Yes! The restaurant is a very nice place. We visited it on a weekday and it was less crowded and no waits. My girlfriend had their biscuit with gravy and I had a taste and it was delicious. We intend on making another visit again soon and once again we are going to go on a weekday. read more

I can't believe I've lived in this town for 10+ years and have never been here...until now! This is your classic old-school breakfast joint serving homemade food that tastes like grandma is in the back making it for you... On our first visit here, my husband and I came right before they were closing to go on vacation so they ran out of a lot of things such as homefries and english muffins, but we didn't mind. And because of this, I discovered I prefer hashbrowns to homefries! They were crunchy, salty and delicious. My over-easy eggs were cooked perfectly and the serving of bacon was beyond generous, but my favorite were the pancakes - so airy and fluffy, I couldn't get enough! Excellent breakfast here the other day. I ordered French toast with sausage and added home fries with pepper and onion. Delicious. Customer service was excellent. Coffee was great too in a nice sized mug. Parking was easy right out front. Not happy I just discovered this place. I've been missing out. Great breakfast place. They also serve lunch. Oh my gosh amazing absolute one of the best breakfast we have ever had. We were in the area doing some pick ups of items that I had to get for a veterans event on October 22. I promised the honey I'd take him out for breakfast so I put in my Yelp page breakfast brunch which would mean I could either get breakfast all day or at least up until noon and it led me to Martin's restaurant. Best trip ever so glad we went everybody was super friendly and kind explained all the different menu items what they had to offer we ended up settling the other half got corn beef hash and dropped eggs with rye toast and I got eggs Benedict instead of having Canadian bacon and a full ham steak all the way across the plate in between the eggs and the English muffins the only downside was was that the English muffins were not cooked enough for me but the owner came over and spoke with us afterwards and said next time just say cook them a little bit more and we will. He was very friendly my other half as a veteran he ended up giving him a $10 gift card to come back any other time they have breakfast or lunch on them. When he also found out about the veterans benefit event that we are having on the 22nd he donated $40 in gift cards to the raffle table. He also invite us back to a veterans breakfast he has on the first Wednesday of every month I will put the flyer in this post. He said anyone can come if you're a veteran and you can bring your spouse with you. And also the coffee was out of this world it was a little on the strong side which is exactly the way we like it so you have a taste to it unlike some restaurants who make it and it's just I don't know it taste like water it's just terrible but this one was perfect I am so looking forward to going back there again soon. I thought I left a review here but I guess I didn't. Well this place is the worst. I went with my small children once here and my oldest usually liked steak tips and he ordered some and they tasted awful and he was upset like kids get and I asked the waitress kindly if we could order something different and she agreed. No smile but agreed. And she brought the steak tips back and my son and I overheard the cook yell " THIS IS NOT THE OUBACKSTEAK HOUSE!!" Which got my son in tears. So I never came back for many years after that. Then one day years later I was with a friend and I figured give them one last chance. And my hit food was cold when it arrived and my friend's milkshake was warm. So I refuse to step in that place again. Waste of my money read more

Love going here for breakfast because the food is good and the service is very fast. The food is always fresh and the menu is full of options to choose from. I always end up buying one pancake just for the hell of it and usually take one bite out of it. The omelettes are never burned like most places. I've eaten here a few times before while visiting family in Massachusetts. Small greasy spoon type diner. I've only had breakfast...it's okay food with friendly staff. I've had the english muffin McMartin with bacon twice now...it was tasty but definitely unhealthy. My english muffin wasn't crisply toasted like I would've liked. I ate some of my husbands fried potatoes, needed salt but were cooked well. He also got a breakfast quesadilla, it was good but would've benefited from some mexican heat. Service could've been a bit better, some of us received food without getting utensils and one if our party had to wait a bit longer for his food while the rest of us were forced to be rude and had to dig in before our food got cold. Prices are nice and cheap, so you can't go wrong there. Family likes to go here so I'm sure I'll be back again. read more

Sit down to a filthy food covered table, waitress says she'll be back in a minute but returns after 10 minutes to take our order. Ordered a simple omelet that took 25 minutes for them to make, asked for no mushrooms-got mushrooms. Worst breakfast in town. If I get gift certificates next year to this dump I will either donate them to charity or burn them. read more

I'm a Rockland native but have known of martins my whole life. This place is old fashioned, and has a real at home feel. Foods always great, with of course prices being more than reasonable. Makes me scratch my head at how they can afford to stay open with such trying times. I hope the town can help rally this local landmark and keep it running for the next generations to come. And side note: the one time I went to the old town cafe across the street, I was accused of chewing and screwing there which made me never give them another ounce of business again, it was the one of the most rude/ignorant comments I've ever heard from a server. Well we have been twice and it was EXCELLENT both times! The waitresses are super friendly and talkative- which is nice! Busy, but not overly crowded. We had lunch/breakfast- first time American chop suey, steak tips and pancakes all excellent- second time, all was so good the quesadilla egg scramble is a standout! As are the steak tips and the American chop suey! We wanted to try the Mac and cheese but we'd already ordered and certain picky eaters won't eat it if they don't love it, so the waitress being kind brought us a sample To try, best best around! So Good! Thank you Martin's! Keep Up the good food!! Well, it was a third visit and disappointment... the service was Slow, the portions were tiny and well I felt unwelcome when I asked the waitress, if she was by herself, to which she said yes, and was then rather rude after that!!! Went on a "special menu" night and it was mediocre at best. Not like the breakfast, AT ALL! The YELP God's brought me here, glad they did,.from cheerful service to a fantastic breakfast of Steak tips and eggs, the tips were so tender that you could have cut them with the butter knife for what I got and what I paid I would say it's a steal, about 7 large tips that I cut at least 2 more times to eggs the way I asked for them to everything being so good, no need for steak sauce for the tips, just dip them in your yolk, perfection.. The last couple of times I went there my kids and I went they were still little and my son who was about 6 or so ordered steak tips and didn't like then so we asked if he could order something else and we over heard the cook say in reference to our request"thi isn't the outback steakhouse!!" Always been open by 530 AM or earlier when we stop in. Large portions, and way cheap prices. I told him he needs to raise them. Two eggs, bacon and pancakes for under $5?? I feel like I'm ripping the guy off! Food quality is excellent also. Oatmeal is my personal favorite though, comes with blueberries, strawberries, and or raisins.
