Yum .. friend rice
Erica G.

The portions are huge! I ordered the friend rice and had food for a few days! My rice was packed with all the yummy ingredients - Chinese sausage, veggies , eggs and etc. Service was prompt. It was not busy when I stopped by on a Friday around 1pm. Cool spot with a beautiful murals. There's plenty of seating indoor and outdoors. Only negative was that there were men smoking at the tables outside. It was right by the door so I could smell the cig smoke. I would just want more mindfulness for those of us that don't want to be exposed to second hand smoke :/ It's a great locally owned spot! I will def be back.

Pho tai

Solid pho spot that never misses. I usually get the pho tai with or the beef vermicelli bowl, and both are consistently good. The broth is flavorful, the noodles are cooked right, and the meat is always super tender. I've also tried the eggrolls, spring rolls, fried wontons, rice dishes and those were also delicious. Portions are generous and customer service is always great. Definitely a go-to when I'm craving Vietnamese food.

So excited to have Saigon Kitchen To Go so close to home! If you're a fan of Pho Saigon, you already know what's up. I've been following this amazing family since their days at the Bobilu Center off Saviers, and I'm thrilled to see their consistent quality and warm service continue here. The staff is always friendly and helpful, making every visit a pleasant one. Just a heads-up: this spot is their "To Go" location so it's on the smaller side, so if you're looking for the full dine-in experience, head over to their Port Hueneme restaurant, but it still delivers the same authentic flavors. My go-to dishes? The Pho Dac Biet (been ordering this soup for 20 some plus years), the Fried Tofu, and the Rice Plate with Crispy Chicken. Each dish is packed with flavor and made to perfection. Don't question it, just come and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

Love this place! Authentic Vietnamese Food and cute place. Location is not the best and I say this because it's easy to miss. Inside the same plaza as Toppers pizza. Otherwise, plenty of parking. I believe this restaurant is in connection with another local Vietnamese restaurant in Oxnard.

Been meaning to visit Saigon Kitchen To Go since they opened last year. Located next door to Ragin' Boba, which is also in the same plaza as the Toppers on Gonzales & Oxnard Blvd. Plenty of free parking that's shared with other businesses. They have both indoor & outdoor seating. I wasn't expecting to see any tables, since the name presents itself as a To Go spot. Noticed a lot of people ordering food To Go. It's pretty casual here... Just don't expect any table side service. Just when they bring you your order. The young girl at the counter was friendly. When opting to eat here, you order at the counter, pay & seat yourself. Be patient, they're making your yummy food to order. Then they bring your food to you. Plastic Utensils & disposable chopsticks used here. Food is served in To Go bowls, which is perfect for me, Bec I usually have leftovers... Plus side of the To Go Bowls, Bowls are microwaveable!! I'm glad I finally got my Egg Noodle Soup Fix. It came out piping Hot & it was Goood!! Definitely hit the spot. I ordered #25 Wonton & Seafood Egg Noodle Soup. Glad I was able to add extra veggies to my soup. I'm definitely coming back to try their Pho next!

Lauren is patient and super helpful when it comes to placing orders here at SKT. She keeps SKT running in the front in a clean and orderly fashion. She's nonstop, friendly, and a sweet vibe. We still come by, though not as frequently as we'd like due to work schedule. But when we get the chance, we still get our usual- #21 with extra noodles and #50 for their chicken. Egg rolls are a must, of course! If you've been contemplating to try it, this is your SIGN. Your tastebuds will thank you!

***Saigon Kitchen to go: If youre looking for local delicious authentic Vietnamese food, look no further! -I absolutely LOVE Vietnamese food so was super excited when my Husband told me about it. It is an extension of the popular Original Port Hueneme Pho. The difference is the intention for this restaurant is the food is to go. It's a cute & cozy spot, very clean and great accessible parking. You'll find it next to the Toppers on Gonzalez and Oxnard Boulevard. Although it is "to-go", we asked if we could eat there, they said sure! A few others did the same and they served our meals in to-go plates. Service was great & our food came out in perfect timing. -Our order: (#3 and #59) We had the spring rolls with peanut sauce which is tradition! & the charbroil beef, egg roll with veggies and vermicelli bowl, I love how they sprinkle lots of peanuts & fried onion on top it just takes the flavor up a notch. The portions are generous and sharable, fresh ingredients too. Can't wait to try their soups! -OMG, it was chefs kiss! I think I have found my new fave spot! 10/10 stars! You can definitely tell the food was made with love!

Beef was just ok. Should be charred more, or marinated more or both. Very bland beef.

7/10 Mid Got grilled beef bun, they do give generous portions and the egg roll was great. The beef wasn't my favorite and the noodle to fish sauce ratio was off. A generous amount of food, just needs more sauce. No herbs in my bun aka rice noodle salad (no mint, no basil or cilantro) which was a bummer. I also got a side of the pho broth to sip on, not bad either. Better than I expected ! I liked it enough to come back if it was convenient but wouldn't go out of my way.

Food: it tastes authentic Vietnamese food. Seafood is cooked to perfection. The noodles needed a little more sauce for more flavor. Service: it was fast to place our order with the cashier. He was very kind and took our order no issues. Ambiance: there is plenty of seating and plenty of parking in the plaza.

Mom enjoying pho for the first time. Delicious!

WOW! Looking for a place to have lunch while running errands in Oxnard. Pulled into this little shopping center it was tacos or Asian. Tacos only took cash so Asian it was! So happy! We ordered Pho with shrimp, Mom first time having it! It was OUTSTANDING! I had noodles with shrimp and veggies also delicious. Highly recommend! Will be back!

Great bowl of pho! I ordered the #10 pho tai nam (rare and well cooked beef). The broth was piping hot, the side herbs and bean sprouts were fresh and crisp, and the lime slice was huge. The brisket was of good quality, the broth tasted clean and light, and there was a lot of meat...I got really close to finishing the bowl but couldn't. There are a handful of tables for dine-in and some high top seating. I was here on a Saturday afternoon and there were lots of to go orders. Located in the same plaza as toppers on Oxnard blvd and Gonzales rd with lots of parking. I'll be back!

Pho Tai Gan- Beef and tendon noodle soup

Saigon Kitchen Togo is such a great place to satisfy your pho craving. The whole layout of the restaurant is mainly set to be takeout since there weren't that many tables offered, but I decided to eat it there. I got the beef and tendon pho dish and it was piping hot, had great flavor, and the beef and tendon were tender. The noodles were as well to my liking. I really enjoyed eating this dish especially since it was such a cold day outside. It really helped warm me up. I also got it with some egg rolls which also were hot and fresh. I wish I tried the rice dish too because it looked delicious on Yelp. I will most definitely be back for that and to try other food they offer on their extensive menu.

Spring roll (shrimp and pork)
Alex W.

Tucked in a small plaza, we came to try the place. Parking isn't too bad, but close-by spaces are limited and tight. Even though it's a To Go kitchen, there is an option to dine inside. Only thing is that the food is prepared for To Go so the food comes out in To Go boxes. Not a big deal as you now have the box ready to go if you couldn't finish your food. In total, we had a Spring Roll (shrimp and pork), Beef Pho, a broken rice dish, and a Bun. A wide variety of food and they weren't bad in our opinions. The quantity was ample and decent compared to the price being paid. The flavors hit the right marks for each of the food, but I wouldn't say they are the best. The Pho's is a bit on the more mellow side in terms of depth of flavors. The Spring Roll's vegetables inside were fresh, but didn't have a strong crunch. The Broken Rice Dish, while ample, the pickled vegetables and Egg Cake were lacking in their individual flavors. IE: The pickled vegetables weren't pickled enough. The Bun was ample too and my wife couldn't finish it. The fish sauce given was great in my opinion in that it definitely packed a punch. Not much service as you order at the counter and they just bring the food to you. All in all, I would want to come give them a try again in the future because they are still decent and great bang for the buck. Worth a try!

5/5 -- A Hidden Treasure in Oxnard!…read more If you're hunting for a true comfort-food haven this winter, Ozeki Noodle is the little gem you'll want to keep all to yourself... but it's way too good not to share. The ambience is calm, clean, and quietly inviting--like Oxnard's own little pocket of Japan. The service? Warm, attentive, and wonderfully efficient. You know what truly makes this place? The authentic food. Every dish feels crafted with care. I love being able to sit down with a steaming cup of hot green tea, the most delicious tempura, a spicy tuna hand roll that never misses, and a bright, refreshing seaweed salad--without having to wait forever for seating or service. If you're starving, this is where you want to land for fast, delicious comfort. And the star of the show: the chicken bowl. I promise you will not find a chicken bowl this good anywhere else. Tender, flavorful, and so satisfying it deserves its own fan club. The tempura? Feathery, crisp perfection--easily the best in Ventura County. No exaggeration needed. Their miso is a warm winter hug, and the combo with the chicken bowl + rice + a large bowl of udon is the definition of cozy luxury. The broth is rich, the noodles are plush and filling, and you'll leave full with leftovers to smile at later. If you want authentic Japanese comfort, fast service, and food that feels like it was made just for you, Ozeki Noodle is your new cold-weather sanctuary.

I stopped by a couple of times to get the lay of the land, kinda sorta, and tried it a couple of times. I loved the choices and everything looked fresh. During my most recent visit, I had a chance to speak with Junior and Angel. These guys really helped me make some better, more enjoyable decisions and my wife and I truly enjoyed our meals. It was clear to me that these guys wanted us to be satisfied and did everything they could to make it so. They truly seemed to care about the product and it made me feel that much better about my decision to eat there. I am going back there again, because of these two people. Pro tip: You decide on your sauces at the outset. I'm glad they offer minced garlic. When you mince garlic and store it like that, garlic slowly loses its flavor so to get that garlic punch that we crave, don't be afraid to ask for more. Much more! (I get five scoops!) Pro tip #2: Careful on that spicy sauce! Use too much and it will be overpowering. Pro tip #3: Like a great pizza with lots of topping options, too much is just too much. Be selective in your meat and veggie choices. The tendency is to pile it on, and I, for one, love doing that, but it can be too much of a good thing. A little bit less makes for a tastier outcome. I am slowly training myself to be more selective (it's not working...). Pro tip #4: If you're thinking about lunch, get there when they open. The options look fresh and inviting. You'll miss the rush. Going back today!

Ambiance- seating inside is generally small tables close together and the dining area is on the smaller side. An open kitchen area is behind the counter, but they also have more kitchen space behind in the back. They layout really reminded me of Tokyo Ramen houses that are designed for solo single eaters (as a lot of Tokyo casual dining is). During my meal, the majority of us at tables were solo eaters, only 1 other table had 2 diners. So I imagine if you're a larger party it, it may be hard to get seating at busier times due to smaller number of tables. Ordered- Tokatsu ShuShu ramen. The noodles were springy and bouncy. The broth is creamy and tasty. I still think I really enjoy Silverlake Ramen's Tonkatsu broth (I don't know what their secret ingredient is that makes it unique) but URamen's is still satisfying. I had 4 pieces of Chashu, 1/2 of a seasoned soft boiled egg. The yolk is seasoned in a very sweet sauce- interesting taste. They add a wonton crisp which is unusual for Ramen bowl! I would've like nori crisp but that's ok. Service- One server was taking care of the lunch crowd. The owners are Thai, and I believe the server is also Thai. She was quite polite. Usually I think most Thai restaurants offer that super kind, and humble service to customers. (I say this as Korean Ame, it's noticeably different than immigrant run Korean or Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants) I do prefer the taste of Silverlake Ramen, BUT they have even more limited seating. The parking and access here is easier and quicker than going to the Collection Annex, so I think this is another solid Ramen place. Note- They are closed on Mondays, and closed between 3-5pm everyday. The first time I came, was during their closed time.

I was really impressed that he could handle the whole store himself and still keep up a really positive attitude!! The food was really good! It also doesn't provide that traditional hotpot experience which I find much more enjoyable. However in VC options are limited, so when I saw Tasty Pot recently opened I was quite ecstatic! There were 12 different pots and 5 spicy levels to choose from. Pot numbers 1-7 were smaller size and numbers 8-12 were larger size pots. Except for the Healthy Veggie pot, all the soup base was pork broth. Most of the pots also had very similar ingredients, the difference I could see were the main protein choice and soup flavor. They also have another menu for rice and noodle options if you didn't want to do the personal pots. We got the Taiwanese Supreme in mild and the Seafood Lobster in medium. We also got a side of quail eggs. The pots arrived with a candle of some sort below to keep it hot. Both pots were of the larger size and filled with lots of food. The mild was the perfect level of spicy for me, a hint of spice that does not overpower the original flavor of the ingredients, rather it enhanced each one and made it more tasty. Service was good, our server came by frequently to check on us and to refill the soup. At one point the flame under the pot had already gone out but we hadn't cook the noodles so we requested another flame. We were told they had to bring the pot back to the kitchen to heat it up. So I guess the flame was there to just keep the pot warm rather than actually cooking. Although this cannot compare to the traditional hotpot, this personal hotpot is still a very good option and helps to satisfy my craving.

Unnecessary but appreciated. I returned and ordered my usual Classic Tokatsu, and maybe there is a different broth for Blaze version. This time Classic broth tasted closer to what I happily remember. I also opted for grilled chicken option, and you get much more quantity chicken compared to chashu pork. This makes sense as chashu pork is labor intense. I'm raising back to 4.5 stars (even if I can't show that extra .5) I still place Silverlake and then URamen as my fave local options. I think this location primarily operates as take-out restaurant. There are maybe 5-6 tables available for dining there. There are surprisingly limited # of general tables to eat inside the Annex; may have better luck eating takeout at outside tables. Silverlake's tables are reserved only for those dining in, you can not sit at a table if you're waiting for your takeout order. I ordered the Blaze (tonkatsu broth) ramen. It didn't have that same special taste I remembered. Today my seasoned egg was missing, but that is not the reason for lowering a star. Overall, from what I remember, the broth does not have that same unique flavor; the noodles were still good and fresh tasting. I also had a chicken bao snack, and it did not have a freshly cooked taste; nothing stood out in the flavors. I expected it to have more punch with kimchi inside, but it was kind of flat. Ramen is packed very well for takeout; they have a great system of separating the broth, noodles and making it easy to re-heat ramen at home and mix it together in the larger noodles/ sides bowl. Still good ramen, but maybe the flavors and some quality has become more muted. * Note: I did not realize this until I saw the prices at the counter, but if you order online, prices are approx. 10% higher, probably to cover costs of takeout containers etc. Generally I have not seen higher prices for ordering ahead. It may be more cost-effective to order counter take out if you don't mind waiting in longer lines.

I'd love to see some occasional specials or slight price adjustments to make it more accessible. That said, I keep coming back anyway. The Garlic Truffle Ramen is just that good.
