The Masa line down the street at 6:00am on the 24th.
Michael R.

Even though the rumors of the moldy bread are true, the masa has been consistently good for the last 26 years we have been buying it there. There is one exception to this, the sweet "prepared" tamale masa is gross, both the pineapple and the strawberry flavors are just gross. The line for mass around the holidays can get a little long but the staff there do a great job of keeping it moving fast. There have been some cold mornings and once in a while the owners grow a heart and offer warm coffee to the people in those lines. I wish I could give them a higher rating but as a Panaderia, most of their business is based on the bread they sell, and if they can't do that right then it's hard for me to rate them higher. For now, I will keep patronizing them at the very least once a year or when ever we get a craving to make tamales!

Stopped in at this bakery a couple weeks ago since I happened to be parked on the same street. The man woking there was so friendly and it was an absolute pleasure talking to him. I purchased a niño envuelto an a pack of their fresh corn tortillas. Highly recommend you stop in and pick up a few items!

Great Mexican bakery! I love their sweet bread and Mexican hot chocolate. Best to come when it first opens to get the fresh bread. It's kinda slow when it comes to service because it's a small business but the bread is worth it. By the way they only speak Spanish but they'll understand your English

Yes, FRESH tortillas are the attraction here, as well as the voluminous variety of pastries. That's not why I come to this downtown Oxnard bakery though. In its own little corner of the shop there are fresh tamales. You can have those EVERY day (They're open from 5am - 7pm), not just weekends :) There are 4 kinds to choose from: Puerco (pork), Queso (cheese), Pollo (chicken), & Frijoles Negros (black beans). They are $2 each. My favorite is pollo, although it seems that's the least favorite for everyone else, because pollo is the only option left when I come later in the day. They're of average size, but filled with meat and taste delicious. The ladies helping me are always friendly and assist me with my broken Spanish. So I get yummy tamales and free Spanish lessons. I'm alright with that! ASIDE: Shout out to Estela M.!!! She says this place also rocks the MASA (tamale dough). Lines for the masa can be long like a Disneyland ride @ peak masa buying times! Wow, my Asianness had no idea. Thanks for the knowledge Estela! She's MY yelp-friend :)

If I could give them NO stars I would! Double check your empanadas! The one I got had mold. Called an owner is in Mexico Left a message to the son and has not called back. Don't want my money back just want to show them what they are selling.

Best flour and corn tortillas in Oxnard. Very authentic taste and at great prices. Lots of sweet bread to choose from too. They also offer tamales which taste very good

The best place to get your lotto tickets!

I love their pastries, but the recent price increases do make them a luxury item. Kouign Amann are my fave, but any of their croissants are also great. I haven't really tried their drinks. Had a Hot chocolate at the Camarillo location, and they even had a little latte art in the milk foam. A beautiful space to enjoy, but pricey overall. Service is usually fine, not overly friendly but that is also due to being so busy that they need to move the lines quickly and efficiently. At Camarillo, the server was much more talkative and friendly because it wasn't crowded when I went.

Served with a warmed goat cheese crostini. No mention of melons it had a few slivers of strawberries. Overall taste not very good. Had my mom try it too she was unimpressed. She had the chicken salad. She said it was just chicken with mayo. The croissant was dry. The iced tea tasted like coffee unfortunately. The gentleman that delivered our food just plopped the plates down and walked away. No gluten free options only macaroons! First time at this location normally go to Camarillo and TO so I was expecting the same great food and service. There was a napkin on the ground directly under our table. The ledge by window was dirty! Just disappointing!

From the outside, it honestly looks like just a Mexican bakery, but it's so much more than that. As you walk in, the coffee shop is right at the entrance with a couple of tables, a beautiful mirror, and some side seating. I do wish the aesthetic was a bit more "picture-worthy," but it's still a nice space overall. When I went (Saturday morning), it was PACKED. To the right, you have the bakery section and omg... it smells amazing. They have all kinds of Mexican pan dulce and fresh cookies--so hard to choose! Now let's talk about the drinks We ordered their special, the Baby Milo, and WOW--I was obsessed. Not only was it delicious, but it was also beautifully presented. I also tried the strawberry matcha, and let me just say... I am NOT a matcha girl, but this drink completely changed my mind. It was creamy, smooth, and didn't have that strong grassy taste at all (which I loved). Of course, I had to get my usual: a sugar-free vanilla oat latte, and it did not disappoint. Super creamy, flavorful, and just perfect. From the bakery, I picked up their walnut powdered cookies, and you could immediately taste how fresh they were. They literally melted in your mouth. I was so sad they only came with five Overall, such a great experience. Amazing drinks, fresh pastries, and definitely worth the hype. I would 100% recommend this spot to anyone!

I ordered the sugar-free vanilla oat latte, and my brother-in-law got the cold brew with milk. I also picked up a Dubai chocolate cookie and a chocolate croissant. The coffee never disappoints--there's so much flavor in every sip, with a subtle hint of honey that really stands out. You honestly just have to try it. They also offer seasonal drinks and fun specialty drinks, including ones with cereal, which adds a unique touch. The pastries are just as amazing. The cookie was perfectly balanced--not overly sweet, just right. The chocolate croissant, especially when warmed, is incredible. The chocolate melts perfectly, giving you the perfect bite every time. Overall, the food is great and the coffee is outstanding. Customer service is just as impressive. Ethan is usually there whenever I stop by, and he's always so welcoming and patient, especially when we take our time deciding on drinks. He never disappoints. I also love sitting in--the space is very cozy and makes you feel right at home. They offer both indoor seating and a nice outdoor option if you want some fresh air. I'll definitely keep coming back
