Pretty new to Reno and was looking for a place to get a drink with a friend and catch up. Stumbled upon this place. It was quiet and was about an hour and a half before close and perfect for what we were looking for. Really great space in general with a cool vibe. The bartender was really nice and didn't make us feel rushed at all even though we were the only ones there. Even offered us food before the kitchen closed. Our first visit here, it's a great place with loads of beer options & beautiful/cozy/woodsy vibe. Quick & friendly service, lots of various beers on tap including a few stouts, 3-4 seats at the small bar, several indoor tall tables, some outdoor picnic table seating, merch, and a hidden shuffleboard off to the side. By 2p on a Wednesday several people were here so that's a good sign. About 20 various beer styles on tap with more options in a cooler... awesome. Stopped in to get our passport stamp and heard they had a stout on that was worth the trip. The stout was fantastic, would've loved to take some home but even with them going out of business they still had some crazy rule that it was an "in house" only beer. Not sure what that's about. The wife had the cream ale, very skunky nose, similar to a Heineken, she could only drink less than half and left the rest. Will be our first and last time in apparently as it's been announced they are closing. I've had some of their beers on tap at locations other than the brewery, from a first timer viewpoint it is small inside and not in the greatest location. Service was average, can't blame the guy for not being enthusiastic since he knows the end is near. read more

If I did not order food, this would have been a 5 star review, just like their location in Sparks. Quality/Quantity - Beer = 6 stars!! So good that I definitely drank more than I should have. Good thing I had a designated driver! I had the following: #7 Freshy Pow, American IPA #9 Playa Dust, New England IPA #11 Golden Child, #12 Affogato Cream Ale - A MUST try!! Wow the flavors are so rich and good. #16 Marion Berry Pie Crust - Wild Ale, I am not typically a sweet or fruity beer drinker but wanted to try this flavor, and again a MUST try. The complex flavors are amazing in this beer. #18 Sweater Weather - Marzen, always a favorite of mine. They did not have any reds today, so this is my go-to when there are no reds. This was lighter and more hoppy than expected, and I mean that in a positive way. Sorry, I can NOT recommend the food. The bun for my wurst was just not edible... I suggest getting a steamer rather than toasting the bun. It would have been better just eating the bun out of the bag. Fries were okay, but like many places, never enough... In summary, definitely come here for the beer!! Atmosphere - Small local brewery. By the looks of all the barrels, you can tell the owners are very passionate about their business. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (too cold these days to drink outdoors). Small parking lot, but plenty of spaces. Open 7 days a week from 1pm to 8pm or 10pm, see Yelp. Service - Good. My only suggestion is that breweries should put our flight in the order it should be drunk, not in the sequence the customers orders. The good news is that I have so much experience, I can determine which beers to drink first and which ones last. The best breweries do this for their customers. What a burping delicious 6 years for me visiting this location. Time sure flew but improvements are noted. 20 beer taps and a wonderful variety of styles. Also, a bunch of large specialty bottles, cans and ciders. Parking in their lot and street. They expanded their seating back left and they also have outdoor seating. Cool brewery. IMBIB is one of the many east of downtown. Lots of interesting beers to choose from. Good atmosphere. There's a patio if you don't want to be inside. It seems like sour is a specialty here. Lots of these are on the beer menu. This isn't a bad thing. More sours are needed in this area. This is an underrated style of beer and it's different than common styles. It's refreshing to drink a sour when it's hot. Kind of like drinking a lemonade or something like that but it's hoppy too. I came with the girl the last time and we tried a few. They were all good enough to get the next time. I liked the Freshy Pow IPA. It's $6 for a pint. This is a West Coast style IPA with aromatic and bitter hops, and made with amarillo and citrus to give it a spice. Another one we liked was the Mango Mist-ery Machine. This a collaboration between The Brewer's Cabinet and them. If you like mango you should try it. This is a hazy style IPA that's hoppy and sweet. Has a patio which is a nice place for having a beer. It's in an area with some older homes and doesn't have a lot going on. There's no food here but there's a Jimboy's across the street, so you can get tacos from there. read more

This place is a gem. The setting/atmosphere is inviting, the staff are fun, and of course there's the beer. I was slightly disappointed that they only had 2 darker beers available out of the 20 or so from which to select, and one of the went off menu after we got there, but I really enjoyed the Imperial Stout and would have been content to drink that all afternoon. Flights are available and very reasonably priced. Dog-friendly and friendly dogs in attendance is also always a plus. read more

How? How is this even possible? How have I not reviewed one of my all-time favorite breweries in our entire region? For shame! I stopped drinking beer years ago (health reasons) but it doesn't mean I've stopped TASTING it. And when I do settle in to taste some local beer, my palate always pushes me toward IMBIB. Why? IMBIB hits the sweet (and sour) spot for me. They produce beers in old world styles of brewing, those rich in history and technique, that drive the modern brewing scene we enjoy today. While staying true to forms, they are always finding exciting ways to put their own touch on them. I am particularly fond of their Berliner Weisses, especially those featuring local seasonal fruit, their Flemmish sour, and many of their one off experimentals. They put the time in to develop these recipes, and the results show. Multiple big wins at GABF for them, shows they're loved far beyond our little community here. I am traveling for work and decided to walk from a nearby hotel to this brewery to check out their sour beer offerings. I came in on a non-busy Tuesday evening and had a table to myself to read. The bartender was very nice and helpful. I tried both the Cherry Apricot Mango sour as well as the Peach Sour (cannot remember the actual menu names) and both were absolutely divine. I cane to spend the night in Sparks to visit a very dear friend. On my way into town I stopped by this awesome little brewery to try their gold medal winning sour. It is located just off the freeway in downtown Reno. The taproom itself is an intimate one. They have utilized the space they have very well. It was cozy for sure. The had a shuttle board table that I messed with for a bit. They have a bar with about 8/10 seats. Sorry I didn't count. Around the corner of the bar they have a few barrel tables with chairs nicely arranged The beer I tried was the sour. It did not disappoint. I was on a time crunch to check into Hotel so I bounced after the first beer. Discipline yo!! If you have not stopped in here and are by the area do yourself a solid and come in and support local beer. Found this brewery during a work trip in Reno and was impressed with their lines of beers. I found they did quite a bit of sours, which happens to be my favorite, and they did not disappoint. The bar seats are perfect to enjoy your beer, while looking out into the brew room and chatting with the workers. It's the perfect time to meet new people and chat about favorite brews and spots thru out the country. I love a good sour and I know that I can stop in here any day of the week and try an awesome one. My friend and I came in here with a Groupon one night and enjoyed the atmosphere and service so much, we ended up buying a membership. Rosie absolutely made the experience for us- she was so friendly and easy to talk to. While they don't serve food, she said that you can bring food in. The other night there was a group meeting in back so I think they might do some small events. I've never had an issue with parking but the neighborhood can be interesting. It completely left my memory that I was ever at IMBIB until I noticed this being my second check-in on Yelp. Face palm. Being a huge beer fan and especially a fan of mini pours, I had to purchase the Groupon for the flight and two glasses. It was a Friday night and I thought for sure it would be busy, not at all. Ample parking and plenty of room at the bar. Not knowing how many samples we were allotted upon presenting the Groupon voucher, the beer tender told us we get to choose 10. Ten 40 ounce pours -- that's a forty! Awesome, I chose five and my date chose five (in secret). Surprisingly we didn't duplicate our choices. What are the odds when there were 17 listed on the chalkboard?! We had a great time tasting one by one and comparing notes; however, out of the ten I would say we thoroughly enjoyed three. They specialize in sours and saisons, which are great, but I think they need to migrate into a different style to truly stand out. read more

Experienced a very quick and physically distanced beer pick up from Imbib during covid times. Glad their beer options for sale were vast as they were during normal times. Wide range of beers from classic European styles, mild ales, IPAs, and their excellent wild and saison style beers. Placed order online, confirmed details and pick up time over the phone, arrived at side entrance at scheduled time and opened the tailgate. They cleanly (wearing masks etc.) and professionally loaded items and closed tailgate. No physical interaction whatsoever and no other customers at the same time which was helpful. They seemed to have a very well thought out process for safe and quick pick up plus their side entrance is very easy to access. I associated Imbib with sours, which I haven't quite developed the taste for. I dropped in to attend the Craft Passport launch and was delighted to see the Belgian offerings on their tasting menu! After a horrible experience at Brew Brothers and the Silver Baron lounge In the Eldorado and the Silver Legacy, we decided to take our money elsewhere and stopped at Imbibe about 5:30 p.m. Saturday night after the Italian festival. What a cool place! It has an awesome vibe and the interior has a cool industrial feel to it. They have 5 or 6 tables in front, a few on the side with a shuffle board and foosball table in the back. They have maybe 7 seats at the bar in front. They even brought out their giant jenga for us which we quickly constructed on a wine barrel. And, we could get drinks while sitting at a table without eating anything (see previous review at Brew Brothers) for the whole story. They have at least 15 beers of their own on tap. In addition they have a couple of guest taps. The brewmaster was even there and if was cool to talk to him. We believe this place is definitely up-and-coming and very soon will have long waits for delicious beer. The only improvements we would suggest is replacing the fluorescent lighting with soft light fixtures with incandescent light or the Edison style bulbs and maybe some board or card games. We met some very nice people and we will definitely be back! read more

Finally made my way over to IMBĪB and wasn't disappointed. A little tough to get to as it is on the one way part of 2nd street but totally worth it. Tons of beer choices to pick from each day. Today there was 17 different choices from ales to sours to dark heavy stouts. I tried their Belgium dark sour and heir pie crust cherry sour. The sour was definitely the winner. I should have had twenty of them... then had a drive home. Plenty of seating and folks behind the bar happy to help you. Plus, I always love a place that greets you as you walk in. I confess, I tend to not be the biggest fan of barrel-aged and sour beers. HOWEVER... This is the sort of place that can change just about anybody's mind. It certainly took some time, but I am warming up to these styles of beer, and I mostly have IMBIB to thank for that. At other breweries, too often do beers aged in barrels seem to come off as too strong, too sweet, too sour, or just too, well, off. Here, the brewers use the barrels to good effect and can really add the right amount of finish to the beers, giving them an added depth of flavor and hints of character, rather than just using them as a gimmick or to cover up other tastes. It has been a while since last I swung by. But I am glad to have had occasion to revisit them this night, as I ended up spending several hours with friends, sampling a good array of their pretty extensive menu, which, while focusing on sours and the like, is replete with other styles that are equally as tasty. First, the sours. I tried a sample of the Guava Basil Weiss. WOW, does this one hit you with the flavor stick. You can really taste the tropical flavors of the guava, and the sour twang really goes well with it. Next, the 100% Boysenberry Brett is really interesting, with the sourness dialed way up. Next, I went for the Chardonnay Saison, and was very pleasantly surprised. More on the mild side of the sourness scale, and you can actually taste the Chardonnay flavor coming through in the beer. Last on my tour of sour-land was the Wild Nymph, a barrel-aged ale using wild yeast cultures which is likewise pretty mellow, and just the right amount of sour for me. Certainly hope they keep it around when next I stop by. As for other beers I sampled this evening, one which stood out to me in particular was the Red Rye. I found this one utterly delicious, and might just be my favorite brew here. The Freshy IPA is pretty darn good as well, if you want something hoppy. But when going to the dark side, beware of the yummy Coffee Oatmeal Stout, as it will knock you for a loop, and you can almost see yourself having a mug for breakfast, so strong is the coffee flavor in this one. Most beers run you six to eight dollar per glass, depending on glass size of course. Tasters, crowlers and growlers are all available, too. And food is available if you feel a bit hungry. The bites range from some snack mixes to more expensive meat and cheese platters, and it is not unknown for a food truck to swing by from time to time. Seating is available at the bar and the front room, but also in a sectioned off back corner of the warehouse with plenty of bar games to play. As far as parking goes, they have a small lot, and you can park along any of the adjoining side streets with relative ease. IMBIB is certainly one of the breweries in Reno that I feel really round out our beer scene. They have found their niche and really become masters at it. Take a seat at the bar and strike up a conversation with the brewers if they're around. I've always experienced very friendly and courteous service from them and their staff, which adds to this place feeling a bit more like a neighborhood bar than some other breweries I've been to. Since microbrews have become so popular the last few years, breweries are popping up everywhere. Reno is no exception. IMBĪB is located in an inconspicuous building down the street from Jimboy's tacos (in case you need an afterparty snack) but is definitely worth the trip. They always have at least a dozen different brews on tap and the list is never too IPA heavy. In my opinion, I find that a lot of breweries can sometimes go too IPA heavy. How many IPAs do you need in one place?! Ales, porters, stouts, wheats, sours, they've got them all. The last time I visited IMBĪB they were featuring sours. Sours are my favorite! I was able to try 6 different ones in a flight and the raspberry was my favorite. To be honest, sour beer doesn't really have a beer-like flavor to me but it sure tastes good! The staff is very helpful if you need assistance choosing a brew and some are good as mixing flavors together. IMBIB is the place for after work drinks. A coworker and I wanted to grab some drinks and I wanted to try someplace new to me. He suggested IMBIB. I got there early and went to the restroom while I waited. I loved the various plaques on the wall with cute sayings. We went through the menu a few times before I decided on my first drink. When I mentioned I couldn't decide, the bartender offered me up a sample of each. That made the choice even harder since I loved them both. I decided I would order each and do a round of each... and then maybe a few more. Here is where it was a tad weird. They don't have a lot of things to do. I know that ay sound weird, but I like to sit and chill and have the option to play some bar games. We played some shuffleboard but had to stop after a few games because they were setting up for an event. Once we ran out of distractions and finished our conversation we left to get food. I might be weird in wanting a bit of entertainment but aside from that, it was a great place. Based on beer selection alone I'd be back to try out more! read more

After Under the Rose tragically closed, I was looking for a new spot that had a good beer variety and wasn't afraid to go experimental. I love this place. They specialize in sours, although they have a wide variety of other beer styles available. The overall quality of all their beers is incredible. They typically have 20 beers/1 cider on tap. The menu rotates frequently. They sell 13oz of some beers, pints, 32 oz growlers, can growlers (crowlers) and 64 oz growlers as well as many varieties in bottles. The inside is industrial with a beautiful, long wood bar, kegs by the door (with aging product inside), some wide open spaces, a foosball table, darts, shuffleboard, and barrels as tables in the side area. Love the beertender.. Alexis is all-around awesome. Super attentive, fun to talk with. Josie was cool. Oscar was also great. Give this spot a chance. You will not regret it. read more

I had the pleasure of stopping in here during the Wells Treasure Walk a few weekends ago. While there, the bartender convinced me to try their new world-winning lambic called Triad.
