    Taps galore!

Notwithstanding my photos of the sleek marble and stainless steel taps and the liquor selection, I can't speak to their cocktails or beer options...yet! So far, I've had the clam chowder and I came back for seconds a week later. It may be the best chowder on the South Shore! It boasts mode flavor and body than what I'm accustomed to at the standard Plymouth-area waterfront locales. I agree with those who noted that the fish tacos are delicious. I adored mine, eating them so fast that I forgot to snap a picture! The staff are friendly and are clearly passionate about their product. The aesthetic is a comfortable mix of smooth jazz, veined marble, corrugated metal, distressed wood and cosy leather. I am sad that I won't have a regular reason to visit this part of Duxbury regularly now that winter sports clinics are winding down!

A friend and I were looking for a decent place to get a bite in the area after an all day event, and I'm so happy I found The Oysterman. Pull into the parking lot, and it's the building in front of the shops. You might think you're lost but you're not. They have a nice outdoor seating area with 5 tables, with a large bar and ~ 6-8 tables inside. I loved the ambience, it is beautiful, higher end and casual at the same time. I started with a half dozen oysters from Duxbury, thanks to Cam's recommendation, and we ordered a side of bread. The oysters were so fresh and delicious, and the bread was pretty good. My friend ordered the Oysterman Egg Rolls which I tried and it was amazing with their Maple Dijon sauce. I tried their "The Purple Dragon" because it seemed to be the closest to my signature drink, but it did not hit the spot for me personally. I didn't even get a chance to bring it up, and Cam noticed I was not drinking and asked if I liked it, or if there was something else she could do for me. She made a great Spicy Margarita and immediately improved the meal. I chose this place because they seemed to have inclusive menu options for all tastes, but I couldn't decide because there were so many good options. We were told even though it is primarily a seafood restaurant, most of the locals love the burgers. I usually avoid meat, and burgers are not my favorite, but we both ordered the burger and it must have been one of the best I've ever had. The fries were good and with the Maple Dijon on the side per Cam's recommendation, they were great. The food came out in a timely manner. I have to shout out the amazing service provided by Cam, Lexi, Jackie, and Mynor. Lexi, the host, kept us up to date on the outdoor seating, but we ended up staying at the bar because Cam the bartender was amazing. I asked her so many questions and recommendations and she was more than happy to help throughout the meal. Jackie stepped in to assist and Mynor, the manager, was very attentive and helped the staff with seating and food which is a great quality to have, rather than watching them. The staff here is impeccable, helpful, friendly, and service can make or break the meal. Thank you to the staff -- and especially Cam for your patience and help! I highly recommend The Oysterman if you are in the area, or even if you'd need to go out of your way to check it out, and I recommend reservations. We had such a lovely time at the oysterman! The oysters were absolutely fantastic and we loved the crab cake sandwich and the Mac and cheese. The fish and chips were also delicious! We called on a Monday around 5 to see if they had availability around 6:30-7 and were told the earliest reservation was for 7:45. Disappointed, we figured we'd try to walk in. About 5 minutes later, we received a call back that they were able to move some things around and that they could accommodate us! We were so thankful. The only downside was that it seemed to take quite some time for our food to come out. Other than that, no complaints and we loved our meal with friends!!

    Dozen oysters, $34. Excellent.

2 of us arrived around 5pm, and although we had reservations, there were 2 seats left at the bar, so we ate there. At this point, there were several open tables inside and 1 or 2 outside. FOOD: The oysters were fresh, sand free and excellent quality. The fish and chips was cooked perfectly. The coating was seasoned and a bit thick, which I like but its a personal preference as I know some prefer a thinner coating. It arrives as one piece and was large enough to split. SERVICE: Cam was the bartender who looked after us. She is friendly and attentive. Everyone we encountered there had a smile and seemed to cultivate a nice team feeling. BAR: comfy seats. Not a huge wine selection, however, sufficient for my needs. $12 for house chard, average pour. ATMOSPHERE: clearly some thought went into designing this place. Even when full and lots of conversations going on, the sound level was fine to have a conversation without shouting. The ceiling has sound panels which I am sure allowed this. I wish more places would install these.

Went out to Dinner on the 4th with a Co-Worker last night, went to The Oysterman in Duxbury, never been there, but he suggested it, I started with a Fresh Cedar Salad, and I got the Risotto with Scallops and Bacon, one of the best ones I've had, he had Smash Burger with Fries, everything was so good and fresh, went to The Fireworks afterwards in Duxbury, and enjoyed the Show, Happy Fourth of July everyone

Stopped in to grab some lunch apres a round of golf. Good call. Great quaint seafaring atmosphere. Restaurant is on the smaller side with inside and outside dining, weather permitting. We chose to sit outside. Comfortable seating. The waitstaff was awesome. Our waitress, Julie was excellent. Attentive, friendly, courteous and professional. Food was also excellent, well prepared and delicious. We order the chicken Caesar salad, tuna poke and the oysters po'boy. To my surprise, it was the best oysters po'boy I had this side of New Orleans. The oysters were fresh, plump, lightly battered, cooked to perfection and overflowing in a toasted roll. Fresh Cole slaw and crispy French fries. Highly recommend. We will definitely return to try the other items on the menu. For me, definitely getting the oysters po'boy again soon.

I came here for dinner last night (on a Tuesday) at 7:30 PM. I asked for a table for 2 and there was an outside option or inside at the bar. Since it was a chilly night, we opted for indoors and were the only two people sitting at the bar for dinner. The bartender was also our server and she was incredibly friendly. She chatted with us a bit about COVID, the restaurant industry, where we were coming from and she thanked us for stopping in as it was our first time! I started with the Blackberry Basil Gimlet which came out quickly and was very prettily presented with a basil leaf and fresh blackberry skewer. It was a well balanced cocktail - both fruity and smooth. We got a dozen raw oysters as our app. I wish I remembered what type, but they were obviously from Duxbury. They had a good briny start and a fresh finish. Definitely lip-smacking good! For meals, he wanted the jerk spiced short ribs, but they were out of that as well as the tuna lettuce wraps (we were given a heads up before we ordered, so it wasn't as much of a disappointment). Instead, he got the crab cake BLT and finished off every bite (literally every fry and the coleslaw too - ha). He obviously hated it... The bartender recommended the bolognese, which is what I got. It was a hearty bowl of fresh rigatoni pasta with shredded, braised pork and beef. The only thing I would have asked for is more "sauce" to the sauce. I wanted it more tomatoey and a bit wetter. No matter, it was still delicious. All in all, this was a very good meal with great service. I would come back and try more seafood options like the chowder, tuna wraps and the lobster roll. And more oysters, please!!!

Big fan of the Oysterman. It's popular but the menu never changes. Occasionally there are great specials. Can get loud.

I have eaten here in the past for take out but there is a inside dining section which serves seafood and other items beach fast food items like quesadillas, sandwiches fries, etc. This time we actually sat inside which was primarily to be in the shade since it's been really hot out... 95°. Personally I wanted to eat outside but the hubby insisted. So the ambiance is shack casual... so casual where you have random fishing net lights, photos and signs that cover the walls with picnic tables, sandy sub flooring and humongous trash barrels between picnic tables and plastic pool chairs. We sat on plastic chairs in the square picnic table by the door to get some sea breeze. They have ceiling fans and screen porch windows in the front. Their silverware was plastic and take out paper plates. Now that I confirmed the beach shanty ambiance, here's the hilarious part.. Blakemans is literally on the beach that shares the changing room on the other side of building by the parking lot. Indoor showers are out of order and zero outside shower to rinse off. So, I am still wearing my beachwear which consists of a well padded bikini top and a fully covered bottom wrap. The host who seated us inside never mentions a dress code but once we ordered our food, our server sublimly said "do you have a shirt you could put on"...lol!!!! Look, I completely respect and understand what an appropriate dress code for dining in but if you looked at this place without any exaggeration, what I wore was completely fitting! Then again, I can understand that this is a private restaurant with dresscode but a) it was practically empty b) the families with babies are way in the back just in case they might have thought a bikini top was distracting ( I don't have huge boobs either) c) it's a beach shack...with plastic ware!!! Did I mention the gigantic trash barrels right next to us?? This is such a joke! Without hesitation I of course complied...I respectfully get it. I changed and wore a crochet netted long sleeve shirt over a bralette...hmmm. Now to the food... I ordered Pinot Grigio wine that arrived in a small bottle with a plastic dental cup hanging over on top that you get on airlines, hubby ordered beer and my daughter ordered a very sugary bottled lemonade...the one that you can dilute with a bottle of water and have two lemonades. We ordered the dozen oysters, a crab cake and the lobster rolls. The Powderpoint oysters were good except I'm surprised it wasn't Island Creek oysters which are actually close by and delicious... Figured they might do business with them. The lobster rolls were just okay. The portions were generous but the flavor was a little off for me. As much as I preferred melted butter on a lobster roll, these were traditionally made with mayo with pieces of celery but they had additional spices which isn't completely necessary if the meat is good and sweet. I eat a lot of lobster rolls and I found that this particular lobster meat on the dryer side with a lite chipotle sauce after taste. Our entrees were served with one small coleslaw which was absolutely horrible and tasted like tartar sauce and their curly fries which were ok. The crab cakes were pretty good and plumpy and I think they mixed a little corn in them. There was no dessert available to order in this fine establishment so no comment there. The service was a bit scattered. I thought we had only one server but they were various servers bringing our food and throwing away our leftovers to the arm length trash barrel. Everyone seem to be relatively polite and the majority of them were recent college students. The only time we saw our original server was at the end when she brought our bill. The eatery have only one unisex bathroom that is handicap accessible..no lock...only a hook...some kid tried to open the door after I yelled "there's somebody in here"...Can this moment get any better? So in conclusion I don't know if I would come come back for a dining experience. It's just not that "wait in line around the corner" place that it could potentially be. There needs to be a lot of changes with everything. I understand that this place has been here historically but things could use a wake up call and "get real" to bring more business...the place was practically empty inside.

Winsor is Wonderful!…read more I see that Yelpers do not love Winsor due to the low ratings and reviews but I have to ask why. What I will say is if you read these bad reviews you might be surprised at what people complain about. But, on a more positive note, this will be my 3rd time dining here and everytime has been wonderful (hence my title). The food, ambiance, drinks, etc. you really can't go wrong with any of them. And, the drive there is also stunning. Duxbury as you know is a beautiful beach and golf city with million dollar homes along the way. Cha-Ching! I arrived a little early while I waited for my friend to arrive. The restaurant was not overly crowded which was good for a Friday evening. We sat right near the fireplace which was super nice. When my friend arrived we started with some drinks. Then we were so torn as to what to order so we started with their Tuna Crudo. My favorite since it was super fresh, melt in your mouth sashimi. Yummy! Then we shared a salad which was just ok. For entrees, she ordered the Linquine Vongole which looked good but a huge portion. I ordered Fluke for the first time and although it wasn't what I am used to, I still enjoyed it. We passed on dessert and had coffee with amaro; they have some nice after dinner drinks. All I have to say is go see for yourself that this gorgeous, south shore spot is perfect for any occassion. Or even if you want to grab a glass of wine/drink and sit at the bar, that sounds good too! Cheers~!
