I had another fantastic dinner experience here! My girlfriends and I picked this place for our annual Christmas dinner this year... To start, one of my friends and I shared the tuna tartare while the rest of the group had salads. The tuna by itself was great but the fried wontons that were served with it, took it to another level!! I could eat that combo everyday, that's how good it was! For my entree, I ordered the filet mignon. It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and had a nice juicy flavor. Our shared sides were also fantastic; mac & cheese, asparagus and mashed potatoes. The creamy and dreamy mac & cheese was my favorite! I would definitely recommend checking this place out for a fancy dinner :)

Great food, great service, great vibe. Want to try their other cocktails next time. Bf got the braised short rib gnocchi which was excellent.

Decent but average experience all around. A first glance at the menu might confuse you -- how do sushi and Mediterranean flavors mix. Perhaps they do, but we didn't try the sushi this night. I take it as more of an indication of a place that is trying to please everyone. The variety of attentive servers certainly did. Unfortunately for us, though that also meant, dishes were cooked well but under seasoned. Is there anything wrong with being average? Some say the key is being average at most things, as long as you find the thing you excel at. Here the standout was the chocolate cake for two -- many layers of rich chocolate, still moist but not too dense. Wonderful flavor. All of these words for someone who is not even a dessert guy at heart. Would I like to see more traditional Albanian dishes? Of course. In the meantime, I know where to end the evening (or start the evening if I am venturing for a "backwards dinner.")

I think the service and food presentation could be improved a bit to truly match the standard of a high-end restaurant.

Been here a few times. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Fairly loud though. The service is good, no real complaints. The food is a bit hit or miss. The gnocchi was too salty this time. The grilled octopus had a fishy smell. Prices are steep for most entrees. $37 for a Caesar salad with strips of steak. $42 for the lamb. For those prices, the quality should be consistently good. Street parking can be a challenge depending on when. They have valet for $8. There's also a garage nearby that's very affordable.

We came for a girls night on a Friday and we were seated right away in the dining room. We ordered the local oysters, braised short rib gnocchi, macaroni and cheese (side) and crispy brussel sprouts (side). I also got the Winter in Italy. Oysters came in 6 and they were fresh. The short rib gnocchi was very good, rich, filling and I would recommend it. The brussel sprouts were delicious and definitely crispy which I liked. The macaroni and cheese was good but it didn't stand out. Drinks were also good. My friend got the espresso martini and it was great. Service was good but our waiter wasn't very personable and cold. The dining room is quite formal. They offer $8 valet parking and there is a nearby garage that is $1/hr ($12 max). They have a dining room, lounge and rooftop patio (not covered).

I came here with my family for my aunt's birthday. For appetizers, we tried the meatballs, calamari, and clam chowder. My cousins loved the calamari and I loved the meatballs - very filling with a great, rich sauce. I didn't love the bread they provided with the dish but I used the starter bread basket to soak up more delicious sauce. My aunts felt as if the chowder was missing something - maybe pepper /spice? I tried the short rib gnocchi with a side of asparagus. It was very rich and filling! I ended up taking home most of the dish home as leftovers. One of my cousins had the lobster ravioli - she say it tastes very good but the portion size was small. My other cousin has a steak and the seafood pasta - he enjoyed both! My nephew ate the entire swordfish with risotto and left no crumbs behind! Our sever was very kind but when we needed her, it felt as if she was no where to be found. Maybe the other side of the restaurant was busy. Street parking is very difficult to find but there's a nearby relatively cheap parking garage - $1 per hour. I don't come out to Quincy often but I'd be willing to come back to Alba for a special occasion!

The food was amazing but the drinks are little too strong for me . The atmosphere and staff were very nice. I would definitely come back here again.

Ask the Community - Alba Restaurant

How do I make a reservation? It's been easy in the past but currently when I call nobody picks up, and it puts me through a minute of listening to automated messages and then says "bye" and hangs up. It's been doing this for days + no online option?

You just call for a reservation. They are very accomidating

Bay Pointe removes both claws from the lobster which I appreciate and puts the whole claw meat under the stuffing mix. On this particular day only 1 claw was found. When I inquired about the missing claw I was told it was cut up in the stuffing mix. First of all, I have been to this restaurant many times ordering this same dish. So, tell me why 1 claw meat would be cut up and not the other one. Once the explanation was given it was utterly bull. I've never had the claw meat cut up and mixed in with the stuffing and as far as I'm concerned it should never be an option to do that. If so, I probably would not order this dish anymore. I want to see my claws in it's entirety and not cut up. Bottom line lobsters have 2 claws not 1. Both should have been in the dish and basically it wasn't. This will not deter me from coming to this establishment, but please think about your response before providing an answer that doesn't make any sense. I can't wait for the patio to open so I can enjoy the outdoor rays.

Come for the views, but not the food!…read more Inn at the Bay, or at least that's what we used to call it back in the day, used to be a great restaurant. I would come here with family, friends and enjoy the boats going by while sipping on a cocktail. But, this was not the same experience we had last night. We came here with my Mom and husband on a glorious sunny and warm evening. It was packed! I gave my name and number to the hostess and she told me that there were a few people ahead of us and would text me when our table is ready. Cool! We strolled over to the bar area to grab a glass of wine and a few moments later, that text came. Score! Our outdoor table was ready! We sat down overlooking the water and boats and had our server come over with water. I normally order bottled water so when he came back I ordered small bottles of sparkling water for us all. He then came back awhile later to see if we wanted to place a drink or app order. We shared their Caesar salad and buffalo tenders. The salad was good. The tenders were just ok. Not enought buffalo sauce to them. Then, after waiting a bit for our table to be cleared (service was very slow) we placed our entree orders: I had their Scallops with 2 sides; Mom had their Broiled Scrod; Hubby had their Steak Tips. Food: I will say that the fish here is very fresh so I will give them that, but there was also no flavor to the sides or the dishes themselves. It was very bland. But with some lemon, salt and pepper, the dish tasted much better. Side note: We were a bit disappointed when we got the bill later the steak tips were $38 and our fish dishes were around $30. I think the price point was a bit higher for a south shore "just average" seafood restaurant. For dessert we got the caramel bread pudding which was good and flavorful. My husband had their PB ice cream pie and I did not like it at all but that is just me. Service: I know it was packed and there were only a few servers on, but it seemed to take a long time for us to order, and get our food. I will say that my other problem was the server never cleared the table unless it was our food. We had empty glassware, dirty side plates and silverware and cans on the table and this is a huge pet peeve of mine. I ended up getting up and clearing the glassware. Would I go back again? Definitely not for dinner, but I would sit at the outdoor bar again and have a glass of wine or cocktail but not anytime soon.

Not 4 stars for The Fours~…read more When you think of The Fours you think sports bar, cold beer, pub food, and loud Tvs playing all the popular New England sports. The Fours was good once, but not this time. We went on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. It was not crowded at all which we liked. Our bartender Brian did not seem to be happy at all when he greeted us, but that was ok. Sometimes even servers have bad days and we just let it go. After ordering drinks we shared their Buffalo Fingers appetizer. I always loved this appetizer. It was still good but felt the chicken was a bit on the chewy side. Then, for entrees, I always get their Chopped Salad with Salmon on it. Their Chopped salad always tastes so good and with a big portion I usually bring the rest home. First off, the Salmon was overcooked and dry and I was so upset since I was craving a good piece of Salmon. The salad was still decent. My husband had their Hot Pastrami sandwich and this was excellent. His order always comes out perfect LOL! The good thing is when I told Brian about my fish he felt bad and compted the whole salad which was very nice of him. I will say I do like sitting on their patio when the warmer weather is here with a glass of wine, an app and people watch. Not sure if the food has gone down but I will say this place usually had better food and service than our last experience! Cheers~

I first tried it at the Phantom Gourmet Food festival, and it was delicious! Having it fresh at the restaurant was just as good. It's actually not super cheesy (no cheese pull) and it's drizzled with bbq and ranch sauce on top. The pork was extremely tender and I loved the crispy onion strings that came on top. Also tried their gnocchi bolognese and 110 spinach dip. The gnocchi bolognese was really tasty, perfectly cooked. The 110 spinach dip wasn't bad either, but it did feel a little one noted. I do think it's a great app though! Service wasn't bad, but it was really busy in there. Our server probably only checked on us a few times throughout our meal (which is fine, I'm not a high maintenance customer lol). Have to give a shoutout to the GM though because our server accidentally double charged us (for items we didn't order) and I didn't realize until I got home. The GM (Rich I believe) was able to fix it over the phone which was awesome.
