Went to this restaurant with another couple last Saturday night. Although obviously crowded they honored our reservation and seated at us at a nice booth. Service was fabulous. Dorothy, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable A real gem'. And the rest of the staff was great too. Cocktails were generous. The bread basket tasty with 2 types of bread and a caponata spread. My Bolognese was as good as I've had in the Boston area- thick with meat in.rich tomato sauce. All in all a great evening. Definitely ask for Dorothy when you go. read more

Go. Just go. Great food. Carpaccio. Chicken piccata. Meatballs. Cesar salad. All phenomenal. Nice atmosphere. The jewel of Legacy Place read more

I wish I could rate our experience 2 ways. The food was great! We arrived for a late lunch and ordered the specials. The Caesar salad was fine, and the option of adding anchovies was welcomed. The Burrata Ravioli in a light tomato sauce (with halved grape tomatoes) was wonderful, full of flavor, and a generous plateful. The Spaghetti Carbonara was also delicious. We had a cannoli and a tiramisu which were very good. The ambiance is lovely. Nice decor, comfortable seating. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow. Our waitress though pleasant, seemed to disappear once our order was taken. We had to ask other service persons as they walked by to help locate her, to order wine, and even to just get more water. At this point there was only 4 other tables occupied. She was in sight but at the end of the restaurant, apparently folding napkins. We do like a leisurely lunch, but the waiting for the food between courses was ridiculous. A kitche So we rate the food 4 stars, service gets 2. The cost was appropriate for the food but definitely not for the service. UPDATE: After receiving a lovely note from the owner ensuring the staff issues would be addressed, we gave the restaurant another try on a Sunday Brunch. All was wonderful! The food, the ambiance (enhanced by the live music), and the service all deserve 5 stars. We highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Nice polite server. Good gluten free menu. Make a reservation! It could get crowded quick after shops close or movies get out.

Their pre-fixe lunch special is spectacular! Appetizer, entree and dessert for $20. The food was excellent.

Great food and great service! We enjoyed the gnocchi al forno, lobster ravioli and carbonara.

Excellent job very good. Service Katherine was my server. She explained the food and the tiramisu and i loved it. Thank you.

Great food great service, great ambience. Just an all-around great experience with friends and family in a beautiful restaurant. Italiano supreme menu and our expert Edmond is very insightful and hope for his assistance the next visit to Massachusetts!! read more

Although I love the inside renovation I can't rave about the food or service. We had an early dinner on Father's Day and it took 30 minutes for someone to pour water for the table. Then after another 5-10 minutes wait we had to ask if we had a waiter/waitress. She finally showed up and was clearly new, didn't know the specials had to ask another waitress. The mgmt then came over with 2 free apps and said she noticed our wait was too long and apologized- very nice. All four dishes ordered were not great (the 2 apps were decent). Disappointed in our family meal - oh well won't go back. read more

The lobster ravioli was yummy!! The sauce was reminiscent of lobster bisque and it was like getting two dishes in one. The veal chop parm was generous in portion. The decor was casual but classy. I agree with the other reviewers about the lackluster bread and the weird salsa-like dip. read more

Made a reservation for 4 people yesterday. Arrived about 10 min. early, seated promptly. Cheerful server took drink order, returned with drinks, fresh bread, and a fabulous dipping sauce. Meatball appetizer was some of the best meatballs we've ever had! Salads were well seasoned & well dressed. Chicken parm, served with home-made pasta, was incredible! Everyone left quite satisfied, too full to have dessert! read more

This is a wonderful Italian restaurant, food and service was excellent.HOWEVER THE NOISE FACTOR WAS THE MIST DISTURBING! The experience of eating out was lost with the extreme noise throughout. If you want a quiet night out don't go to Il Massimo! read more

Awesome food, Awesome experience and impeccable service, would definitely recommend if your in the area and need a bite to eat!

Had a great friends lunch today! Our waiter Joanna made sure our meals were prepared to our taste. The food and drinks were delicious!! It was our first time there, I plan on returning for the live jazz and brunch. Highly recommend this place to relax and eat. read more

This restaurant is amazing! The food is to die for, staff was great. Everyone seemed to work as a team. The decor and ambiance is just what you're looking for if you need a nice night out. Went with some friends and will definitely be back. I have gone to the providence location which I also love. 5 stars all the way! read more

We made a reservation online for 2 people for 6 pm and we were seated almost immediately in the main dining room when we arrived. The atmosphere was a happy Friday night vibe with the bar and high top tables already full. We ordered the mussels appetizer which was pretty good. The mussels themselves were smallish but the garlic toast under the garlicky sauce was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly but didn't tell us about the dinner specials - we overheard her telling other diners later. I ordered the pork chop with figs, and my husband ordered the pasta carbonara. Both plates were presented beautifully - mine with the spicy figs over a large chop with those appetizing grill marks, and his with a shiny raw egg yolk over his cheesy pasta. We both thought our meals were a little bit under seasoned, (but there was a salt shaker on the table, whereas some higher end restaurants don't have) so that made it taste better. We decided to go somewhere else for dessert but the after dinner coffees and other desserts on the menu did look tempting. read more

Delicious and exactly what legacy place needed as there was no Italian food. Pasta was house made fresh and tasted delicious. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Drinks were strong and yummy. Will definitely be back! read more

We had a great dinner at Il Massimo! The atmosphere was nice, food delicious and our server Isabella was amazing. She went above and beyond to make our dining experience fun and relaxing. read more

The food was delicious. We ordered the appetizer special which was the warm figs with Gorgonzola and prosciutto and it was excellent! I ordered the carbonara which was delicious and my husband ordered the veal and it was excellent. But best of all was the service, it was outstanding!!! Nelly was attentive, made great recommendations and he was funny! We had a great time and we will definitely be back! read more

I absolutely LOVED my experience at Massimo! Having it be my first time there, I was incredibly impressed with how the food tasted and the way everything was presented, but I was especially impressed by the fantastic service! Our server CJ was wonderful, very professional but had the best personality! He was able to answer all questions and give great recommendations. Will definitely be coming back again! read more

Want to eat good Italian food? Go to Il Massimo. Started with calamari (some places serve a very bland calamari unfortunately) but theirs is far from it, comes with hot peppers and some greens and an aioli which is out of this world. Mussels were also very good coming in a nice tomato sea Broth. Veal parmigiana was great, and the sauce it came in was a wonderfully put together tomato sauce, sweet and rich. This place is great and it's not something that'll make your wallet choke when it sees the bill. My only dig is the atmosphere is a bit too modern and big for me, I like smaller more intimate dining spaces but otherwise very good! Bravo! read more

We went right when they opened for lunch, so I cannot comment on the usual atmosphere, but all the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back. read more

Our experience at Massimo was amazing. Everything from the greeter at the door to our waitress to the food and the dessert was spot on. We couldn't have had a better experience. Service was very attentive and the pace of the meal was wonderful. You will not be disappointed at Massimo. read more

Went there with friends, we had messed up our reservation but team worked to accommodate us quickly. We enjoyed everything we ordered and drinks were great. Visited this restaurant the weekend before last and had a very negative experience. My guest and I were asked to vacate empty seats at the bar because the seats, unknown to us when we sat down and prepared to give our order, were unavailable. The hostess quite firmly asked us to vacate and when we inquired as to a reason, she informed us that certain unidentified people at the bar were expecting guests, yet to arrive. IF reservations at the bar are indeed allowed, there should be notice of this preferential treatment of certain guests and it should be evidenced by some means, i.e., that certain of the seats, tables etc. are reserved and not available. I would think there should be a time limit for this status as well. Have supported restaurants throughout a pandemic that's been tough on all but much better management and more discreet handling than what we experienced should be employed, it was not at this establishment. read more

Absolutely love this restaurant! We've been making the trip to the Providence location for the last couple years so I couldn't wait to try the new Dedham location! It didn't disappoint. The decor is so beautiful and the food is always delicious. It's a must try! read more

Never seen a place like this. All the reviews are wrong. Don't know how this could ever be called a "Best Restaurant" - anywhere! Showed up with five people, three adults, two children. We were told that the restaurant does not seat parties with children in booths. Both hostesses were about as rude and incompetent as could be - take it or leave it. So we left. Amazing for a restaurant less than half full (with many open booths!). I wonder if the restaurant is so empty because of the food poisoning incidents that happened here when it first opened? read more

Had dinner last night for the first time. It was Meh. I started out with a great glass of wine. The Mista salad was ok. The main course needed work. It was the shrimp risotto. Seasoning, perhaps salt. The bread wasn't good. It came with this cold tomato something. The best thing was the dessert. The bread pudding was outstanding! To bad it was missing the scoop of gelato the menu said it came with. Probably will not go back. Maybe for the bread pudding. read more

Great find! When arriving to Legacy Place to shop I notice Massimo and remember hearing the Providence restaurant opened a new location. We decided to check it out. So glad we did the food was delicious just like Providence. We started with the Carpaccio for an appetizer and I had the Buratta Ravioli absolutely phenomenal and the service was quick and attentive. Since going I have recommended this place to I don't know how many people, and I'll continue to do so. read more

Great food, great service. Beautiful environment. I recommend for anybody that enjoys a good meal.

Being vegan it's generally hard for me to eat at restaurants, but Massimo was more than accommodating. I asked our server Dorothy if they had vegan options and she had some great recommendations that weren't listed on the menu. I got a vegan pasta primavera with red sauce, basically a vegetable pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly and filled with tons of veggies. I also got the baby artichokes without the aioli to make them vegan. They were the BEST artichokes I've ever had! My fiancé (not vegan) had the burrata ravioli and said they were delicious. Dorothy was an excellent server. She was super friendly & attentive and gave me a delicious red wine recommendation. She was hands down one of the best servers I've ever had! When it was time for dessert I just assumed there was nothing I could eat because there generally is never a vegan dessert option, but to my surprise they had dairy free chocolate gelato as well as sorbet. I went with the gelato and it was fabulous. All around experience was 10/10 from service to food. We will definitely be back! read more

I am only giving Il Massimo three stars because the food was pretty good. However, I have eaten here twice and I really can't recommend it. They just can't seem to get their act together. The first time, they overcooked my steak to the point where it was tough, and then a new one arrived raw. Last night my friend and I shared tuna tartare, a spinach salad and the branzino. My friend asked for anchovies and waited forever for them and then they brought only two (they're tiny). By the time they brought more, she was done with her salad. I asked for a glass of wine that took forever to come. Then my friend asked for a second glass, and it didn't arrive until her meal was finished. They apologized for the poor service and sent over a free tiramisu, which neither of us wanted. They should have comped our cappuccinos. If it was one bad night, I would give it another chance, but there are so many better restaurants. Why bother with this one? read more

Our experience for dinner was excellent! The service was phenomenal and atmosphere was really nice. We started off with an antipasto platter which was delicious. I ordered the Spaghetti al Nero con Aragosta all Fra Diavolo which consisted of black squid ink pasta and lobster. I would highly recommend it, as it had a perfect amount of spice and flavor. We ended the night with the molton lava cake and the Tiramisu....again, delicious! Overall great dinner and will definitely be going back in the near future! read more

Everything was perfect. Interior was beautifully renovated and very elegant. We were seated promptly and were immediately greeted by our server (I wish I could remember her name!) She was very knowledgeable with the menu and made great recommendations. The halibut was out of this world. Cannolis were a great way to end a nice meal. The manager Sara also checked in on us which really added a nice touch. Can't wait to be back! read more

My girlfriends and I had dinner last night and it was amazing! We went to the bar area before our reservation and the servers were very attentive to get us what we wanted right away. We sat in the back with the fireplace and it was very cozy- We had the calamari and antipasto which was out of this world good! I ordered the veal bolognese and a side of cauliflower and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Our server was on top of everything and very friendly. I'm excited to go back and try something else. read more

great place lamb chops are delicious, the burrada cheese app was delicious!! The place was very beautiful as well

Honestly didn't even have a chance to try their food but I just had to talk about their service before that. Went in looking for a table but we can't be seated in the dining area since it was full/all reserved. The person up front said the tables up front we first come first serve so we are free to sit down when someone leaves. Fine. Waited a few minutes and saw this table was leaving so we stood near it. I mean.. pretty obviously that we are waiting for the table because we were standing next to it and we have been eyeing that table. Took a while for the staff to come clean and put new plates/utensils on the table - actually it took a VERY long time; they were taking their sweet time doing it. Then right after it was done, someone comes and puts a Reserved sign on the table. Ummmm what? You could have told us that you were going to put this table on reserve when you obviously can tell we were waiting for this table. We left immediately. read more
