My partner and I generally prefer Cava for its Mediterranean flavors over sweetgreen's salads, but nice to switch it up once in a while. We got a fish taco bowl and shroomami bowl - TASTE: 4/5 - enjoyed the fish taco bowl's lime cilantro vinaigrette and avocado half. My shroomami bowl's miso sesame ginger sauce was also tasty TEXTURE: 4/5 - the miso-glazed salmon was dry sadly, but my salad was particularly nice in texture w its variety of roasted tofu, beefy portobello mushrooms, crunchy cucumbers, roasted almonds, and shredded kale PRICE: 4/5 - on par w places like Cava, Dig, etc. Our total came to $31 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - good enough portion for me, but again I prefer Cava for its heartier bowls SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 5:30pm on a Saturday and the space was almost filled. Ordered at the self-serve kiosks and got our food 10min later ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - bright new space. I do not recommend visiting this Sweetgreen if you care about value or quality. The experience has become completely automated -- you order from a kiosk, and your food is prepared without any human interaction. While this might be efficient, it comes at a real cost: portions are noticeably smaller, and the personal touch that used to make Sweetgreen feel fresh and custom is gone. Every ingredient is now measured to the ounce -- from the chicken to the apples and sweet potatoes -- which results in a skimpy bowl that feels more like a formula than a meal. The portions, especially the protein, are significantly less than what you get when ordering in person at other locations. There is no ambience. Because there are no people here. Lol you just have people working behind the counter with no enthusiasm. It's clear that this new model is about cutting costs, not improving the customer experience. It's disappointing to see Sweetgreen take this route, and unfortunately, I won't be returning to this location despite living in Hingham. read more

I stopped in at the Sweetgreen at the Derby Street Shops in Hingham recently. I stop at Sweetgreen occasionally for their healthy salad and grain bowls, as they are actively opening new locations in the region. I placed an online order for a special Super Green Goddess Salad ($10.65 plus tax), which most bowls in the about $11-$16 range. I stopped by mid-afternoon, when they were not getting crushed. My salad bowl was already on the shelf to be picked up when I arrived. This store has touchscreen ordering and inside table seating near the counter. I made a few substitutions to their Super Green Goddess Bowl for a customized experience. This bowl had romaine (sub out kale), baby spinach, roasted sweet potatoes, spicy broccoli, cucumber (sub out cabbage), roasted almonds, chickpeas, carrots, slice of requested bread (free) and a cup of green goddess ranch dressing. The bowl portion of ingredients was good here and tasted very fresh at the Hingham location. I am crossing my fingers when the Bedford NH location opens this week near my home and hoping the freshness of ingridients and portions sizes there are appropriate. The Salem NH location has let me down a few times and skimped on the ingredients. read more

We've been long-time Sweetgreen customers and have visited many of your locations. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and satisfying -- we've truly never been disappointed... until now. We were excited when the Derby location opened because it's close to home. However, our recent visit was incredibly disappointing. First, this location uses self-service kiosks, which removes the ability to watch salads being made -- something we've always appreciated at other locations. There was no sense of presentation in the salad, and the overall experience felt impersonal. Staff behind the counter were chatting and laughing instead of focusing on customer service -- it came across as unprofessional. The quality of the food was far below Sweetgreen's usual standards: Small portions and barely any toppings Undercooked chicken Unmixed salads White rice that was hard and undercooked Green Goddess dressing that tasted completely off And worst of all, I found a wood chip in my taco salad -- this was shocking and completely unacceptable. This experience was not only disappointing but also concerning from a food safety perspective. We won't be returning to this location, and it's honestly made us question the consistency of the brand overall. read more

I genuinely wanted to like this sweetgreen location, because the one in boston is so good. I have got a bowl from here 4 different times, and every time has deadass been the worst food I have ever tasted in my life. Whenever you get a bowl it will 100% of the time be less then half full. I ordered apples and parmesan, and I deadass open this bowl to see 4 SINGULAR pieces of an apple, and maybe 3 slivers of parm, which btw is an extra $2 change. Like seriously I have never come here and been satisfied, every bowl is prepared without care, you will never get what you actually want, and taste like shit, especially crazy considering it is $16 dollars. It is so awful I don't even finish my bowl because I would rather waste $16 then finish my food. please just go to cava across the street and you will actually get what you want 100% of the time. read more

I have been a sweet green fan and customer for years ! I have dined in almost every location in the Boston. The location at Derby street is disgusting! It is a true embarrassment to the Sweet Green name. I have tried so many times to give them a chance. They dump the ingredients in without any care - the salads I have received lately are a large percentage of just greens very light on any toppings. The other lettuces are not fresh. The kale here is gritty and is definitely not washed or prepared properly. I took a bite full of sand and dirt. They don't mix the dressing when it is ordered that way and they don't give bread out most of the time even if you ordered maybe hoping you don't notice ? I was concerned after reading reviews but pleased after my recent visit to the Hingham location. Pre-ordered online with customized changes. Our order was ready and accurate when we arrived. The serving sizes were hearty. I even brought enough home for lunch the following day and the server pleasantly gave me an extra dressing to go with it. read more

Went to this new location and was surprised to see it is self service kiosks. The issue is that my salad was mainly greens and almost no toppings. And you can't watch them make it as they make it in the back and bring it to pickup area. So, it makes it easier for items to be left out. It was too expensive for what was basically a small bowl of lettuce. The gals behind the counter were laughing and chatting but not focused on the task of making a decent salad. Portion size was much smaller than other locations I have been to. Two tiny pieces of chicken, one half a cherry tomato and one tiny piece of avocado in the guacamole greens. I just tried out Sweetgreens for the first time. Strange, I see someone got sick. I had the complete opposite reaction. I felt like Superwoman after eating their salad. I have gone to other locations over the yrs and have loved Sweetgreens. Since the Derby St location opened, I have 2x ordered the crispy rice salad, siete chips, rice crispy treat and hibiscus tea. The crispy rice salad was small, didn't have much blackened chicken and the rice was not baked so it wasn't crispy which is the defining features of the entree! The dining room was dirty to boot. I know the store is new and I love the other locations but not sure I would go back as Cava has similar food and is consistent. read more

I came here recently and got a customizable bowl. A few hours after eating it, I felt very sick. I got the worst food poisoning I have ever experienced! I had a small breakfast earlier that morning and for lunch/dinner ate only this sweet green bowl so I know it was nothing else causing the excessive vomit/nausea. I have gone twice to Sweetgreen Derby St. Hingham...there is a lot to be desired. The first time I ordered the autumn harvest bowl and it had flavor, but the ingredients were just not fresh at all. Today I ordered the "caramelized steak" bowl and it was even worse than the harvest bowl. The steak was cold and plain, grisly, gross. The sweet potatoes and added brussel sprouts were so old they were shriveled and hardly distinguishable (looked like they had been reheated many, many times). Both times I have been there, the store is really dirty with food all over the counters and floor, while the workers are not helpful at all. I understand they are busy but some manager should be there to help others who do not know how to use the kiosk. While I was picking up my order there was an older man who asked to order and the kid pointed to the kiosk and said over there. The man asked if that was the only way to order and the kid said yup. The man walked out. It's not friendly, not welcoming at all. The store needs a manager on the floor at all times who is trained in management. read more
