Who doesn't love a cupcake!…read more Maine Girl Cupcakes opened a very small storefront shop in Natick Center offering 100 signature cupcakes and custom made cakes by special order. Also, they have a limited amount of cupcakes for walk-in customers with around 12 kinds of cupcakes on hand, so they are open until they sell out on the weekend. The pricing (in 2022) for each signature cupcake is $5.50 each, $20 for 4, $27 for 6 and $48 for 12. I stopped by Maine Girl Cupcakes at opening time and there was a line crammed into the very small shop. I picked out 6 cupcakes to enjoy back at my home which is halfway to Maine, lol. I got: Orono Oreo (cookies-n-creme cupcake, cookies-n-creme buttercream, cookies-n-creme candy bar, chocolate covered Oreo) Camper (chocolate cupcake, marshmallow buttercream, graham cracker crumbs, chocolate drizzle, marshmallows ganache, miniature chocolate bar) Cozy Cocoa (chocolate cupcake, hot cocoa buttercream, chocolate ganache drizzle, marshmallow bits) Southern Belle (red velvet cupcake, cream cheese buttercream) Best Friend's Friend (chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream, chocolate ganache drizzle, chocolate sprinkles) PB Party (chocolate cupcake with peanut butter buttercream, chocolate ganache drizzle, & mini PB cup). The texture of each cupcake was very moist and dense and buttercream frostings and toppings were sweet, but not too sweet. Just on the overwhelming demand for cupcakes, another customer suggested a bigger shop is definitely needed. Maine Girl Cupcakes are definitely wildly popular here in Metrowest!

We can't say enough good things about our experience with Milly Ramsey. She responds quickly to emails, respects customers and those being honored with her cake, and asks all the right questions. A first-rate professional. My mom is a retired university professor, and also a dealer of rare books. Milly created a cake with two extremely realistic books as its base. If you looked at the edges, you could even see the appearance of individual pages! Gold decorated the bindings, which had the appearance of rich leather. We told Milly that mom had hand-made several quilts. Milly requested some photos, and then created a faithful miniature replica of a quilt mom had made for my brother, draping this decorative element artfully over the books. As a final touch, the writing on the cake was presented on a replica of an old-fashioned library book withdrawal sheet! AND everything was not only edible, but mouthwateringly delicious. This was not just an "all show" cake! It looked AND tasted superb, and everyone raved. Some guests even asked me for Milly's contact info... that's how impressive this cake was.

After the first cake for one of our kids, I got cake design wishes from our other two kids. The design for this cake from the 4 year old was quite imaginative and I was looking forward to see how Elina would interpret it into a more "luxe" version of the 4 year old's mind :) Elina put a lot of effort into providing options from which to select the final design. The result - a happy green-loving, frog-loving now 5 year old who was smiles from ear to ear upon seeing the cake. She absolutely loved the marshmallow surprise inside the chocolate balls. The cake was chocolate raspberry and the flavor - WOW! I couldn't get enough of the raspberry jam. Soooo good!

There were some new items on top of the delicious muffin options, pastries, cupcakes, and cookies. The feta pie looks divine and is a very generous portion. They make a good cup of coffee as well and I ADORE their breakfast sandwiches. Together, they are the perfect match. That being said, I also enjoyed the strawberry shortcake that was baked the morning of my pick up. The cake held up nicely during my drive on the highway to bring this to my friend's house 15 minutes away to celebrate and the cake tasted fresh of course! The price is extremely reasonable for the amount that you are getting, so I highly recommend this place when you want to pick up something special from the bakery. This is a small bakery, but there are two round tables by the window, so you can grab a quick bite and a coffee to people/car watch while you enjoy your lovingly baked goodies.

I looked around Yelp for gourmet cupcakes in the area and came across Little Feet Treats in Stow. Although the name threw me a little I contacted the proprietor and put in my order. There were a plethora of combinations to choose from as well as customizable options. I went for three dozen "simple" cupcakes (red velvet with buttercream, vanilla and chocolate (both with espresso buttercream). Paige (the woman who owns the business) was prompt to confirm my order, sent me an invoice via email later in the week and was very flexible when scheduling my pickup. I cannot, CANNOT, tell you how much people LOVED those cupcakes. I saved a few of them from the party to bring to a BBQ the next day and people were raving about them even a day later. More people talked about the cupcakes than the smoked and grilled meats! It's a bit of a hike (the business is near Honey Pot Hill Orchards) but you can't go wrong with these treats!
