Stale old bread

I stopped by this morning and unfortunately the cinnamon rolls and the bolillo I received was very stale. The bread was dry and hard, and it tasted like it had been sitting out for a while rather than being fresh. I was really looking forward to trying this bakery based on the reviews, but this visit was disappointing.

Chicken torta with coke

Amazing tortas, good selection of drinks and amazing salsa. Will be coming back when I eventually come thru santa paula again.

Was drive thru, and saw this place. Look them on yelp and reviews where good so I order a torta de carne asada. Carne was cheap quality meat, no flavor. Poured a bunch of chile to get some flavor. Was not impressed.

Pork tamale = delicious! It was worth the drive. The woman that took our order was sweet and patient.

Horrible customer service!!!!! Never will be back lady serving the bread has horrible attitude. She said her name was Maria...... sad that a business that I been coming since I was 10 year old became this bad.

$29.99, for a dozen. Probably should place order ahead. They were sold out on 12/21. Choices of tameles: beef, pork, chicken and ch.

I don't have any recent pictures of my last trip, because I devoured my food. When my family was station away from California, and returned to SP we always made a ritual to stop by LA Unica for tamales, pan dulce or a burrito. Now my son is station near Boston and his request was LA Unica. We ordered a dozen tamales, and they were so moist. I didn't even need to drown the tamales with salsa. My son said they were so much better than traders Joe's (of course) which is the most convenient tamales he can find to his home. Did you know LA Unica serves Avena (creamy oatmeal)? It's the best Avena that comes close to my abuelita's (may God rest her soul). Oatmeal drenched in a rich cinnamon and vanilla flavor is the best oatmeal like no other, and they serve it up right here (to go of course). They put it in a coffee cup, so you can store it in your cup holder to enjoy at your desk or kitchen table. But their pan dulce, OMG. The bread was so fresh and soft inside. With a crisp sugar around the edges. I wouldn't expect my food not to be fresh here, because this place is so busy, rotating the freshness. There was a line outside this last visit. The parking lot is small. Rite Aid is next door, maybe park there...I believe there was one disabled parking spot. After my son practice his Spanish by placing the order, we waited outside for the order. Mask are recommended, but there were some people that were maskless. The cashier didn't require for them to put a mask on, and no one else gave a damn.

Looks messy but the taste is AMAZING! Super Torta de Carne Asada

The bread tasted like a day or two old, was not fresh at all. I got 4 pieces of small bread for $9, a bit pricey if you ask me.

Five star tamales. The beef tamales truly stand out, but the pork and chicken are savory goodness too! Try the hot red salsa.

Great bread, selection is smaller than other panaderias. Great service, breads are no longer self serve.
