So, if you're going to sit in, account for those things. Service was nice. Answered all my questions about ordering the chicken. Sprouted mongo: textures were good. Rice on the dryer side (I prefer mine sticky). Just lacked flavor for me; wanted more garlic, salt, ginger, onions flavors. Chicken: comes seasoned but not sauced. Seasoning was very sweet which I'd say is a very Filipino thing to do lol. Nice crisp and VERY large pieces. I'd say 1 piece is good for 1 person. Sauces: ordered separately and I believe priced separately as well. Both sauces I got were very pungent in smell (fish sauce mostly) but were not flavorful, in my opinion. The spicy sauce was, in fact, spicy.

Our order was waiting for us and the front staffer was nice and friendly. The restaurant is spacious with a homey, kitschy vibe and the front wall of windows were wide open. On a hot summer day, this would be a nice, airy place to eat in. We might eat there next time. 10 minutes later we were home and looking forward to digging into our chicken! We split a Large Bag o' Bites which were crispy, savory, and delicious breaded chicken breast pieces. We also got the three piece combo: two drumsticks and a thigh. We got everything non-spicy and found it all to be delicious, moist, and crispy. I am especially grateful that Cookie's makes their fried chicken WITHOUT DAIRY since I have a hard time digesting milk protein. Thank you, Cookie's for a filling and delicious dinner of fried chicken. We will be back!

Fry-tastic, But A Bit Bland On Flavor…read more Stopped in to Cookie's for a late mid-week lunch. The owner Brian Chandler was working the cash register and took my order. Very friendly, personable fella! Ordered the 3 Piece with Mash 'Taters + Chicken Gravy & the Tangy Slaw. Also got a BBQ & a Rowdy Ranch sauce. The chicken comes to your table piping hot, right out of the fryer with a great, crunchy batter. But candidly, it's not super flavorful. It would've been nice if they offered some dry seasoning alternatives you could apply in addition to the side sauces. Just off the top of my head, I would think that Garlic Parmesan, Cajun/Creole, Lemon Pepper, & Buttery Herb would add a lot of flavor to Cookie's chicken. As for the sides, the Tangy Slaw wasn't bad, but I ended up making it better by mixing in some of the Rowdy Ranch sauce. Also, the Mash 'Taters + Chicken Gravy was unimpressive, but got a nice boost when I mixed in some of the BBQ sauce. Overall, I'd say the food gets a 3.5, but since the owner was very nice and the meal was a good value at $22.34, I'm bumping up Cookie's to a 4.

It's actually worth bringing some friends so you don't get sad. In all seriousness, this is a place that I'm surprised I've never reviewed because I've had a solid experience here many times. It's also renowned across the city for its hot chicken prowess and dedication to the craft. I'll be straight up with you, there are better fried chicken places in Seattle. But there are only like 6 restaurants in Interbay, so it's worth stopping here if you're in the area to either hit golf balls or get a car wash. We decided to bring our book club here because we were reading Devil All The Time and this somehow seemed like an appropriate place to host a meeting. I always get the Seattle Hot, because my spice tolerance has greatly decreased with age (ever since my experience with hot chicken in Nashville which fully rotated my insides like a rotisserie chicken). Hot chicken is their expertise at S&B, so if you're up for the challenge they have some pretty spicy stuff. One of the attendees tried the level below reaper and said it was meant to be fed to babies, so try the reaper if you dare. The chicken itself is solid. The flavor doesn't blow you away, nothing is too dried out, but there isn't an explosive crunch either. On principle I am against a restaurant that charges for sauces, since there should at least be a few that come with your meal. Three tendies with no sauce at all is blasphemous. They really need a little something to take them to the next level, so you should order a couple of sauces in the side. I did thoroughly enjoy the bacon pieces that they added to my mac and cheese, these lil pork morsels were a delectable addition to the side dish. Overall an enjoyable experience every time I've come to S&B.

My favorite was their chicken sandwich, as the portioning was decent sizing. Chicken was crispy and tender. The bad part about the tenders were the portion. There was no garlic at all, but what I did get was a pretty large appetizer that did its job and more. The main dish, the hotstone beef bibimbap, was a lot worse. Firstly, this came with ground beef rather than the beef slices I was expecting. The rice at the bottom was dry like it should be in a clay pot, but lacking really any of that slightly-burnt, hard qualities that makes a clay pot rice what it is. It just tasted dry. But the ground beef was probably the worst part. It was dry, lacking in really any seasoning, and the portion was tiny. I'd finished the beef with still half the bowl remaining. This was not a bibimbap I would come back to at all. Overall, there are way too many better places in the international district for me to ever recommend this. 5/10

We decided to get a couple of Fried Chicken Sandwiches and shared an order of French Fries, may as well get a Rachel's Ginger beer too! You order at counter, pay, they give you a number, go sit down, they bring out the food to you. The chicken sandwiches are a good sized honker of a chicken sandwich, they do fry it extra crispy though. Wasn't dry on the inside but fried pretty hard. Super crispy! Same with the fries, they went extra crispy on that too. The bun fell apart on me after a few bites. All seasoned well, we didn't have any other issues. We got a side of the mustard dipping sauce, that was pretty good too, taste like horseradish was mixed it, had a little kick. Wash it down with a blood orange ginger beer, we were good to go! Overall, it was satisfying, we were full, glad to have checked Ma'ono out! Staff was friendly, didn't take long to get our food, prices are on the high side these days for a chicken sandwich but no buyer's remorse.

The employee I spoke with on the phone was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding throughout the whole situation. Huge shoutout to her for providing such excellent customer service! As for the food, I really enjoyed it! Everything arrived hot, fresh, and tasted wholesome. I tried the strawberry and mango lime juices--they were good, although not very sweet or flavorful. I'm guessing that's because they're made with less sugar. They also included a complimentary flan to make up for all the confusion, which was a very thoughtful gesture. Thank you!

Even the salsas did not help with the blandness. Now I usually get the 2 piece chicken meals. The bone in chicken has way more seasoning than the chicken they chop up & put into the bowls! Way more tasty. I've tried a few sides and the main sides I get is corn with flour tortillas. Now for the sides I don't like. The mac & cheese is terrible - tastes just like the type you would find in the Safeway or grocery store deli except with way more fake cheese. The mashed potatoes are meh - reminds me of kfc but worse. The rice is instant rice so there's that. I hope they change their rice to actual Mexican style rice one day. The churros are good! The service is friendly when there are actual adults there (weekdays during traditional work hours).
