    Carbonara
    Victoria C.

A busy, neighborhood spot that was bopping on a Saturday night. I came here with a friend and we had to wait a bit before getting seated at the bar. We got complementary bread with olive oil while we waited for our meal. We got parmesan truffle fries to share and I got the Carbonara pasta. The fries were crisp with plenty of shredded parmesan on top. The carbonara was a deceivingly big portion that filled me up along with the fries. The pasta was fresh, and creamy, with bits of meat. The service was quick and my friend and I enjoyed our food and conversation. A giant, antique-looking clock above the bar gives some style to this place. Overall, a great spot in Hyde Park to satisfy your pasta craving.

Best mussels I have ever had...from Italy to San Diego... The Broth after the mussels, amazing...I think it's the shredded Gorgonzola!

Came here during restaurant week and had a wonderful time. The ambiance is warm, romantic and quaint. Such a cute spot for a date night. Food was delicious. For my appetizer I ordered the prosciutto and mozzarella. You really can't go wrong with this, a great way to start a meal. Next, I ordered the tagliatelle for my main dish. I really enjoyed this. It seemed like kind of a basic pasta but it was actually really flavorful, and the portion size was big enough for me to take some home for lunch the next day! Finally, for desert I wanted the tiramisu but by the end of the night they were all out!! So instead I had the chocolate cake which was ok...you could tell it was just what they had left. As for service, our waitress was new so I'll cut her a little slack, however service was very slow. It took her longer than it should have to bring out our drinks, and sometimes when we needed something it was hard to get her attention. One other small down side was that because this restaurant is on the smaller side, the tables were really close together. I felt like I was sharing my date with the two couples on both sides of us because we could all hear each others conversations. But despite that, overall it was a great experience and I would certainly come back here again.

We were very surprised by the hospitality, food, and drinks during our random visit! The day after the election, my friend and I needed a pick me up so we ended up at Antonio's! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful including a bar, high top and low top seating around the back of the bar! We had the complimentary bread and olive oil, which tasted as if someone's Italian grandmother squeezed the olives right in front of us! So fresh! We love a mussel so of course we had to try them! They were delicious in a like white wine sauce. The Caesar salad was just ok. But baybeeeee Shrimp Bigoli was to die for! The light lemon cream based sauce was my favorite and the shrimp were seared to perfection! My friend got the Carbonara and she said it was one of the best she's had! We also indulged ourselves in a couple drinks (multiple) like a French 75 and sangria and they were potent. Shoutout to the bartender/waiter...John (I think)! They gave us the impromptu night that we needed!

This place is super cute! A friend of mine lives near by, but had never been, so he suggested we check it out. The first time we went, we had a couple of drinks in the bar area. I went with 2 cocktails and my friend had a Stella (in the true Stella chalice!) and a red wine. He didn't love his wine, but that was his own fault for randomly selecting the cheapest one. Ha The second time we went, we sat directly at the bar. I chose the pinot noir for him and a pinot grigio for me. His was better (he agreed)! We also decided to split the prosciutto flatbread. We subbed the spinach out and added mushrooms instead. It was definitely yummy! Lots of toppings and a large portion for the 2 of us to share. Service here has been stellar both times. Very attentive and friendly. I plan to come back many times!

Lovely neighborhood spot. Some of the best Italian food in the city. If you do not feel like driving to the North End and fighting for a parking spot, come here! There is plenty of street parking and a city lot in walking distance. The space is cozy and the food is amazing. Maria was one of the best servers I ever had. Very knowledgable and super friendly. Be sure to make a reservation and try the Duck Gnocchi!

Good Italian menu in a pleasant Boston neighborhood. I enjoyed the appetizers and eggplant. I'll be back.

Things taste fine. But I've gotten food poisoning twice here and I've only ever gotten food poisoning once in my entire life beforehand. ‍

The icing on the cake was when we were done with our dinner the people next to us were also done with their food the lady said I would take this to go and the server took their plates and bagged their food for them I decided to test my theory to see ...... I said the same thing the lady next to me had said about 15 minutes ago he came back to our table with to go boxes and a brown bag. I was baffled. I decided not to take the food home anymore. I told him he could throw it away!!! I wanted to get a piece a cake for my husband because it was his birthday but he was so upset I ordered a tiramisu I left most of it on the table I got my bill it was $153 I tipped 15 dollars but just because he took our order and brought the food to us but not for service I would give 0 tip for the service honestly. Please do better, treat everybody with the same amount of respect. Food service isn't for the weak. But nice restaurant!!! At least he asked us about allergies!!!

Santoro's has deep roots in Roslindale Square, originally founded by Vincenzo and Agostina Santoro and beloved for decades for their Sicilian pizza, fresh-baked scali bread, and classic Italian pastries. Today, their daughter Tina Santoro Asmar carries that legacy forward with pride--and has taken it to another level. The care, tradition, and family ownership are felt the moment you walk in. The sandwiches are simply unmatched. Hands down, the best Italian deli sandwiches I've ever had--better than anything I've eaten in Philadelphia, New York City, or Boston (all places I've lived). Everything starts with bread baked fresh daily and top-quality ingredients. Our favorites are: The Agostina Sr. - Boar's Head provolone, sweet & spicy capicola, Genoa salami, mortadella, prosciutto, sun-dried tomato spread, roasted red peppers, onion, tomato, fresh basil, and olive oil The Grayson - Oven Gold turkey, cranberry sauce, homemade stuffing, romaine, and mayo You can taste the pride and attention to detail in every bite. Catering is where Santoro's truly shines and we always call the day beforehand. We regularly order trays for our own family and for friends returning home from the hospital, and the feedback is always the same--everyone raves. Standout catering dishes include: Chicken Parmigiana, Stuffed shells & stuffed manicotti, Lasagna, Ziti with meatballs, Chicken, broccoli & ziti, Eggplant Parmigiana (a favorite with our vegetarian friends), and Caesar salad We always order extra meatballs and extra Nona Carmela's marinara--and it never goes to waste. The garlic bread is also a must: fresh scali bread loaded with garlic, butter, Parmesan, mozzarella, and baked until perfectly bubbly. The desserts are excellent (especially the cannoli), and they thoughtfully package them separately from hot food--small touches that show how much they care. Add in super friendly staff, fair prices, and consistently fresh ingredients, and Santoro's becomes the kind of place you rely on again and again--for everyday meals, family gatherings, and moments when food really matters. A true family-owned Italian gem with incredible sandwiches and catering you can trust. Highly recommended.
