Rockland's townie has a pearl of a kitchen! Call ahead only for takeout, and the online menu is abysmally outdated, but hey - think of food you'd normally eat at a bar, and they'll have it. Only it's better than what you'd normally eat at a bar, because it's really flippin' delicious. Gigantic logs of heavily seasoned and breaded mozzarella are underserved by being called "sticks." They are truly massive, and while my wife was a bit put off by the heavy hand that applies the Italian breadcrumb herbs and crust, I found it a pleasant variation of the light, wispy beer batter. And did I mention these things are huge? Absolutely steal for $8. Crinkle cut fries were crisp after the ride home, and while I like my steak bomb, I didn't love it. Way too bready (which was also bone dry) and the shape of the thing made it nearly impossible to eat as a sandwich. I gave up and fork+knifed its insides. Pretty cool when you're waiting for your food in your car and you see a 6ft leprechaun stumble in the bar. Has nothing to do the star rating here, but I had to tell someone, yknow?

The Banner is one of your all in one kind of places. Pub/Restaurant, Bakery, and Deli in one building - ALL IRISH. Bakery and Deli to the left entrance, Pub and Restaurant to the right. Felt like I was in the Matrix choosing which way to go, I ended up choosing the right door and entered the pub/restaurant portion of this establishment. Bar area seemed to be filled with regulars. Sat at a tall table to the side. Ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries, and unfortunately I couldn't eat much of it. The pork itself was sliced in thick slices which would have been fine if there wasn't large pieces of fat just hanging off it. The roll was quickly moistened and fell apart. Impossible to pick up. Ended up mostly just filling my belly with the french fries. Staff was friendly enough. Had a Budweiser draft (1 of 3 beers on tap) with my meal. Place was pretty deserted other than the bar itself and the few tables set up. Not on the top of my list to return to. Fun to check out, though I doubt I'd return at any time.

Tonight I stopped by to grab some dinner so I didn't have to cook. I picked the chicken parmigiana dinner. It cost me about $13 but I swear I got 3 meals worth of food!! The flavor is amazing, I could barely finish 1/3! If you have a big appetite, or your eyes are much bigger than your stomach, this is the place for you!

This is a $7.95 fish sandwich. It was great!

I'm ANNOYED and TORN on my review for this place. The food is mostly TOPS--except for rather poor bar pizza--but the service (if you can call it that) is the most consistently BAD service that I've had IN MY LIFE! The brunette barmaid has to be the RUDEST service person that I've run into in the "Hospitality" industry--bar none!!! The owner Ed has NEVER smiled at me or opened up a conversation. Too bad--as they have BOMB Karaoke with Mark Shom on Thursdays. The blackboard menu is VERY good and prices/portions are MORE than fair. Why can't you just have some manners and treat people nicely???

Great burgers, they're huge. The menu is very impressive

We are here to visit fam and got the recommendation to check out the local dive bar. Honestly, glad we did. We came back here twice during our 4.5 day visit. Try out their famous Fish & Chips. AND! They got Yuengling, my favorite regional beer or the east coast. Win win. Great service, big portions, delicious eats. Check it out!

She was the only one literally waiting tables, working behind the bar and bringing food out with a very busy and packed restaurant during the peak of lunchtime! We're very observant and noticed they were short staffed but it not feel like they were because Shelby was that great. Mozzarella sticks were crispy on the outside with great gooey cheese pull inside. Fries could've used an extra minute to crisp up but the flavor was good and we didn't mind it too much. The pizzas are very delicious! Great undercarriage and crust is cooked to perfection with great flavor. The Shepards pie was the star of the show! Perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious!!! I would come back everyday just for the Shepards pie. So glad I ordered it and my husband and son ate it with me. I highly recommend this establishment. Shelby is wonderful and other staff that came in were friendly as well we're finishing up. Clean and organized sports cafe with a full bar and big screen TVs. Very casual with good music. It was a small gathering (just 4 of us) and this seemed like a fun thing to do. We've been to SOT a few times and it's always been great. I checked the website to see if there was a Thanksgiving menu, and there wasn't. This suited us just fine because we love the menu. Our out-of-town guest brought desserts, so the plan was to have dinner at SOT and dessert at home. Imagine our shock to arrive and find an unappetizing and expensive prix fixe Thanksgiving menu. I had the Caesar salad which was utter slop. It was like a packaged Dole salad, but far worse because there was too much dressing and too much cheese. Upon further reflection, I'm not sure this *wasn't* a bagged salad that someone tried to spruce up with more dressing and cheese. Blech. Two of us went against our better judgement and got the $72 (!) Thanksgiving entree and it was slop too: Slices of dry turkey piled atop gross stuffing with a pile of squash on one side and a scoop of mashed potatoes on the other, all slathered in nasty brown gravy. The cranberry sauce was the only good thing and it helped ameliorate the shabbiness, but there wasn't enough of it to save this unappealing orgy of brown food. It was sad that there was no vegetable in this entree, but I guess vegetables would have been too difficult to pull off for the crowds they had. Two of us got the haddock and said the corn chowder with bacon was much too salty. Dessert was nothing special. Before being seated, there was the chaos we encountered at the front of the house. The restaurant was clearly overbooked. We got there at 5:05 for our 5:15 reservation to find the area from the bar to the front door packed with people waiting to be seated. A senior citizen was sitting sadly on a chair by the front door, getting blasts of cold air every time the door opened. When she and her party were seated I had my mother (80 years old) sit on the lone chair. People just kept piling in... it was loud, stressful, and dangerous. KUDOS TO THE STAFF FOR ENDURING THIS LEVEL OF CHAOS WITH PATIENCE AND GRACE! The second star is for them. I have to ask: Did someone at SOT decide to foist a Thanksgiving menu upon everyone at the last minute? If I'd seen that menu I wouldn't have made a reservation. I've always liked SOT but I'm not sure we'll ever go back. We had fun together because the atmosphere there is always festive, but we truly felt insulted by that dinner, and bamboozled by having to order from a menu we didn't expect. Our dinner came up to $316, $386 with tip. If the food had been spectacular we wouldn't have minded, but this was shameful. The owners will have made a killing yesterday, but this experience killed our Thanksgiving. NO THANKS AND NEVER AGAIN.
