Empty éclair. - A hand holds a partially eaten pastry with a chocolate coating, revealing a layered interior. The background is blurred and dark.

Disappointing. Chocolate éclair, no filling, empty éclair shell with chocolate on outside. Also stale tasting blueberry cheesecake.

    Triple chocolate cake. Amazing.

I happily spotted the sign for Mia's while I was leaving Derby Street Shops, and I pulled into a spot right in front of the bakery.

This is a review for a delivery that was sent to me today for my birthday from my manager. I was…read morenot expecting the package and had no idea what was. Upon opening the box, to my surprise I discovered two small mason jars, very cute in appearance, filled with cupcakes. The packaging was very well done and the cupcakes shipped out in perfect condition, so I would recommend purchasing these as a gift to ship someone. The jars were packed in the box in individual cubby holes to prevent them from moving around during shipping. Not that there was much of a chance of that, that cake is stuffed into that jar, so there is not that much wiggle room in the jar for the cake to move around (win win if you ask me since there is more to eat). There was also a note from my manager with birthday wishes as well as a card from the business. I had no idea who the business was, but love the concept. I saw that the owners, Tracey Noonan and Danielle Vilagie, had been on Shark Tank and actually have a brick and mortar store at 342A Circuit St. Hanover, MA. The concept is a good one....definitely cuts down on messy frosting getting all over the place. And I love that there was more cake than frosting. I am that person that usually takes the bulk of the frosting off a cupcake before eating it. The way the ladies have set these up, there is frosting on the top of cake in the jar, but it was not overwhelming for me. My manager got two flavors for me: Cupid's Vanilla Confetti and Dark Chocolate White Chocolate Raspberry. I can only speak to the Vanilla one as I don't do raspberry (The Doctor and Queen will eat that one). But what I will say is that the Vanilla one was delish. The cake was very moist and the frosting was not overly sweet. I thought there was just right balance of cake and frosting in the jar overall. I checked out the website and saw some chocolate ones I would definitely want to order, so I think I will placing an order to try those. The Chocolate Lab jar sounds very good (chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache center, chocolate buttercream frosting) and so does the Chocolate Birthday cake one as well. Wicked Good Cupcakes offers several different boxes (birthday and "Thinking of You"). For the Thinking of You Box, you can choose between a 2, 4 or 6 pack that includes an Original Pura Vida bracelet. Each month they choose a different charity to receive $1.00 from each "Thinking of You" box sale. The box will also include a card signed by Tracey and Dani to let the receiver know that a donation was made. The Birthday Box has cupcake or pie jars, candles, assorted party favors and a special "Happy Birthday" greeting inside the box lid. Because these cupcakes are fresh, there is an expiration date of 7 days in which to eat them. Or you have the option of freezing them as well, but honestly I don't see that happening cause mine got eaten right away. So good luck with trying to freeze them if you order them. Ground shipping is only available for delivery dates and locations to which we can ship a package within 3 calendar days. Packages larger than a 2 packs that cannot arrive within 3 calendar days via UPS Ground can ship via UPS 3 Day Select Expedited shipping for a flat rate of $5.00. This was a nice discovery and so unexpected. While my manager hit the mark 50% on selection, this was 100% a great find.

After I saw Yelp friend Denyce M.'s review, first of all, I just knew by seeing the name of the…read moreplace that it had to be in MA---and I was right :D Then I thought to myself, "I have to try this". But first, we arranged to send some cupcakes to my grandkids and the family. I have to say the gift ordering was painless! In fact, I wish more companies made it this easy. It was a matter of giving the company an email address of the recipient, then paying for the gift. What the company then does is send an email to the recipient then tell them to pick which flavors they want plus when they want the package to get there. Plus, supply their address. We had let our son-in-law know that the email was on the way and he quickly pounced on it. The package came when they wanted it to come. I asked for feedback and they all really liked the cupcakes. Okay...good. Now, we'll order some for ourselves. We each got 2 apiece. I chose 1 birthday cake and one salted caramel. My husband chose 1 key lime and 1 whole lotta lemon. The cupcakes are sent overnight. If we wanted them on ice, that was an extra $15 but since summer wasn't here yet, we didn't get the ice. The cupcakes held up well. As for the flavors---the birthday cake was well flavored and moist. However, for me anyway, eating it in one sitting would have been too much. I put the leftovers in the fridge and ate them the next day. The salted caramel was a let down as I tasted no salt. At least, it wasn't overly sweet. My husband found the key lime to not have much flavoring. He didn't taste any lime until he got near the bottom. Also, he wished the lemon one had more flavor. While these cupcakes are pricey, remember that the shipping and handling is built into the price. The mother and daughter who founded the company appeared on Shark Tank. Kevin O'Leary (aka "Mr. Wonderful") bought into their company and gets 40 cents per cupcake sold. Their main office is in Hanover, MA but they opened up a spot in the Quincy Market in Boston. Kevin O'Leary was there to sell the 1 millionth cupcake. Here is a short video of the event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_o1IVnRZjE Would we order from them again? Yes, we're willing to give them another try. And, yes, we will send them as gifts to others again. They are quite unique and I'm curious to try some other flavors.

I'm back, again, to clarify. I wish I didn't have to leave a * to initiate a review but won't let…read moreme proceed without giving @ least 1 *. In response to Shironda W's (owner of Cupcake Therapy) she needs to take responsibility & update her forms or state the delivery policy under "Terms" on website. I was not aware (not stated on the website) the driver is not allowed to leave delivery with "random people" @ any hospital. When I instructed delivery be left with a specific floor (the cupcakes were for everyone working on that floor), I should have been contacted prior to delivery if a specific name of someone to accept delivery was required (I was not contacted). These cupcakes were not for a patient (certainly would be a very hungry patient) but for the nursing/administrative staff. Number listed on form was general number for Beth Israel Deaconess, yes, but again, if driver asked where Stoneman 5 was there would not be a problem. Again, read the information prior to delivery so driver can have any questions clarified & this problem could have been a non-issue & delivery could have been made on date & time it was promised. Clearly not the fault of the purchaser that there is a flaw in the design/content of the on-line order form. Having my contact number listed only under the billing that driver does not have, not my fault. Very easy to blame the customer (who will NEVER be a repeat customer) instead of taking responsibility for your mistake. Regarding not receiving a voice mail from me. I called when I saw an email (again no phone call) stating deliver was not made. Had you took the time to call me right after notified delivery could not be initiated, perhaps you would have done the right thing and returned that day with cupcakes while they were fresh. I called during business hours in hopes of speaking to a human being but no answer so left a VM. Very easy to put blame on customer & not take responsibility. Certainly makes me appreciate companies that do right when an issues arises. Do better for the next person!!!!!!

I was really excited to try this place! I ordered the dozen…read moreassorted cupcakes and chose a wide variety. The cupcakes are cute, but the taste wasn't the best. We tried the buttercream frosting and the cream cheese frosting. Buttercream frosting was a bit sweet, I preferred the cream cheese. We ordered for the day before the party and put the cupcakes in the fridge. Would recommend taking them out for about an hour so the frosting softens up. TBH the cupcakes were good for allergen friendly cupcakes but if you don't have any allergies then the cupcakes just don't compare to regular ones. I would consider ordering from them again if I needed allergen friendly cupcakes. Otherwise likely would not choose this bakery if I need regular old cupcakes. PS It is delivery only, no pick up option.
