This is just a food truck parked in a permanent location by a brewery, but it's been serving apparently good enough burgers that a lot of people have recommended it. They're known for their Oklahoma-style smashburger, which consist of patties smashed with onions. It's a unique style that I haven't had before. I liked this burger. The first thing you notice is the crispiness of the two smashed patties on the edge; something that's common in smashburgers is for the patties to feel thin and floppy, but the ones here have a real edge to them. Especially on the outside, you get quite a lacy crunch due to the craggly and distorted edges. I will say this firmness is mostly contained to the outside and doesn't extend inwards towards the center much, but it does its job. The onions being smashed into the burger also really works. The natural sugars from the onion sort of caramelize into the patty, giving it a unique flavor that's not just the meat. I did think the patties could have been seasoned better - some more salt could be used. The rest of this burger also works pretty well. The buns are lightly toasted, and super soft on the outside. The slice of American cheese is melted perfectly like how it should be on a classic smash. The pickles were a nice touch, but I do think some spice would've gone a long way. I did notice they had a jalapeno version of this burger, and I think that would be better than this one - as this one felt a bit heavy on the fat. For around 10 bucks for the double smash, it's honestly comparable to the price of like Shake Shack or something, but I would definitely say this is better. Smash That Burger is a food cart located in the Fremont Brewing courtyard. For some reason they take online orders only - there's no ordering in person. I guess one advantage the online system confers is that it gives an estimated time window for the food to be complete. My food arrived right in the middle of it. Oklahoma Smash ($10.50) - The two patties, both smaller 3oz portions, are smashed and griddled until a caramelized and rich beefy flavor develops. They aren't cooked long enough and aren't thin enough to develop those extremely thin and lacy edges, but have more than enough char to satisfy. The patties aren't salted too heavily, so they have a nice balance to bring out all the natural beef flavors. Thinly sliced onions are placed in between the patties - smashed inside, and also caramelized. It gives a really pleasing slightly sweet, very oniony flavor that goes so well with the beef. This combination of flavors should be way more popular - I'm surprised it's managed to mostly stay in Oklahoma all this time! On top is a creamy mix of cheese and burger sauce. It's rich and brings plenty of fatty moisture, with only a couple of pickles on top to help balance things out. The burger is constructed such that the flavors all meld together and nothing falls out while eating. (4/5) Spicy Fries ($6) - These are simply crinkle cut fries, deep fried until crisp, and then tossed in a salty seasoning salt mixture. I wouldn't really consider it spicy at all. There's not much else to say, it's just a well executed commercial fry. (4/5) Smash That Burger is a nice place to get a good smashburger. A new contender for best burger in Seattle! We dropped into the brewery on a Tuesday night and the smell of grilling onions wafting from the cart was enough to entice us to stay for dinner. We got one oklahoma and one pb&j. The online ordering system was easy and our food was ready in about 10 minutes, just enough time to grab a beer and settle in. The bun was wonderfully squishy and soft, complimenting the onion and patty and sauce on the oklahoma. The pb&j was a fun twist as well, I think I'm still partial to the pb and mayo version as the jam was a hair overpowering at times, I wish there was an option to sub in mayo there, but it was a fun and novel thing to try. We waited about 10 minutes for our burgers, which was okay because we were still in line for our beer! The double thin patties were seasoned well with a slight char on the edges. The burger came with thinly sliced onions, melted American cheese, pickles and their sauce on a soft bun. The flavors worked so well together to give you a tasty bite each time. The French fries were crisp and seasoned, and came in hot straight out of the fryer! The Oklahoma burger was delicious and it is the best smash burger that I've tasted. Combine the burger and fries with one Fremont Brewery's Pilsner and you have one heck of a meal in beautiful setting! We would definitely come back, but I think we would ride our bikes instead. I've been hesitant to lean into the smash burger craze. They've been getting more hype as a super food than sweet potatoes back in '08. I got the normal smash burger, and the saucy loaded fries. I was so excited that at this point I was having burger daydreams. When I was gifted the food, I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of heft. I was in for a voluminous meal, and I was fired up. I ripped the fries open first, and couldn't believe my eyes. Behold - French fry Nirvana. You know when you get brownie batter ice cream and there are HUGE chunks of brownie in it? This is the savory version. Massive chunks of smash burger, jalapeños, regular pickles, fried pickles, and some sort of mayo based sauce. These are a must order. You will not regret it. Now I will say that I'm partial to an unsmashed burger. While everyone has zagged into the thin patty realm, I'm always down for a juicy big hoss of a burg. But these two smashed patties had a crispiness that keeps you coming back. They just nailed it on all fronts. Smash That Burger is known for the Oklahoma style smash burger and it's more like inspired by it than a true to definition Oklahoma smash burger due to the onions. The origin of the burgers were to stretch the burger patty with the onions but here I didn't get a whole lot of onion. Typically there's a lot more since it's being pressed into the patty before cooking to still have that onion texture. The burger also had too much sauce for my taste so maybe it covered it up too. We got the Oklahoma, PB&J Bacon Burger, and fries. The Oklahoma was very dry even though there was sauce in it. The fries were soggy and lacked flavors. The Smashburger is delicious, but very messy. Mine had a ton of onions, so it was nice and flavorful. I like onions, but there was a good six or seven pickles, which was too many from my palette. We also got a single which was in my opinion, less messier and more manageable to devour. I love crinkle cut fries so I appreciated the fact that theirs were exactly that. It took maybe 5. The burgers were crispy and seasoned nicely and the cheese was melty. The bun was soft and not too bready tasting. The spicy fries were delicious. I'm not a spice lord by any means so I was a bit nervous but they were very mild. Sitting can be tough during busy hours as large groups of folks will set up shop and hang out at the table with beers. These Oklahoma Style Smashburgers are really yummy. I have recently been on a Smashburger hunt for the best one. My favorite is Daddyburgers in Tucson, AZ so far. I hold other places to this standard. I have tried the Smashburgers at Family Friend, Moss Bay Hall, Tipsy Cow and now, finally, Smash That Burger. By far, Smash That Burger is the best in the Seattle area (so far). The food truck atmosphere and the crunchy, onion-y flavored burgers served here ROCK! They are flavorful, satisfying and absolutely delish! They are my favorite in the Seattle area. We had the Oklahoma Smash (huh?) and got "The Chester" for my elderly mom to take home. Everyone loved their burgers. The prices are right and the server/cook was super thankful and friendly. I like this style of burger and the service was awesome. This food truck is in the parking lot of the lively Growler Guys right on Lake City Way in North Seattle. You have to try this place if you're anywhere close by. You won't regret it. read more

This is my third time trying Smash That Burger, and definitely the best experience I have had here. I previously tried their standard Oklahoma smash, and "The Chester" both of which I enjoyed but I didn't love. This visit I tried the Ultimate Jalapeño, and was highly impressed. Their menu is somewhat limited, but they do offer some fun variations of burgers and fries. My service wasn't nothing to special as the server doesn't even take your order. I put in a second order for fries as soon as I got my burger and realized they didn't come with fries and they came out before I could find a seat, sit down, and take a bite. Tasty smash burgers, a solid replacement for Burbs. Since it's a food truck, they don't have their own area but share Rooftop Brewery's ambiance (where the seats are extremely high for the tables). There's a very small parking lot so street parking will be one's best bet. No one has mentioned the peanut butter burger and I did want to try but I had to try their signature Oklahoma Burger. Oklahoma Burger - as mentioned, looks like this burger is one of their signatures, a simple smash burger with the best caramelized onions and some pickles. Currently residing at Growler Guys, which is my to go place for beers, it's like a dream come true. While Growler Guys has decent pizza and subs, they lack a burger, so STB fills in the gap and serves up some of the tastiest smashburgers that I have had. Both my dad and I had the Oklahoma, which incorporates onions. The double patties work well in this version so don't skimp out. crinkle cut fries are nice and crisp and we enjoyed the seasoned version.
