Every single time I pick up a chicken and right rice order, they either never include the side pita, the salad dressing, or the arugula (which is half of the whole bowl). And when I try to get an employee's attention, they act like I'm being a Karen or being picky about wanting what came with my order. It's such a weird thing to experience, feeling almost apologetic for just wanting what I paid for. The kitchen floor is also usually littered with food scraps and it really seems like some of the people working there are a little disinterested in what they're doing. Which I can totally understand, having worked in the service industry for minimum wage before, but like... As much as I hate to reduce experiences to cliches, flavors explode at CAVA. If this were a full service restaurant, it'd be a four-star meal - which is really telling, because the caliber of menu is solid on its own - but the fact that you're getting this lunch gift from a fast casual joint bumps it up to five in its class. Greens and grains bowl pairs the dark leafy that are sweeping the nation (and your colon) with your choice of saffron or brown basmati rice, or black lentils, to serve as a base for proteins, toppings and dips, spreads and sauces. I tend to get analysis paralysis at spots that don't offer some pre-fix option, but I shot from the hip at CAVA's exclusively build-your-own approach and couldn't be happier: spicy lamb meatballs with tzatziki, crazy feta and a surprisingly potent harissa. Scoop a little cucumber/tomato salad, pickled onion, cauliflower tabbouleh and pita crisps under a drizzle of lemon herb tahini dressing and I'm blabbering like Guy Fieri about flavortown or something. Food tastes great. Customer service and environment is poor. I had stoped coming here for a while because line employees are not well trained regarding the food. They can't answer questions and are not friendly. I thought I'd give it a try. I thought I be safe ordering a pre-designed bowl. They didn't make put all of the advertised ingredients in it. I had to remind them. They did t tell me we they were out an an ingredient until the very end ... which is why o ordered it. Ugh. Clearly management has no room to train employees and and employees are expected to just push customers through with no attention to detail. Too bad. The good is pretty good. Also, they has raw red meat just sitting out uncovered in a common workspace for the 20 minutes I was there which was really weird. read more

Very yummy! Got lunch here the other day. This is a perfect location for a restaurant in the Derby Street Shoppes. If you're trekking to bgood for the fifth time this week, take a look inside cava where you'll find fresh Mediterranean bowls. I started with spinach and added rice (the rice was so yummy with the cilantro in it). I then got chicken for my meat. For toppings I added just about everything. Corn, avocado, cauliflower rice, tomatoes, and then for dressing I got the first one I saw on the menu because I didn't know there were so many!!! You can make so many different combos of meals. My boyfriend gets a spicy bowl and mine was more sweet. I love the choice and the set up of this place. It's similar to chipotle but the food seems so much more fresh. read more

A little spicy (coming from someone who's incredibly sensitive) spice is definitely avoidable. I don't think you can order anything that wouldn't go together. The garlic sauce was amazing. The falafel were nice and crispy. A heavy, but SO healthy dish, the tomatoes helped make it a little lighter. The staff was as friendly as to be expected from someone working in food/customer service. The smile from the cashier went a long way. The food initially sounded expensive at just over $10 for lunch, but it was easy to see that the quality, quantity, and healthiness of the choices made this stop very worthwhile. The absolute rudest staff I have ever encountered. We watched an employee (who was clearly new and needed help) get made fun of and treated poorly by her coworkers. It was extremely hard to watch as they bullied this poor girl in front of everyone. Despite her asking for help, they left her to figure it out by herself. As an employee in Derby street shoppes, Cava is one of the few close options for meal breaks, easily order once or twice a week via the online ordering for pickup, That being said their production of online orders is lacking, I don't complain as none of the "mistakes" are ever on items that are "paid" and always conveniently on the free addons, however while I order the same items every time, I never get the same meal, they either ignore the added toppings or only give single portions when you select a double On multiple occasions however I have had to approach staff because they AWLAYS l forget" to include anything pita related whether it's the free side or the paid chips. read more

I love creating my own bowl (the harissa honey chicken is so tasty) though the chef curated bowls are great too especially if you happen to be counting calories. First thing first, the food was great and very flavorful. I did read some past reviews before posting this and I do agree that the customer service needs improvement. In line ordering I witnessed bickering between coworkers and a general loathing of being there by one person in particular. At checkout, it was rushed and we had asked to get a pita bread and the cashier psychically pouted as he went to grab the bread. Tried Cava for the first time and enjoyed the food! Normally I'm not much of a salad person but you can definitely taste the freshness of the food. For protein I got the falafel meatballs and braised lamb. Really tender and almost was like pulled pork. I especially loved the sriracha sauce, I forgot what else they mixed it with but it was really delicious. I knocked off a star because I told them it was my first time here but they didn't seem to care. This review is based off the handful of times I've gotten food/been here. The first couple times I got food here was through DoorDash. Food was always amazing but little things like the pita or a side dressing missing. The final time through DoorDash was strange. I had put my order in and CAVA confirmed the order. I had a dasher at the restaurant when they canceled my order (30 mins after getting the confirmation) saying the place was closed, when it wasn't. Fine. DoorDash can be a pain and there different things at play. The last time I ordered here was through their own website and pick up in store. Food was good but not as much when I had ordered through DoorDash. Remembered the side pita this time but it was incredibly tiny, bite sized even. (Not what I was used to through DoorDash when I did get the item.) The overall atmosphere in CAVA was a little unfriendly. I had never been inside and I stood at the pick up window for a minute before realizing the preordered food was somewhere else. No one offered help or even noticed I was there.
