patisserie…read more It is typically super crowded her, so if you can find seating, count yourself lucky. I love their pastries, but the recent price increases do make them a luxury item. Kouign Amann are my fave, but any of their croissants are also great. I haven't really tried their drinks. Had a Hot chocolate at the Camarillo location, and they even had a little latte art in the milk foam. A beautiful space to enjoy, but pricey overall. Service is usually fine, not overly friendly but that is also due to being so busy that they need to move the lines quickly and efficiently. At Camarillo, the server was much more talkative and friendly because it wasn't crowded when I went.

The food wasn't very good! I ordered the Spring Salad…read morepictured below Supposed to be...Spring greens, strawberries, blueberries, toasted pistachios with balsamic vinaigrette. Served with a warmed goat cheese crostini. No mention of melons it had a few slivers of strawberries. Overall taste not very good. Had my mom try it too she was unimpressed. She had the chicken salad. She said it was just chicken with mayo. The croissant was dry. The iced tea tasted like coffee unfortunately. The gentleman that delivered our food just plopped the plates down and walked away. No gluten free options only macaroons! First time at this location normally go to Camarillo and TO so I was expecting the same great food and service. There was a napkin on the ground directly under our table. The ledge by window was dirty! Just disappointing!

Wow... I've tried a LOT of coffee shops, but I did not expect this one to leave me speechless when…read moreit came to the coffee itself I had been recommended this place over and over again, so I finally decided to check it out--and the hype is definitely real. From the outside, it honestly looks like just a Mexican bakery, but it's so much more than that. As you walk in, the coffee shop is right at the entrance with a couple of tables, a beautiful mirror, and some side seating. I do wish the aesthetic was a bit more "picture-worthy," but it's still a nice space overall. When I went (Saturday morning), it was PACKED. To the right, you have the bakery section and omg... it smells amazing. They have all kinds of Mexican pan dulce and fresh cookies--so hard to choose! Now let's talk about the drinks We ordered their special, the Baby Milo, and WOW--I was obsessed. Not only was it delicious, but it was also beautifully presented. I also tried the strawberry matcha, and let me just say... I am NOT a matcha girl, but this drink completely changed my mind. It was creamy, smooth, and didn't have that strong grassy taste at all (which I loved). Of course, I had to get my usual: a sugar-free vanilla oat latte, and it did not disappoint. Super creamy, flavorful, and just perfect. From the bakery, I picked up their walnut powdered cookies, and you could immediately taste how fresh they were. They literally melted in your mouth. I was so sad they only came with five Overall, such a great experience. Amazing drinks, fresh pastries, and definitely worth the hype. I would 100% recommend this spot to anyone!
