    Kimbap and ramen
    Irene H.

$5 Kimbap $10 Ramen was the best price I've ever seen in downtown Toronto. The kimbap was sliced razor thin and quite small but I was fine with that because I have a small appetite. Ramen had an egg thrown in with some veggies, can not mess up instant Ramen. It comes with side dishes and my favorite part was the self serve barley tea at the front! Great budget meal.

. UGHH SO CHEAPPP AND SUCH GOOD PORTIONS . me and my korean friend went and he said this place felt soo authentic . service was sweet cute grandma cooking and a really nice server . took 20 mins to wait for seating . in and out overall quick service and shop filled up quickly . space is particularly smaller but thats pretty normal . there was also a small take out table where you could grab food to take on the go quickly

Hands down best Korean pancake I've ever had (because it had a tasty dipping sauce that made it actually tasty and not just fried-tasting). I will say I've had way better pork bone soup cuz the soup-base tasted way too tomato-y and there wasn't any potato in it.

The name of this place literally translates to "aunt's house" and their food really does taste home cooked rather than like restaurant food. We got kimbap and jjolmyun and while they didn't taste bad, they didn't taste that great either unfortunately. The kimbap was quite bland and dry - I wish they could have put some sesame oil on top which is the traditional way to make it. The side dishes were also extremely salty. I guess you get what you pay for because their menu is very friendly priced. I did love the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. It really felt like I was over at a relative's place haha

One of the amazing, affordable Korean restaurants available in Koreatown. It can get busy but I believe they take reservations. There isn't a lot of seating inside so making a reservation might be better. We walked in and were able to get a seat but we had a strict seating limit since someone else booked the table after us. We got the Korean army stew and a beef kimbap to share which was plenty for two people. Both were delicious and we only added up spending around $30. It was a little bit on the salty side, but no complaints otherwise. Portions were generous and we even had leftovers. Additionally, they have special takeout cash deals can find on the posters on the windows. Washrooms are downstairs and inaccessible. Highly recommend checking out this restaurant

Very cheap and affordable comfort korean food. However, you get what you paid for, so the quality wasn't quite there. I had the tuna kimbap and seafood pancake. The pancake came at a great portion with a dip, but I wish it was crispier. The kimbap was kind of bland and lacked flavour. My friend had a bibimbap which came with cheaper ingredients than what other restaurants typical offer. Service was fine. The store is small with limited seating, but there was no wait when we went on a weekday evening.

I've been coming here since around 2010. This place is consistent, quick and friendly. My menu favourite is the delicious Kimchi stew. It's fairly small but it has its own cozy feel. Reasonably priced and good portions. Highly recommend for a casual lunch.

We stumbled into this Korean restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. It was around 3pm and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. They only have 4 tables available for seating. The prices of the menu was very affordable and they had really large portions. There was no tax as well, even though we paid with a credit card. They also had a variety of side dishes and was very generous when we asked for refills. The food was alright, it was more of an average home cooked style meal. It looked like a family owned business with an elder couple in the kitchen. The noodles texture was good and tasted home made, but there wasn't much seafood in it. The kimbap was made from purple rice which I appreciated, though it wasn't super flavourful. The cheese kimbap had a slice of Kraft cheese in it, not sure how I felt about that.

An affordable spot for some Korean comfort food right by Christie Pitts Station. Kimbap rolls go for $5 (10 pieces) and stews are $10. Comes with rice and banchan. There are also take-out deals and pre-made kimbap available for grab-and-go. I've been for a solo lunch as well as a meal with friends where you can get a large spread for a reasonable price.

    Salleongtang. Disappointing.

Still a sweet and welcoming place, food is authentic Korean. But I've noticed a few slippages over the years. Want there yesterday. Their kimchi barely had any gochu garu. If you're going to serve bland kimchi, serve bbae-kimchi (white kimchi i.e. not red with chili). The menu selections have shrunk considerably. The panchan was meh. Hubby's yukkaejang had a good broth and a lot of kosari namul (burdock). It was the best thing on the table and delicious My salleongtang was deeply disappointing. The beef was tough and the broth was bland. They do give you rock salt and black pepper to add. I asked for gochu (red pepper) and even that didn't help. Their specialties are jongols, ttukbegae and bossam. Those are the most popular dishes. Restaurant was busy. VERY NICE OWNERS.

A small little restaurant located in Koreatown that's honestly very easy to miss, but is definitely a must try!! Having tried many restaurants in Korea town, this one definitely stands out for taste and affordability. There isn't much seating so it would be best to arrive early or avoid peak hours. We ordered the tteokbokki with ramyun and cheese add ons, as well as bulgogi kimbap. They have a variety of kimbap flavours and each serving comes in 5 pieces. The tteokbokki was delicious! The spice level is manageable (coming from a person who loves spice so take that with a grain of salt) and it was a good amount of food for the price. The rice cakes were perfectly cooked and the cheese helped to balance out some of that spice. I definitely enjoyed the bulgogi kimbap as well! Very simple yet delicious. Tip: dip the kimbap in your tteokbokki sauce!! The combo works so well together. If I were to comment on one thing, it would be that I found the seaweed layer a bit chewy. Service is also great and you can tell they work really hard here :) Will be coming back!!

We both got the kimchi stew (must tryy!)

The food was amazinggggg and cheap!!! And the service was awesome!! Our waiter is so kind and patient with me and my friend!

Imonay restaurant serves authentic Korean comfort food. The cook is an old lady that made you feel like you are eating grandma's cooking. The restaurant doesn't look like much but the food is one of the best in Korean town. I would highly recommend trying their bulgogi kimbap and Korean army stew as well.

The Korean pancake with seafood and vegetables was huge and much crispier than the one I've tried before. My beef tartare bibimbap was perfect. Hence we entered Jin Dai Lae. Good decision (yes, I am patting my back). Entree pricing was $3 to $4 lower than Markham/Richmond Hill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.
