I've been coming here for years and I usually love the avocado smoothie because it taste really fresh and Boba is soft. I think it was best in town, But today it tasted very different--almost like artificial powder instead of real avocado, very watery tasted like sugar water. Stopped here at lunch for a quick smoothie. Just one other patron and one girl working this shift. The place in small but a large parking area outside since it's in the same shopping area as Walmart. Decently clean but minus one star for all the old and faded paper notices. One dead orchid, too. Gives the run down vibes. Smoothie is not fresh fruit obvi but you come here for the boba and sealed cup so... that was good. Plenty of options available. I opted for the piña colada. Came here the other day for a quick boba pit stop with some friends. I had no idea this location was here until a friend mentioned we give it a try as she was craving boba. Boba Smoothies store has a large menu. It's actually pretty impressive. They have every fruit or combination you can think of, so there should be something for even your pickiest taste buds. They have classics like milk tea, strawberry smoothies - to some more unique flavors like avocado and Oreo. I wanted to be on the safe side so I went with a boba milk tea. The girl working behind the counter was very friendly and nice. Great service but they also weren't busy. Either way I appreciate a kind smile and someone with a little hustle in their step to get our drinks made. Drinks came out quickly and we sat inside to enjoy our drinks. All three of us gals ordered different drinks and we were all super impressed in terms of flavor! Our drinks were yummy and the boba was perfect (sometimes random boba shops have sketch boba balls). This place was on point. If your craving boba or a smoothie this is a good place to come. The only reason I docked a star was it came to $19 for three drinks. Seemed pretty expensive to me but I guess it's comparable to a Starbucks. I just felt like a class milk drink running me $6 would have been better suited at $3.95. We came here wanting boba and this place is known for the smoothies so we decided to try and get a blended drink with boba. When we came in they had music going which was nice because it is a tiny place so it would've been really awkward just standing there in silence as we tried to decide what to order. I am very disappointed after coming here for so many years. Their value has really been bad. A drink is now costing more than $7.00 with their credit card fee, which shouldn't be a thing during COVID and their light ice fee. Can say with full confidence, the worst boba drink I've ever had and I've had boba all around the US, Asia, and parts of Europe. Boba had no real flavor and was overcooked, so it wasn't very chewy. I got a basic drink, just a jasmine milk tea and when I took the first sip I almost gagged. The drink itself tasted like the smell of rubbing alcohol except milky. I only went because some people said they were pretty good and since there aren't so many boba shops in the area, they don't have much to compare to. If they are going to charge $4.75 for a large boba, they should at least make sure its not a watered down version of that flavor. I came in May 10th and was totally disappointed. I swear Ventura lacks a variety of food/drink choices, so after dwelling in disappointment at Toki Restaurants lack of Ramen (which is what they were advertising like a 2 dollar hooker on the corner as their main focus dish), I decided I wanted Boba. I think I was more siked for the Boba than the smoothie (though I love Taro), but that nonetheless didn't really help my opinion of my drink. The Taro smoothie was not smooth at all grainy with a weird after taste, the what is supposed to be gelatin tapioca sweetness shooting up my over sized straw was mixed with what seemed to be dried out pieces. I used to enjoy coming to get my thai tea boba because they used to make it fresh and NOT PRE-filled ans their thai tea was good. Once pre-made, its not good anymore. I can tell the difference in taste and the milk has already settled in. I asked the owner if a costumer can still order not prefilled and he said "NO" as thai tea is a popular drink and it takes time and prefilled is faster. It MAY be faster but quality is not the same. So if they have a popular drink, they are just going to start making it for that day and sell it when its gone? Its not doughnut or burgers (even that has time period). My daughter and I stood in the line for 10 mins before someone even came out to ask us what we would like.
