This review is based off the handful of times I've gotten food/been here. The first couple times I got food here was through DoorDash. Food was always amazing but little things like the pita or a side dressing missing. The final time through DoorDash was strange. I had put my order in and CAVA confirmed the order. I had a dasher at the restaurant when they canceled my order (30 mins after getting the confirmation) saying the place was closed, when it wasn't. Fine. DoorDash can be a pain and there different things at play. The last time I ordered here was through their own website and pick up in store. Food was good but not as much when I had ordered through DoorDash. Remembered the side pita this time but it was incredibly tiny, bite sized even. (Not what I was used to through DoorDash when I did get the item.) The overall atmosphere in CAVA was a little unfriendly. I had never been inside and I stood at the pick up window for a minute before realizing the preordered food was somewhere else. No one offered help or even noticed I was there. Great place to grab a quick, healthy lunch at Derby Street. The counter staff helped me choose vegan options easily and were very friendly. I thought the falafel were very good. Yes, a little dry but not a big deal when you have hummus on the side. I liked how they had whole chickpeas in them. The watermelon mint fountain drink was very good. read more

Let me start with I adore Cava. I've brought tons of friends and family there to share the amazing food. The last 3 times I've been there have been very bad. I always order the black lentils in my dishes, they compliment my dish. The last 3, yes 3 times the black lentils have been like Little Rock's in my dish. It ruins the whole thing. I don't know if it's just a Derby street thing where they no longer know how to cook them, or if it's a company wide thing. My advice don't get the black lentils. I'm not sure if I will go back, I love them so much, but 3 times, that's bad. Maybe it's a new chef, a rushed kitchen or a new bean but please Cava, bring your game back up to awesome. read more

Food was tasty, but the coworkers behaved like zoo animals. Screaming, running around, dancing. One girl was literally FaceTiming her boyfriend while working. There was no soap or toilet paper in the women's room, which is foul considering these people are touching your food. The trash was literally overflowing and there was crumbs all over the tables and floor. So unsanitary and gross. read more

Why have I not found this place sooner? I tried this for the first time in the Fenway location after a Red Sox game and immediately craved it again the next day so I had to stop by this location since it's closer to home. I am so glad I came to this location because it's somehow $2 cheaper than the one I went to in Fenway (not sure how because I literally ordered the same exact thing with the same soft drink). This location even gave out free pita bread on the side! The only downfall is that they didn't give enough rice and meat compared to the one in Fenway. With my chicken rice bowl, I had the tzatziki (white colored yogurt dip), crazy feta, and harissa (spicy). The only one I liked out of those three is the tzatziki. It's a similar, healthier, and more tasteful option to sour cream. I heard great reviews about the hummus and eggplant with pepper so I'll have to go back to try those other two dips. I love to get the tomatoes and cucumbers, diced cucumbers, tomatoes and onions, quinoa, and shredded romaine lettuce as toppings. You can never have too many vegetables right? Went to this location for the first time today, the time before that was the location in Boston. Both times the food was excellent; quality and taste. I do believe a better business model for this company would be to set the food up as a "help yourself prepared food center", kind of like when you help yourself to the prepared food section at Whole Foods. The customer service at this location sucks and is nonexistent and the staff members are just as clueless about what they are offering as any new patron is. Honestly, I'd rather make my own bowl, weigh it, and pay; I don't need some person with a puss face mumbling to me and unable to answer any questions. Great Food! I would echo and verify what others have said regarding customer service. Every time I've been in here (4 times or so over the past 6 months) it's chaotic despite there usually being as many staff as customers. Employees are yelling at each other, randomly appearing and disappearing while your food makes its way down the line, not cleaning off tables, and packing things incorrectly (why bother to say "for here" when you're going to be given your pita in a messy wrap and bag that lets it drip all over the table?). There seems to be very little management attention and teamwork among the staff, I feel bad for the ones who are trying to do their job correctly when others are clearly not bothered. read more

This Cava is a great fast casual spot. The quality and quantity of food you get is amazing for the price. It's not as crowded as the other restaurants nearby at Derby St (i.e. Chipotle), so you get your food quickly. The staff are super friendly and helpful if you don't know what exactly you want. I always give bonus points for a place that does vegan right in some capacity. They had falafel which wasn't anything special but I loved that it was an option! I was pretty much able to add as many toppings as I wanted and mix and match the "spreads" and proteins which is a nice choice to have.
