First timer to First watch. I'd heard so much about this place, I was excited to try it. It's open and cute inside. The restroom was clean. I'm giving it 4 stars for my personal experience, though my friend would probably shoot for 3 stars. I started with a newly released juice--very ginger-forward and delicious. Have them make it with light ice. I ordered the banana pancake with granola crunch and a side of Millions Dollar Bacon. I was thoroughly delighted by my choices. That bacon is soooooooo good. My friend ordered a grilled pumpkin muffin and a side of fresh fruit, which is where the disappointment was. The fruit was mostly grapes and some strawberries that had clearly gone past their point of freshness. Our waitress, Molly, confirmed fruit is prepped each morning, but it certainly looked over ripe and slimy. Molly graciously removed the item from our bill. One other small issue is that the artificial coffee creamers sit on each table, but you have to ask for real cream. I don't drink coffee, but I know this is important to those that do! Ask for the good stuff when you order!

Yum! A delicious and cute breakfast restaurant. I said to my husband it feels like I'm on vacation eating breakfast down south somewhere, and low & behold, I discovered this chain originated in Florida! Anyways, the menu is full of "elevated" breakfast items. I ordered the biscuits & gravy with eggs over-easy. It was delicious! I think the biscuit could have been better but the gravy, eggs and potatoes were great! My husband ordered the "trifecta" with a waffle and a side of biscuits & gravy. He licked his plate clean. The biscuits & gravy side was the same portion size as my meal! I would definitely come back here to try other things off the menu :)

Love this place! First discovered it in Austin, Texas and I was hooked. The freshness of this food is the best. The avocado toast is better than mine and that's saying something. I can eat that every day. Today it was pretty but a15-20 min wait was worth it.

This is the 1st location in Mass. I've been to one in AZ and was very excited when they opened one here. 1st, you have to join the waitlist online. This is the best thing ever. We live about 40 minutes away, and we got there just in time. It was busy as you can imagine on a Saturday brunch. We started with the bacon cornbread. SO GOOD!! I ordered the breakfast tacos and 1 pancake. Both great, added a little hot sauce for the tacos!! My wife ordered the avocado toast. She thought it was just ok, time for her to try something new!! We will definitely be back. We love how they have new items on the me u all the time!

The service was great. You can put your name on the waitlist ahead of time which is nice since they don't take reservations. They do have gluten free bread and it's okay. The tres leches french toast isn't milky at all. It mostly just has a strawberry compote on top is all. Similarly the carrot cake pancake has just a few pieces of carrot in it and tastes basic. But always order the million dollar bacon. It's always a staple for first watch.

It's been a while in between visits here but Wow! What a decline! I'm disappointed in myself for pushing past the extremely strong sewage odor at the front door to get this $20 sandwich and mushy fruit cup...let me know when their quality is back to opening day level quality-- if that ever happens.

I got an excited call from a friend on Wednesday wanting to try First Watch on Thursday. when she read the menu to me, I already knew what we were going to order. We ventured down, braving the unusual traffic for.a Thursday, to try it out. The atmosphere was good. It was a little loud and cramped but they had a few cute details like the colourful menu boards and menus that look like newspapers. We were served impeccably by our server, Sarah. She was attentive and responsive to our needs. She remained calm and present when we encountered some hiccups during our dining experience. The blueberry lemon cornbread was really tasty. I just found myself wishing for a bit more lemon. A little lemon zest in the batter, lemon-infused butter or compote on the side could've really taken it to the next level. Still, the overall flavor was solid. I left inspired to develop a recipe of my own. The million-dollar bacon had great flavor too, but it really needed to be crispier to live up to its name. Unfortunately, things took a turn when our entrées arrived. My grits looked more like corn mash than actual grits. There's a big difference, grits should be smooth and creamy, but this was thick, dry, flavourless and hard to eat. The shrimp and sausage were well-seasoned and nicely cooked, but the texture of the grits really ruined the dish for me. I sent it back, hoping for better, and while the second version was slightly improved, it came back oily and even more bland. The shrimp and sausage were still fine, but now they were topped with burned onions. I honestly don't know how that made it past the kitchen. I couldn't help but wonder who's checking the plates before they go out. Why was there such inconsistency?! My friend had the Works omelette, and it started off well, but was also full of burned onions. At that point, we were just disappointed. Our server, Sarah, was kind and did her best, she let the manager know, and my friend received a gift card since most of her meal was left untouched. But when the bill came, we were still charged for it, which didn't sit right. They eventually took it off, but it was frustrating that the manager never came by the table, and that there didn't seem to be a standard practice for handling clearly flawed dishes. We weren't expecting perfection, just a thoughtful meal and attention to detail. Sadly, that wasn't our experience, and we're not likely to return.

Went to First Watch for the first time this morning. I had the chicichanga, and my husband had the biscuits and gravy. We also shared the blueberry lemon cornbread. The blueberry lemon cornbread was very good especially with the whipped butter. I had a mint chocolate iced coffee that was not very good. It tasted mainly of whole milk and mint. I didn't taste any coffee or chocolate. The chicichanga was okay at best. It was a bit spicy a which is fine but no other flavors stood out. My husband ordered his meal with scrambled eggs but there was very little eggs that I could see. The hostess was nice and sat us right away. The waitress was fine, nothing to note there. We ate inside at a small table. The place was clean and organized. They had a bar ... not sure that's necessary for a brunch spot. Everything was fine but will probably not return as there are better brunch places in the area.

Was looking for a nice new place for brunch and my friend suggested we try First Watch. It did not disappoint! It was so delicious! Service was good too nothing extraordinary, but the server was nice and friendly. We waited for a few minutes to get seated. While waiting they also have a coffee station where you could make yourself a small cup of coffee which I thought was very nice! We ordered: Purple Haze and Pineapple Express for our drinks and both were so refreshing. Then for food we got: SoCal bfast hash and Wild Berry lavender ft both were very very delicious. I would definitely want to come back and try more!

This place is always packed, so do yourself a favor--hop on the online queue before you roll up! I've been to quite a few locations in the south, specifically in Florida and as a New Englander I'm stokedd that there's one local now. Happy to say- my time at this location was fabulous. Our server was so kind, the vibe was lively and the food? Perfect. Unfortunately there was a reoccurring problem with the food at the table next to us so there was a lot of visits from the staff there, but my family and I had no problem. Food was delicious- cooked to perfection, and the Purple Haze drink is to die for I'm so obsessed.

I went with a friend for lunch yesterday (Thursday), and after trying pretty much all of the major restaurants in the Hingham/JNorwell/Cohasset area, this restaurant was clearly at the top of my list. We were served the Wagyu Beef Sliders and the Bacon & Carmelized Onion Arancini for appetizers, and the Pulitzer Short Rib Burger and Norwell Hot Chicken Sandwich for entrees. I say that we were "served" those things because we actually ordered the Bavarian Pretzels and not the Wagyu Beef Sliders, but because the sliders were so delicious, we figured that we'll try the pretzels on the next go around. All four of our dishes were absolutely fantastic. The sliders and arancini were absolutely top-notch. I've had so many average arancini that I forgot what it's like when cooked at a high-level. It's as good as any I've had anywhere. And the Pulitzer Burger is now my favorite burger ever. Just the right amount of char on the outside with the inside a perfect medium. The chicken was moist with fantastic seasoning. The unexpected surprise were the fries. The fries here are outstanding. And they achieve something that I've never seen anywhere else: their fries are "pillowy". They are crispy on the outside, but the inside is remarkably moist and fluffy. I'd have to categorize these as steak fries, but steak fries are usually a bit denser. Service was terrific, and the decor of the place is not "dated", as another reviewer commented. The place was clearly built to give off a classic and intimate vibe. I didn't try any of the fish offerings this time, but I plan on returning and checking them out. It blows my mind that I never heard of this place until a few days ago.

Unfortunately, the service felt rushed and somewhat impersonal. Our waitress was responsive when she was at the table, but she tended to disappear for long periods of time. As for the food, it was honestly just average. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and I'm sad to report it was a disappointment. The hollandaise was cold, the eggs were over-poached, the English muffin only was toasted on one side and the hash browns lacked flavor. Even the coffee I ordered with my meal arrived lukewarm. Surprisingly, the best part of the experience was the Bloody Mary I had at the start of the meal. Maybe the the food would be better during lunch or dinner service. I might give them another try in the future and hope for a better experience.

I have been here many times over the years with many different people, friends and family and it is fairly consistently wonderful. I don't recall having a bad meal here ever. It is especially nice in the winter when the fire is roaring and we have a toasty drink to make everything extra cozy. However, it is equally pleasant in May! My sister and I shared several appetizers, which together constituted a delicious meal for each of us. We ordered an appetizer called Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Ribs that came with four very meaty flavorful ribs. We ordered two separate sides of the delicious mashed potatoes that they serve at this establishment. We also ordered one very large crab cake appetizer we ate the crabcake first. We then placed the ribs on top of the mashed potatoes with a couple of the delicious pickles that were served with the ribs. It was absolutely scrumptious. See the photo! For dessert, I ordered a flourless Flourless Chocolate Cake with crumbled peanut brittle served with a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. The cake was moist and delicious with almost a rich pudding consistency inside it contrasted amazingly well with a flavorful crunchy topping of peanut brittle and a smooth cold refreshing mound of ice cream. In a word this dessert was as maddeningly delicious as it sounds. Highly recommend!
