This is a typical diner. It's NOT fancy, so if you are looking for some posh place this isn't going to fit the bill. Now that we have that out of the way, the staff and food were outstanding and just what you would expect from a small diner. Prices were reasonable and one of the best parts was the hash. I had an omelette which was loaded, along with a side of corn beef hash. This isn't some canned crap you get at so many places. This is the real deal and is certainly made there. It was delicious!! Hello all I've been to cowbells for many years ! Usually my children teens love it . I bring best friends people amazing usually friendly caring ! Food impeccable ! But today 4/27/23 . I was there with a best friend craved burger ! Have had in past burgers were to thin not the same I asked med rare first was well done , second round barely med by time cut it finished cooking well done ! I asked take off bill owner / chef came out degrading me I didn't know med rare burger in front of customers I tried to have words back but I wasn't up for war ! I'm a self taught chef built my website pict of my food ! Getting my cooking business back Jennysuniquefoodcreations.com Covid killed me ! I only eat med rare burgers and steak ! Atmosphere is cute and intimate with a decent dining area, small counter for pickup or takeout and a full bar selection including lots of beer varieties and Bloody Mary. We've had breakfast from here before and I was craving a good sandwich for lunch when my boyfriend suggested going to Cowbells reminding me I liked the breakfast. I was definitely happy with the choice ordering the small Italian but next time need's everything on it; I often find the lettuce and tomatoes I get on subs around here ruin it being wilted and brown so I held off on the toppings and saw how fresh everything looked upon opening the sun when we got home plus how great it tasted and wished I had gotten the toppings. I also tried a bite of the steak bomb sub which was also tasty and had me looking forward to trying one with mushrooms. The portion, price and quality are spot on and worth it. Service was fast and friendly; we were the only people in there but it was half hour to close on Sunday afternoon and we weren't treated like "those people" making the staff open everything they prepared to close and get home. great food, but I noticed the portions got small and the price increased in recent years. I like the hash and eggs and I get 1/3 of hash compared to a few years ago. my by bud gets eggs benedict which comes with almost no sauce. Great place but don't screw you customers for a higher profit. 33.00 for 2 breakfast plates and they were small. they need to change thier ways. thier cost could not of been more than 7.00 to make these and i'm being generous read more

i was about to finish my to go order and found a piece of hair on the hash. it's absolutely disgusting. i tipped 18% on a to go order which not many people do that, only to find hair on my food. i almost threw up. please check the photo and see the piece of hair that i saw while i was eating their food. overall bad customer service (didn't even give me any utensils and just drops the plastic bag on the counter) hair on food ------- downright the most disgusting. beware!!! especially covid times! finding hair?!???? on food?!!?? read more

Brand new diner in Whitman. I ordered the corned beef hash omelet with provolone cheese. I have to say it's probably the best breakfast in Whitman now. I'd like to start off by saying the service was great. Katie answered my call and took my order with a pleasant attitude and she was very helpful. Now to the food. Although not terrible or inedible, I'd say it was subpar. I ordered the big breakfast which consists of two pancakes, two eggs, two bacon and two sausage. I ordered it with blueberries and chocolate chips in the pancakes, added two more eggs and opted for all sausage and no bacon. The pancakes were just meh ok, they had ok flavor but the blueberries were all but flavorless and the pancakes themselves were very chewy, my guess is they were over mixed. The eggs were a bit dry for my particular taste but I'll take the blame for that as I should have specified to keep them a little wet. They were a bit rubbery and I had a hard time deciding if they were real fresh eggs or liquid egg. The sausage patty's had that familiar breakfast sausage taste but just like everything else they were rubbery. Now as far as the price goes I was taken aback just a bit. I know I had some substitutions but I paid $25.55 plus the $4.50 atm fee as they are cash only. So my breakfast of two pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage patties ended up costing me $30.05. That's insane. I can go to any number of nearby breakfast places and feed myself and someone else a much better meal for about the same price. It's a cute little place in a great location but for that price they need to do better. Save some time and money and go over to Teds Place up the road or any of the other great breakfast spots nearby and you'll fare much better! The menu online does not list their prices, nor does the receipt that I received when I picked up my order. Now I know why. Typically, I would give a place a second chance if I didn't like it the first time, but I don't see that happening here. read more

I was a little disappointed. I had expectations of a more homemade situation. My southern-raised dining partner was excited to see biscuits and gravy on the menu. If they were homemade, they were homemade another day and frozen, because the middle was still frozen when he got it. He ate around the biscuit, dipping his toast in the gravy. In general the food was missing flavor and seemed pre-prepared. On the plus side, the staff is friendly and likable. The decor and atmosphere is homey and comfortable. I like that in a breakfast place. The food does not need to be fancy. But I think they just need to take a fresh approach to it and this place would jump 2 more stars in my book. read more

What a great hidden gem. I stopped in the other day after my PT appointment next door, and ordered two bacon, eggs, and cheese with hash browns. Decided at the last minute to get a fruit plate and the woman said she didn't have enough to make a plate but could give me a cup. Perfect. And the thing that touched me most of all was that the family that owns it are the in laws to Sgt Daniel Vassilian. USMC that was killed in battle 10 years ago. He was from Abington and I remember when it happened. It stopped my heart and still does today as had no idea that this hidden gem was related. Say a prayer for our troops and their families. Great little breakfast/lunch place. I got the hash and eggs and it was incredible! Hash is fresh made daily, portions are huge comes with two eggs, hash browns, and toast. My wife get blueberry pancakes they were fluffy and delicious and wants again portions were huge. We will definitely be regular patrons of this establishment, great food and huge portions and $20 for two people to eat...can't beat it. I had the hash & eggs (2 eggs your choice with toast, corned beef, and potato hash) and the boy had the chicken BLT sandwich with fries. Corned beef was banging and when captured in one bite with the runny yolk and potato hash, divine! Chicken cutlet was juicy and had a nice seasoned crust. Server was good, but did end up charging the eggs separate from my hash & eggs. Error was quickly rectified so not a big deal. $20 including tip for two = a quick, belly filling lunch! I went to Cow Bells for the first time this week and will say it won't be the last time. It is very refreshing to have a new breakfast spot in town to choose from. I had the french toast which was absolute perfection. A side a bacon and some ( not needed but thoroughly enjoyed ) hashbrowns to complete breakfast. I have written a review for Cowbells before but it bears repeating. There is just nothing else like this place. The french toast is off the hook. My favorite breakfast is an egg white omelet with mushroom, spinach and bacon. The fresh fruit is actually fresh and the people are amazing. Dave behind the grill, comes out smiling and says hello to his customers. His enthusiasm for his business is reflected in the food. Its fresh, carefully made and beautifully presented. The waitstaff always impresses me. My favorite is Kim. She is sassy, fun and always greets her clients with a smile. I love this place and Whitman is lucky to have it.
