I come here a lot since it is the closest location to where I live. I find the employees incredibly annoying. They ignore you when you line up, they forget quite a few items that should be in the bowls ( how about looking at the menu to make sure you include everything), they are distracted talking to each other and looking at their phones instead of paying attention to customers and moving the line along. I cant wait until the rumored Quincy location is up and running so I don't have to go to Hingham to be ignored! read more

Food is decent. Employees are incredibly rude, yelling and talking the whole time you say your order and then keep pushing your bowl down the line, ignoring what you said and forgetting toppings. Only nice employee was the young boy at the register. Also not 100% sure but doesn't cava require hair covers when serving food? Got delivery. Both of our bowls were wrong. No dressing. Didn't get my greens, toppings were missing, harissa dip I didn't ask for is on mine. Instead of grilled chicken we got the hot harissa chicken. Pita is missing for the second time I've ordered here. Impossible to reach the store; it just rings busy. Scraped the bottom of the bucket for romaine, I asked for more. Then got charged for extra rice. I had a salad!!! she looked at the manager spoke in a foreign language and said it's extra money for extra lettuce. Opened food-maybe 5-6 pieces of wilted bruised slimey romaine. Then had to go back in and ARGUE with manager to have her take back the extra rice charge and make my food again. Had never been to a CAVA location before so was not sure what to expect. A Mediterranean Chipotle? Well that was pretty much my experience coming with my family over the weekend. Seeing as this location is in a shopping area it was pretty busy, and my main gripe was that I wasn't sure what gyro filling options were in front of me due to the lack of labels on each topping. It felt very rushed to get me to select my toppings which was likely due to the time of day but also due to some impatience on the side of the staff. Regardless, I did end up enjoying my meal as it was flavorful, fresh, and with toppings akin to what you might find at a Halal stand in New York City. In comparison with other fast casual mainstays like Chipotle or Naya I would say CAVA meets the mark. Would I go out of my way to eat here again? Probably not, but if I'm in need of a quick lunch with little other options around I wouldn't say no. Bonus points for the amusing line of corporate finance clones I always see in line at these places with their Patagonia vests and cryptocurrency jargon. read more

Love cava and have only had good experiences here, great staff, but the portions the last time I went were unbelievable. Maybe 2/3 of the bowl was filled and I counted 5 pieces of lettuce in the whole thing... huh? I don't think anyone understands how much I love cava. Nothing brings me a joy than being able to indulge in a delicious bowl from cava after a long day. Their food is always delicious, it's never too busy in there, their food and drinks are very healthy,etc. So I walk into the Hingham cava at Derby Street the other day to get a bowl before I leave after shopping. I walk in I go up. I'm not with or a how are you? Actually I was not greeted at all. I walk up to the woman who the entire time she's taking My order is being very rude, Not smiling giving me dirty looks, and laughing at some of the requests I make. when I asked for avocado at the end, she rolled her eyes, as if it was too much work to scoop out the avocados that had already been sitting out for who knows how long. overall, I enjoy the food there so I will try not to have this experience be to influential on my opinion of cava as a whole. just a warning sign for people out there when you go in there don't expect to get treated with too much respect. read more

I've always loved every visit to Cava , last night it was sad to see the grill cook was not feeling well at all sneezing coughing while cooking. The manager should've sent him home the recent resurgence of Covid kind of starts like that. Cava we love you don't fall into complacency. Keep your game strong. You are the leader in this type of food right now. Chipotle is scared, especially when they don't keep their place clean and they run out of everything and aren't very kind about explaining why I couldn't even get ice one day while the manager filled his cup with ice at chipotle in the back I demanded he do the same for me and told him I'd never come back I'm sure he doesn't care it shows by the condition of the building that's across the street from you in Nashua -I think they have a place too, but they have a lot of work to do. But, keep up your good game and don't slide those little pieces of pita on the counter as you fill orders. That's also a source of germs. I'm not a Germa phobe but I know common sense at least put a napkin under it- cover you have our support and we want to see your place remain clean, strong and well run healthier food needs a strong place in our society. You can count on us to come if we can count on you to keep standards high. To the man who wasn't feeling good cooking no shade at all. I know how hard it is to keep a job and not take a day off when you need the money Maybe in this land of Covid we should adjust our payment plans for people that need a day off when there is sick as he was. I spent $200 plus tip on an order that was not made correctly. There were 3 bags of chips missing, all 7 drinks were missing, extra dressings were missing. I had to drive 37 minutes to pick up the rest of the items and when I got there the workers were speaking a different language and not realizing that one of us spoke that language- they called us annoying and wanted us to move out of their way when they fucked up our order. So unprofessional and this cava will never see us again or receive any money, until they hire better workers. read more

Wow! I rarely give an establishment a strong 5 stars but this place right here deserves it. I was in Hingham, Massachusetts for business and Googled closest restaurants near me for lunch and this was one of many that came up. I love mediterranean food so I decided to check out the menu online and was pleased with what I saw so I headed over. They are located in a nice shopping plaza that has a lot of cool stores/shops including a Whole Foods. They are located near many businesses and the highway so it's in a super convenient location. The restaurant is clean and has a nice vibe. I ordered the Build Your Own Bowl but they have several suggested menu items as well. My food was fire!!! So damn good! One of the best mediterranean bowls that I have had and I have had many. You can go here if you are a meat eater, vegetarian, or vegan. There is something for everyone. I took it to go because I was in a hurry but I'd like to stay there and eat next time and there def will be a next time. The ordering line went extremely fast so you can be in & out within minutes. The staff doesn't waste any time. I highly suggest you give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. read more

I really enjoyed my time at CAVA. Even after the amazing food I sat down and enjoyed my drink while chatting with some friends.

I normally LOVE cava it's one of my favorites but this location has been absolutely horrible. I got a greens and grains bowl and this is what I picked up for my to go order online.... Had to ask for grains and greens cuz there was a pinch of both..... I go all the time and now I never want to return. I asked for 2 of my dips on the side and they weren't with my to go order so I asked for them and extra chips which are $2.99. I got charged $8.29 and when I asked it's cuz they charged me for chips and dips but my dips were free with my meal....... And nobody could understand that in there so before causing a scene I just let it be but absolutely ridiculous. Would love to talk to a manager about a refund ATLEAST for my dips that weren't readily with my meal already. read more

First time visiting the establishment. Good whole food with vegan options! Food and services were great! They serve Maine roots soda! Ffree of high fructose corn syrup and full of real ingredients! When I mentioned it was my first time visiting, they eagerly recommend options. I was trying to eat dairy free. Their options did not disappoint. I ordered a spicy chicken with avocado pita wrap. The server recommended instead of feta cheese, two types of hummus and extra cabbage. The pita was delicious and the food was great all around . Though I don't go to the Derby shops all that often, I am asking myself how, after 6 mos. living ~2 miles away I have not yet eaten here. The best answer I can come up with is this: When I stopped in some time ago, I went in to see what it was about. At the time, I thought "just another bowl place". Yet, there is a difference between bowls and bowls done right. Balance is everything, and these bowls were right on the money. With the way I assembled it, there was crispness, a little sweetness, savoriness, creaminess, essentially, everything under the sun. These didn't fight each other, however, and were a flavor spectacular not unlike a Grucci (they do Boston July 4th) fireworks show. Proteins were amazing too (I had half-and-half falafel and meatballs). Cooked perfectly, gently soft and savory. I have only two critiques of the bowl. First, I felt the salt level was a tad high for me. Mind you, I am a little bit sensitive to salt, so this is likely not the case for everyone. Second, I felt there could have been a little more protein. Sure, you can buy some extra but would have been nice nonetheless. Beverage options are great too, with some awesome teas and lemonades. While these were overall great, I found somewhere a little too sweet for my liking. What I would like to suggest is something I saw elsewhere. That is, the beverages are completely unsweetened. There is a bottle of simple syrup by the machines so you can add the level of sweet your heart desires. Finally, there are a couple little things which just make the experience so much better (and helped bump this place up to the 5th star) First, they have menus at the entrance. While you order as you go (like in Chipotle or Subway), this helps you decide beforehand, without [feeling] like you're holding up the line. Second, you can mix and match to your heart's content. Want two or three of something (like a sauce of hummus)? go crazy. Third, they let you try virtually anything if you ask. Many of these ingredients will be new, especially if it's your first time here. Fourth, and perhaps my favorite: they have the option of a mini pita. One of the things about most bowl places is the portions. Sure, it may be healthy, but when you the portion is close to being Man v. Food sized, at least some of the health aspect goes away. The mini pita is terrific for getting a smaller portion of the same great stuff! read more

Good food friendly staff would recommend to everyone good location parking a little bit of a issue

Every single time I pick up a chicken and right rice order, they either never include the side pita, the salad dressing, or the arugula (which is half of the whole bowl). And when I try to get an employee's attention, they act like I'm being a Karen or being picky about wanting what came with my order. It's such a weird thing to experience, feeling almost apologetic for just wanting what I paid for. The kitchen floor is also usually littered with food scraps and it really seems like some of the people working there are a little disinterested in what they're doing. Which I can totally understand, having worked in the service industry for minimum wage before, but like... I really just wanted a quick dinner without feeling bad for paying for someone else to make it. Cava bowls themselves are typically really good, though. It's just this location. read more

As much as I hate to reduce experiences to cliches, flavors explode at CAVA. If this were a full service restaurant, it'd be a four-star meal - which is really telling, because the caliber of menu is solid on its own - but the fact that you're getting this lunch gift from a fast casual joint bumps it up to five in its class. Greens and grains bowl pairs the dark leafy that are sweeping the nation (and your colon) with your choice of saffron or brown basmati rice, or black lentils, to serve as a base for proteins, toppings and dips, spreads and sauces. I tend to get analysis paralysis at spots that don't offer some pre-fix option, but I shot from the hip at CAVA's exclusively build-your-own approach and couldn't be happier: spicy lamb meatballs with tzatziki, crazy feta and a surprisingly potent harissa. Scoop a little cucumber/tomato salad, pickled onion, cauliflower tabbouleh and pita crisps under a drizzle of lemon herb tahini dressing and I'm blabbering like Guy Fieri about flavortown or something. Kids meals for under $7 and it's not chicken fingers, hot dogs or grilled cheese? Thank you CAVA. Great addition to Derby Shoppes and your mouth. I'm a big fan. read more

Food tastes great. Customer service and environment is poor. I had stoped coming here for a while because line employees are not well trained regarding the food. They can't answer questions and are not friendly. I thought I'd give it a try. I thought I be safe ordering a pre-designed bowl. They didn't make put all of the advertised ingredients in it. I had to remind them. They did t tell me we they were out an an ingredient until the very end ... which is why o ordered it. Ugh. Clearly management has no room to train employees and and employees are expected to just push customers through with no attention to detail. Too bad. The good is pretty good. Also, they has raw red meat just sitting out uncovered in a common workspace for the 20 minutes I was there which was really weird. read more
