Starter: Clam Chowder ($7). Mostly potatoes and the soup was not too thick. Sad. Main: Beef Barbacoa Street Tacos ($7 each). Barbacoa was under seasoned, and the price is pretty staggering. I know it's Boston, so there isn't a lot of Latin influence, but you can do better. Service: On point, so I gave them a star. Ambiance: Pub has open area that faces the water. Guy was playing cover songs on his guitar, which was nice. Overall: The food is okay, but a little overpriced. I'm not sure I would visit again. read more

Stopped here when visiting Plymouth and definitely gave nice local vibes! There was a guitarist playing on Saturday afternoon which was fun. Our table ordered a few hotdogs, pretzel bites, and a grilled cheese - the boys saw a 2/$5 hotdog deal online but sounds like we just missed this! Food was all great, pub food vibes, and our server was quick. read more

Pillory is amazing it's pretty packed most nights and hard to get up to bar but after you get a drink it's great.

Came here for the first time 11/16 food was excellent came out nice and hot. Service was also very good took out water very quickly and food was cooked fast.. read more

Pillory Pub - Ocean, - Pubs Near Me - Plymouth, Massachusetts

The beer selection was quite underwhelming with a wide range of mostly mediocre beer. Similar was the food which was nothing more than typical pub food, so was the ambience. Service was excellent, and the price after all felt not bad for a common pub. read more

Great Location The atmosphere Is very nice. A rectangle window was open to see the harbor. We had good. Rubin, grilled cheese and TBCM. The size of the sandwiches was nice. They taste was amazing on all three. The staff was friendly and efficient as she was alone and handled it well. Food prices aren't bad for the location. Alcoholic drinks are pricey and they do have a great selection. Highly recommend. Thanks read more

Ducked into Pillory Pub on a whim. Their "yes, our air conditioner is on" sign probably lured me in subconsciously given the 90°+ temps. Kitchen was running a bit behind, but I ordered a "tipsy pilgrim" (note: tasted like a rum runner), while I waited. The waitresses were friendly and accommodating, though they could have been a bit more attentive. Prices are reasonable, but portion sizes are also small. I opted for a hot dog and chips, which is well outside the norm for me, but something said "do it." It was good. It wasn't great, as the hotdog was over cooked and hard/dry on the outside. But it was good. This place would be ideal for a small group looking to get drinks and people watch. The draft menu is expansive, and rocking chairs allow you to enjoy a drink while overlooking the harbor and its guests. read more

The original Pillory was fantastic and why the Yelp rating looks so good. Prior to new owners you would get two great hot dogs for $5. Now a single is over $8. Complaint for a mother day is they also stopped the pretzels with beer cheese. A great local spot turned into just another tourist trap. read more

Idk who's in the kitchen but he's serving up the best hotdogs south of Boston. I Love this Pub!! consistently has great live music and a great crowd of locals. If it's late night this is the place to be. Welcome to the industry!! Don't forget to pay your respects to the Rock down the street! read more

Great spot right across from the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock. Very cute dive bar with great selections of cider and beer! Definitely try the beer cheese and pretzels and get a hot dog! A few nice rocking chair seats with a view, if you can get a chair! Plenty of tables packed within this establishment. A decent beer list and a nice place to take a break on a hot summer day. We tried a couple of hot dogs and were left a little disappointed. Nachos were large and covered in toppings yet there was no real flavor or taste from the canned cheese sauce, jarred jalapeños and dry chicken that covered the tortilla chips fresh from the bag. Still, a spot worthy of popping in for a drink or two. read more

Do not order the $13 burger unless you like getting ripped off and having your intelligence insulted. The patty was a little larger than an Oreo cookie about 2.5". WTF. NEVER again. I've suffered through cold hot dogs and rude staff at this place for the last time. go for the view and the drinks but do not order food at this rip off place. I am disgusted. read more

This is my favorite place to visit in Plymouth. Took my daughter for lunch and two meals, iced tea, and root beer were less than thirty dollars, which is totally affordable (less than McDonald's Big Macs). The hot dog selections are the best, and she had a grilled cheese which she enjoyed. Both meals included a bag of chips. Even though they were very busy, the cheerful service and professionalism were very much appreciated along with the priceless view of The Mayflower while dining. read more

This was a great little spot right across the street from the waterfront. The clientele was a total mixed bag so you'll fit in here no matter what you look like, as long as you're ready to have a fun time! The live music was wonderful, they had a great beer selection, and we enjoyed some of their fancy hot dogs for dinner. Admittedly, the hot dogs were kind of weird as far as shape and texture, and they weren't quite filling enough to be considered a meal even with the side. My husband got a little extra by way of a cup of chowder and left satisfied! read more

I only gave it 3 stars because we just stopped for drinks. Can't comment on the food. They had a good selection of draft beers. They even had non-alcoholic beer. so everyone was happy! read more

Best hot dogs & panini's! Wonderful bartenders and staff! Awesome view of the Mayflower and boats when the front window is open!

Decided on a whim to take a ride to Plymouth to see the sights we haven't seen since we were kids. Fun day exploring Plymouth! On the way back to the car we passed by Pillory Pub and the open window with the amazing view drew us in. We sat in the rocking chairs and people watched for 2 hours! Did not eat any food but the drinks were cold, staff was polite, and the atmosphere was fun. It's definitely worth a trip to the Pillory Pub if you're visiting Plymouth! read more

Our au pair walked into the Pub to have a beer this evening, only to be met with hostility and racism by the female bartender. When she tried to order, she was told that she was not understood in a condescending and insulting manner. We will never frequent this establishment again, and will make sure that our extended family, who resides here, will avoid it with a ten foot pole as well. Unacceptable. read more

Waterfront view? Check. Multiple Beer on Tap? Check. Great employees? Check. Rocking Chairs to people watch? Check!! This place is perfect for a pit stop or a full afternoon of libations. They have a food menu, but I only drink there so I can only speak to that! I love coming here on a beautiful weekend and sitting in the rocking chairs, people watching, boat watching, and just having a relaxing time. Pillory Pubs atmosphere allows all customers to enjoy their time at their establishment with no judgment. I have come to befriend all of my neighbors each time I am there since everyone has the same plans on their mind! For the beer drinkers: They have 16 beers on tap, and plenty of bottles and cans to choose from. You can easily tell what its available by looking at the chalkboard to the right of the bar. For the liquor drinkers: Try whatever their special drink is of that day, everytime I do, it's fantastic! Overall, stop here for a few if you are coming to town, going on the town or about the leave town, you'll leave Pillory a bit happier for sure. read more

Good service, beer is fine (nothing crazy, just your standard bottled and draft), but the food is not good in my opinion. The Italian panini sandwich was not worth it. I think they're more known for their hot dogs, if you're into hot dogs.. read more

Came here and managed to grab the best seats in the place - the rocking chairs by the large open windows with an awesome late-summer breeze! We loved this place! The view was awesome, but the rocking chairs/front row scenic seats weren't available when we went. We sat at the bar and although it did take a while for the waitress to acknowledge us, she was very nice and we knew she was really busy. I was tempted to try a $5 margarita but refrained... I had the lobster slider and cup of clam chowder lunch for $10. Perfect little portion size and was very tasty. Although, the clam chowder wasn't the best I've had.. Still pretty good though! What a great little pub! We saw this place as we were walking to see Plymouth Rock. Since we were lucky to find a parking spot close, we decided to eat here. The wait staff was friendly, the food was reasonably priced, and you could look out onto the street and across to the water from the front open wall, which is lined with rocking chairs. We gave this a two thumbs up! read more

My husband and I stopped in for a drink and some food to go. The drinks had no alcohol. They were made wrong. His burger was microwaved, bun and all. My pretzel bites were rubbery because they too were microwaved. The cheese sauce was watery. We spent $52 plus tip for the worst food I have ever eaten. The service was terrible. The bartender was sitting with her friends on the customer side of the bar and had an attitude when taking our order. I will never go back there. read more

Great local pub. Bartender was great & knowledgeable. Locals & tourists mix nicely here.

Absolutely in love with this place. Awesome for large groups, they'll rearrange tables and everything. Unlike a lot of places downtown they are super nice about splitting up tabs, saving everyone the headache later on. The rocking chairs looking out to Water St. are to die for. The absolute best part of the Pillory is their prices. They absolutely destroy everywhere else. Haven't tried much of the food but the stuffed quahog is decent. Hands down. Awesome atmosphere. Awesome people. read more

My family stopped in to get out of the cold and have a drink and a snack. We split one of the hot dogs and it was delicious! I can't remember the name of it but it was the one with jalapeños on it!
