Classic south shore bar pizza - hit the spot! - A large slice of cheese pizza with melted cheese and a slightly charred crust is placed on red and white checkered paper on a wooden table. The pizza appears to be freshly baked, with some browned spots on the cheese and crust. In the background, there are napkins, a glass of beverage, and other dining items.

Excited to update my review that on our second attempt, though the place was again quite busy, we got to try the bar pizza. Classic south shore style, this really hit the spot. Service continued to be a little challenging and from a different vantage point at the bar I think this may be due to the layout. Right in the center of the bar is a huge wall with the POS systems and where much if the liquor is stored, but the wells are at the ends so it's a trip back to that wall anytime you have to ring anything up and the wall also obstructs their view into the kitchen (and thusly the kitchen's view to them). There weren't any food runners so our bartenders kept having to leave the bar to check food and you could see they were getting sweaty and fatigued. While may be making for a good workout I think that this is preventing more smooth communication and support between the bar and the kitchen and when ONLY bartenders are staffing the place any seated dining is hard for them to see and take care of while keeping track of everything else. It's very clear however that a wait/some inefficiency is not stopping what seems to be a VERY loyal local following of regulars from packing this place!

    Some of the pub decor.

Fun basement Irish pub. Cheap and good pub food from a small menu. Serves sandwiches, burgers, snacks, and small single size pizzas. Definitely a place that has established regulars. Nice staff.

The owner is usually there and it shows. Everything is excellent. Bartenders are attentive. Food never disappoints.

Best bar pizza in Marshfield and beyond. Crunchy crust and yummy sauce. Don't sleep on this one.

If you go, the tenders are an absolute must- we got 2 orders to go as well! We also got the chocolate pistachio martini and the Neil's lullaby alcoholic drinks- both amazing. My dad got 2 of the Neil's because it was so good. My mom's entree was fish and chips which was perfect. There wasn't a lot of extra batter on it which was great. My dad got the clam chowder bread bowl and barbecued steak tips and coleslaw. Both were incredible obviously. I got the smokehouse chicken sandwich which was, again, incredible. Lastly, we split one of their specials of the day which was toffee pudding with mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was so yummy but I didn't like the texture of the bread pudding (just my own weird thing, the flavor was still great). Their portions are HUGEEEEEE so you'll definitely need to-go boxes and extra room in the fridge. I saved my appetite all day to eat here and it was most definitely worth it. The service was great, all of the staff were very friendly. We went during the lunch rush on a Saturday so we had to wait about 30 minutes for inside seating. They do have outdoor tent seating with heat but we liked the look of the place inside and really wanted to sit there. We will absolutely be coming here again soon!

On our first night in Salem, my friends and I chose this place for dinner, and we were immediately glad we did. Every dish tasted homemade and full of flavor, and the service, especially from our server Elisha, was warm, attentive, and personable. We started with the charred broccoli mac & cheese, which arrived piping hot and baked to perfection. Every bite was rich, creamy, and delicious. Honestly, it's up there with the best mac & cheeses I've ever had. For entrées, we shared the shepherds pie and the steak tips. The shepherds pie, made with a hearty mix of lamb, beef, peas, carrots, house mashed, and cheddar cheese, was fresh and perfectly balanced. The steak tips were cooked to our liking, tender, and seasoned beautifully. Both dishes were comforting and satisfying. Olde Main Street Pub delivered exactly what we were hoping for: great food, genuine service, and a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Salem.
