Came in because it was the only place open early and I enjoyed my experience here. It's a very small storefront with an ordering counter, and you order and stand outside to wait if there's a line and they bring it out to you. There was an ongoing line the whole time we were there. We got an asada burrito, 3 different tamales, chicken quesadilla, pumpkin concha, and donut with blue glaze. Everything was good, the tamales were moist and have a good balance of meat masa, and the donut was different but also really good. Got this recommendation from a fellow yelper. Glad I went by to check it out. Inside is super small, you walk up to the counter and order what you want. They have such a wide variety of deliciousness they sell. Service was quick and friendly. We walked away with four red tamales, a bag full of bread and a large champurrado. It was super good. Best jelly roll I have ever had. The tamales were flavorful and not too spicy. The Champurrado was creamy, thick and you could taste all the spices. It was very good. A couple of years ago, I was craving champurrado on a summer night but couldn't find a bakery or taco truck that served it--until I stumbled upon this place. Very disappointed in this place. I don't know what happened, but the tamales used to be my absolute favorite! I would drive 20 minutes just to have them for breakfast. I've given them multiple chances to make a comeback, but every time I end up disappointed. The tamales are now about 5% meat and 95% masa. I even opened one up so you can see what I mean. I used to frequent this place often because I always bought fresh baked bread. Not now!! The past several times that I've been there,they have been selling stale bread or day old! Very disappointing that they are not letting myself and I'm sure others know that they are going to sell you stale old bread. Many donut shops have lower prices for day old donuts that they are selling and they let you know that is a choice you have. They don't just knowingly sell them as "fresh" just to make money. Food 1star Vanessa is better Pan dulce 3.5stars better than Vanessas on A st. But not as good as it used to be. Since La Doña retired and hired the baker. She now makes eg elotitos with the anise like la doña did. Before she didn't. My other fav is Sesos pan. It's good here but getting smaller. Still priced on dollar less than Vanessas that bread doesn't have flavor at all. Burrito here is terrible. I shoulda gone to Vanessa's on A str for the burrito. And the ladies should be as fun and hospitable to their female customers as they are to the male customers. It was my first time there and the girl in the front all she was doing was complaining to her coworkers that she had been on register all morning and I even said this is my first time here.. also the two coconut cookies I asked for weren't in my bag when I came home. My wife just bought a chile verde burrito, which is what they told her it was and it had not one bit of flavor of chile verde. it had nopales , old hard rice , the meat "PORK" was so dry and tuff, and it was $10. this was the most awful , disgusting burrito i have ever eaten. Please just work on your bread and stop skimping in the cream in side of the breads please . And stop making food because it's not good at all. I will never buy food from this place again. I love this little bakery! They make great Mexican pastries and they put enough sugar in for my gringo taste buds. Their pastries are sweeter than 99% of Mexican bakeries I've been to, and taste like they're made with really good ingredients. My husband and I love their coconut macaroons - they taste like they're made with real sugar instead of corn syrup. My other favorite are the Palmier style cookies. I always stop here when I'm in this shopping center. The other thing I love are their prices. VERY inexpensive. I can get a huge bag of cookies for just a few bucks.
