OK if you have a craving or need a cake. It's pretty much the only bakery in Marshfield center. It's not a Montillios or Whites bakery for sure. Service and ambiance is above average. I'm sure people love it. I just personally enjoy Montillios. read more

Wow! Total let down. So many people told me Veronica's had the best bakery items, and specifically cupcakes, one the south shore for the last three years. Cute place. Everything looked great. Friendly service. Definitely on the pricey side: A small cupcake is $4.25, I think, and what is a pretty normal size elsewhere is $11. So anyway we were there to buy the best cupcakes! 0-4. What we were served were the driest cupcakes I've ever had. Tasted like 3x too much baking powder too. Very metallic is about the only way I can approximate this. Tried some cookies and just didn't enjoy them either. Best I can describe the cookie is a hard cake of hot cocoa powder. Didn't bother trying the other flavor. We were majorly disappointed. In my opinion, about every supermarket bakery cupcake and/or cookie is better. I'm sure there's some 'but we only use the highest quality ingredients...' spiel coming... I'm glad a ton of people get joy here and wish them well. Perhaps we had a bad every item day. Considering Veronica's has been around 30-years I hope it was a bad baking day. read more

We got cupcakes for my son's birthday and everyone at the party was raving about them! They were moist and delicious. We will definitely order again for any future baked goods needs :) also, bonus - excellent customer service! read more

Always loved Veronica's. Have ordered from them in the past and were very happy with them. However, the past few times I have been in there they were not very friendly. Seemed like I was bothering them. Had a special request for a cake today clerk said yes no problem. One of the I assume bakers behind her said no. Didn't offer any solutions on what I could do instead. Just said no. I said ok and walked out. I went to a different bakery and they were much more friendly and said no problem. I won't be back. Veronica's you need to work on your customer service. Maybe put a smile on your face or at least act like you want the business!!!!! Everyone has bad days but it has happened one too many times to me recently and I'm guessing to other people too!!!!! read more

Is a bit more $$ than other places, well maybe but what you are getting from Veronica's is so good you could almost say it's PRICELESS! Kudos to Lesley, MB , and whoever else is helping out. Outstanding quality and personal service -- that's why Veronica's Sweetcakes has been going strong for 30 years! They did our spectacular wedding cake 25 years ago, so we went back for a special anniversary cake. Not only was the cake a work of art and beauty, but it tasted delicious! Veronica's even opened up for us on a day when it was closed so that the large sheet cake could be stored safely in its refrigerator. Thank you for making our 25 years together extra sweet and memorable!!! read more

Veronica's Sweetcakes - a wedding cake with purple and white flowers - Custom Cakes Near Me - Marshfield, Massachusetts

Delicious goodies and beautifully decorated cakes. Friendly staff and very clean inside.

Wedding Tasting, #2: I was jazzed about Veronica's. That shiny DITR, so appreciated by locals, underso by those not from the area. A tucked-away storefront on an otherwise sterile strip mall, it's easily found by the steady stream of cars parking in front - the oasis to a deserted parking lot. And the front room/bakery case offered such high potential, with beautiful cake designs and the showmanship of cover photo quality. We mentioned we were there for the tasting, and we were asked if we could wait a few. That was the point when the excitement started to fade. We were pointed to the room 10 minutes late, and nobody greeted us for another 10-15 minutes. We killed time by looking through catalogs. When a staffer popped in, it was to bring us two waters and a pre-selected plate of four pieces of cake: two vanilla with thickly piped, white frosting, and two chocolate, treated the same. No questions asked. The tray was set, and she left, assuring us she'd be back in a few. We tried the cake and found the flavors to be average, and the consistency okay, if a little dry. The frosting overwhelmed the ratio, but it wasn't cloyingly sweet, which was a plus. Ultimately, we had about two bites from each piece, and waited again. Another 1- minutes passed, and the staffer returned, ready to quote price, which exceeded Party Favors (and ultimately, our next stop - Baked) by a wide margin. Ultimately, I didn't find the attention to answering questions, or entertaining creative options to be of any concern to Veronica's. It was the catalog or bust, and for such a basic offering set, it came across oddly inflexible. Feeling about as thrilled as a pair who just sat through a timeshare presentation, we checked the box and honestly didn't give them another thought. I will say, their decoration is stunning. If we wanted a more ornate cake, the curb appeal here is bar none. For a simple topper with a focus on classic, intense flavor, I'd suggest elsewhere. read more

Veronica's Sweetcakes - Get married. It means cake tastings. - Custom Cakes Near Me - Marshfield, Massachusetts

I have been a fan of Veronica's Sweetcakes for a very long time. Their cookies are wonderful. For every holiday or important event, like Halloween or the Superbowl, they create large creative and colorful frosted sugar cookies pertaining to the event. I recommend getting some of these for any superbowl party. They also bake many other kinds of cookies: their almond bars are both elegant and yummy. Although their artistry is a big part of their business, they also have the most delicious cakes around. They have a variety of cakes. The carrot cake is great, as are the mousse cakes, the strawberry cream cakes, and the lemon cake with fruit filling. For an event, you can order any of their cupcakes in miniature. This is good for a crowd because it's easy to walk by and pick up a few mini-cupcakes, then come back for a larger cupcake in your favorite flavor. Whenever I go into Veronica's, I place my order and they box it for me to carry out. Then I say, "I'll take a kitchen sink for the road". The kitchen sink cookie has everything but the kitchen sink in it and on it. They put one in a tiny bag and I eat it on the way home - delish! read more

I love their sweet treats. They use quality ingredients and their designs are amazing!

If you want the softest and most flavorful cupcakes- look no further! When I tell you I shed a tear the first time I took a bite of Veronica's Sweetcakes, the vanilla frosting made me see heaven. The staff is friendly, and the have a wide range of flavors, including a few gluten free options so yay for inclusion. Don't walk, RUN they often have a line on the weekends. read more

Sweet! I just had to share that this was a LivingSocial offer that I purchased while on vacation in the East Coast. Although, the drive there to Marshfield MA was quite a ways from visiting Brown University in Providence the cookies were delicious! Luckily, my hubby loves driving and we had enough cookies and sweets to last us for the rest of our vacation and satisfied our craving for sweets! The shop offered a variety of cookies, cupcakes, dessert cakes, pastries, etc (I can't remember the others) and the gals behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. Review #0059 read more

This inconspicuous bakery is a busy place because the word is out how fabulous the treats are! I think I have possibly tried everything in the shop. All desserts have been delicious. Veronicas made our Wedding Cake planning so easy! They stayed in touch with me along the way to make sure the cake was delivered at the right time depending on the heat & the timing of events, etc. When I took my first look at it I was SO happy at how it looked and fit my decor & expectation! It literally was the most delicious cake I had ever had, so I had 2 pieces that day! We also did NOT wait a year to eat the top. We look forward to our next time ordering from Veronicas! Great job w our my sons dinosaur bday cake, really great artwork and good cake. Thanks!

Everything they make not only looks amazing but it tastes amazing! Staff is friendly and very helpful!

We had our wedding at a restaurant in Cohasset which uses Veronica's as one of their preferred bakers. To be honest, they were our 3rd choice at first, simply because the other 2 offered were big name bakeries in the area. Well, let me say that both of those bakeries fell VERY short either in taste or in service, and we ended up with Veronica's by default. I'm so happy that we did. Our wedding colors were navy blue an white and we really wanted navy blue buttercream on one tier and then the other two white with navy scrolling. One of the big name bakeries told us that they would only do that color if we signed a waver! Veronica's didn't bat an eyelash-they just said it would be gorgeous and moved on. Now, the cake that I wanted was from a random picture I found on some random website. It was pretty detailed and I wanted it to be exactly the same. I am someone who makes cakes myself, so I'm very particular. The sample cakes in the bakery don't look finished. So, to make sure it was right, I stressed that I REALLY wanted the buttercream to be very, very smooth and that I wanted the piping exactly as show, but in our colors. They really came through with flying colors, and the cake was DELICIOUS! We highly recommend their deep chocolate cake. Yum! read more

We got a cake here for my nieces christening - it was gorgeous and absolutely delicious. Many people took pics of it - and then once they tasted it - they had to know where it was from Delicious frosting and moist cake We did vanilla buttercream with a mix of chocolate and vanilla cake This will be our cake spot moving forward- so excited (we just moved to the south shore) *another amazing cake by Veronica's! This one for my niece who turned two. They create a practically identical version of my nieces puppy, Daisy on the cake. It was amazing. And the cake was marble with choco frosting and delicious. Ran to grab a cake here yesterday for my fiancé's birthday while I was at a friend's house down the street. I'd heard great things and was excited to give it a try! The place is super cute inside, and it's located in an unassuming location. All of the treats are adorable and creative! The people who work here were lovely and wrote a quick message on the cake for me. My only complaint is that the frosting was way too sweet. This is coming from a girl who LOVES buttercream frosting, and it's usually my favorite part of the cake. I had a tiny piece and that was more than enough for me. I left the cake at my friend's house rather than taking the rest home because I knew I wouldn't want to eat the rest. If they just made the frosting slightly less sweet I would totally try this place again. read more

Never had a better wedding cake! We went for a tasting in January 2020 and fell in love with all their flavors! Marybeth (MB) was so personable and helped to put our vision into reality! We didn't really know what we wanted but she helped us figure it and make cost effective decisions. Due to Covid, we did not get our dream wedding or need a cake to feed 200 people but MB worked with us in the weeks leading up to our small backyard June Wedding to make sure we had exactly what we needed. She did not try to hustle us and allowed us to change our initial order. Needless to say the lemon raspberry cake is AMAZING and individually wrapped vanilla cupcakes were a huge hit to keep things safe. Veronica's Sweetcakes is FANTASTIC. The staff is unmatched - incredibly friendly, helpful, accommodating, and just so kind. They recently helped me with a gluten free/dairy free cake tasting for my upcoming wedding. It's so hard to find a cake that meets those dietary needs while not tasting like dry sand... but their samples were delicious and baked with such care! The team was great with offering suggestions, design options, and planning considerations for delivering the cake during our session. I can't say enough positive things about this bakery and its staff! If you need a DF/GF or otherwise allergy-friendly cake (that actually tastes good!), definitely try them. read more
