You all know how I love breakfast! As you also know, I certainly have a preference for diners. However, this place, Tatte Bakery & Cafe, in Hingham, is definitely not a diner! It is lovely, upscale and fabulous. There is a wonderful spread of baked goods, including pastries, and muffins and donuts and cookies and tiramisu and meringue and cheesecake and more, that you can't help but see as soon as you walk in the door. There is a made to order car coffee bar from which you can choose your favorites. I ordered a delicious bacon, egg and cheese open faced breakfast on homemade sourdough bread. The bacon was very crispy, the cheese was cheddar (so you can't go wrong), and the eggs were cooked to my order which is always easy over. The eggs were therefore runny and creamy and warm. Absolutely delicious! Of course I ordered a fresh orange juice that came in a bottle, and as I mentioned, it tasted like it was fresh squeezed, but I don't know whether it was. I'll definitely be coming back. Everybody was very nice and they all had smiles on their faces when they serve you. read more

Tatte is always crowded but this time was pleasantly surprised to find some space. Had the Tahini Pumpkin Latte but didn't really find anything different about it. Although slightly overpriced, their pastries are always a nice treat. read more

A busy, cold & blustery Friday morning brought me in for coffee and a pastry. The counter person was just lovely, moving the line along gracefully and far more quickly than I expected. Taking a chocolate mousse and a tiramisu to go seemed the best choice since seats were full as far as I could see. All in all, after buying a gift card and the treats I was in and out in about five minutes, which if you know me, you know I like a speedy transaction! It was warm inside, people were obviously enjoying their food and the company of their friends, service was speedy and selections were almost undecideable! After finishing my trip to Derby Street two weeks before Christmas, I thought I most definitely deserved that perfectly delish chocolate mousse for lunch! Already have my next choice to try in mind - yum! read more

Coming home from Boston I felt like desert I heard they had opened a new one in Hingham @ Derby street shops. I like their pastries they are light and not too sweet.. it is comfortable inside and not too crowded. read more

Very cute bakery and cafe. It reminded me of someplace you'd go to in NYC. I ordered the broccolini and squash hummus pita. For a sandwich that appeared on the smaller size it was quite hardy. I could only eat 1/2. The reason for deducting a star was due to the broccolini in the sandwich. It was quite tough to eat and could have benefited from being cooked longer so that you could actually chew it. I also ordered a sour cherry cheese danish and an apple turnover to go. Both were fantastic. Service was fast and friendly. I will return again next time I am at Derby Street, but will try a different sandwich next time. Definitely give it a try! read more

I stopped by Tatte Bakery & Cafe at the Derby Street Shops in Hingham recently. This popular bakery & brunch cafe has several other locations in the Metro Boston area and the DMV. The place was very busy on a Sunday afternoon which a short line to order in person at the counter. They offer brunchy entrees & sandwiches, salads, soups, shakshuka, bowls, coffee/espresso & tea drinks, sodas, and a good selection of fresh bakery items. The place has table seating throughout to enjoy your brunch, baked goods, and beverages. While here, I ordered a Pear Tart ($7.50 plus tax), Cinnamon & Pecan Rose ($4.75 plus tax), and a Passionfruit Krembo ($7.50 plus tax) to bring home for desserts & snacks. I usually also get a hot drip coffee, but I was already all set with caffeine for the day. I enjoyed each of the treats for dessert and morning snacks at work. Their food is filling but light and very tasty. Such a great area to get some work done with plenty of natural light to come in and tasty pastries to snack on. Their lattes are unique and yummy! All affordable pricing compared to other cafes, would highly recommend coming in. read more

Classy breakfast/lunch/bakery spot! Blows the old Panera away (not even in the same category, although in the same location). All of the pastry we've had have been delicious: chocolate croissants, morning buns, etc. Their bacon, egg and cheese on croissant with avocado is amazing! Melts in your mouth good. A classic Tatte. Big location, lots of seating. Line moved quickly for ordering which is always lovely. Got the matcha lemonade which was refreshing. I love the new Tatte location at derby st!! I think it's perfect for the area and a great study/work break spot!! They have so many bakery items and desserts, but also have sandwich options and more! There's lots of space and areas to sit! It's bright and so cute inside! I will be going back to try some more! The service was quick and they bring your drinks to you! read more

Stopped for early dinner after dealing with traffic thru Boston. So glad we did everything was excellent including food, service, and it was very clean. My Lamb Hash was delicious, one the best hash dishes I eaten anywhere. The wife got Ham & Cheddar she loved her food also. I would definitely return when close this place. read more
