Relaxing with my chai latte, alfajors, millionaire shortbread from Dulche D Leche. YUM!

A lovely cafe in the neighbourhood! It is conveniently located off Edgell/Rt.9 and I love to indulge in a delightful grab'n go treat when returning home! The millionaire's shortbread is my favorite, love the chai latte too! You're always greeted with a warm welcoming smile! (sandwiches are delish too! fig'n brie sandwich )

Love their gelatos and latte. The prices for the location and ambiance is on a higher side. The staff is friendly and helpful. Love their Dulce D Leche flavor and Hazelnut flavor gelato.

Should have taken pic before eaten...

Well, i visited the farmers market in Needham and Dulce leche was selling his products. The woman in front of me clearly knew his products and was asking for his quiches , pre made dinners lasagna . His croissants, blueberry, cheese danish. I saw his small pies and all looked excellent. I never seen or bought anything from them before. Well, the pecan pie was small and 8 bucks...I figured a nice shack with coffee. Well, I was wrong... easy the best pecan pie I've eaten. I was on way out door before lunch meeting and figured I grab a bite and leave... well, one bite then back to frig to eat the rest ....The pecans on top all top quality grade toasted pecans or whatever... Then the filling was totally ( valley girl totally) was outrageously good. It was not a small pie as filling was packed enough for 2-3 slices and thicker than it looked. Then the shortbread or buttered crust was dah bomb ( Boston description). I saved his label on container as now addicted and seeking another fix before next week's farmer's market and driving out to his store in Ashland @ 200Homer Ave. The chef, baker , owner clearly proud of his products as he was describing the ingredients as he was personally there at the farmers market on A Sunday. ... The quiches and other pies in my list now... the breads looked outstanding... I can't go back to Table talk pecan pies or any other pecan pies now... the pie was legal pecan crack and I'm am addicted ... I recommend his products and the owner a nice guy too.

Cake we are throwing out. Junk cake for $7/slice.

My partner and I stopped in for cake slices for my 40th birthday. Carrot cake and a leche cape - both were dry and stale. She decided to call the shop as for $15 for 2 slices - the cake should have been fresh and she wanted to know when they were made. The owner pretty much told her that the cake was fresh and they have enough business and don't need ours. Ok. Fine - passing it along - this owner does not care about all clientele - just the ones who give good feedback. Cake in trash. Owner needs a customer service lesson. Avoid. All the good reviews must be fake.

Dulce D Leche Gelato Cafe is about a year old and is located at a plaza on Edgell Road, a super short distance from Route 9. Gelato, chocolates, and pastries. Coffee, hot chocolate, and frozen drinks. They buy their croissant dough and fill and bake it themselves. From the gelato freezer, I sampled both the Dulce de Leche banana chocolate chip and their Dulce de Leche cheesecake and found them both yummy, but we ended up sharing a slice of the Dulce de Leche cake $6. We found it crumbly but not dry, not overly sweet.

Since 2011, they've created hand-made artisanal truffles, bark, and wrapped chocolates just twenty miles west of Boston. We saw them being promoted on a television news show, and since we both have a weakness for chocolate, decided to give their "Trio Nut Bark" a go. It came in a pretty boxed gift set with three different chocolate barks in generously portioned 3" X 3" squares. There were four squares of each of the three flavors for a total of twelve yummy squares. Here are the over-the-top descriptions from their website: 1) Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark sprinkled with delicate French grey sea salt 2) Creamy White Chocolate Bark with the satisfying crunch of green hued slightly sweet pistachios 3) Smooth Milk Chocolate Bark with the delightful crunch of roasted buttery Cashews So how did our $24.50 + shipping chocolates taste? The Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark was top notch. Excellent dark chocolate flavor, plenty of big almond pieces, and that light touch of sea salt really finished it off. The Creamy White Chocolate Bark was excellent, and I was impressed by the large amount of full-sized pistachio nuts in the square. The Milk Chocolate Bark was fantastic -smooth, creamy, and sweet with plenty of crushed cashews to boost up the taste and add to the texture. They were all so good, I really can't say I had a favorite. In summary, their chocolates are magnificent. BTW, their website advertises a very cool experience for ten or more - a Virtual Chocolate Tasting, with chocolate kits for your guests, a lesson on how chocolate is made, and chocolate tastings along each step of the process.

It took some time but they eventually expanded their space and got the bars back into production. I waited far too long to visit!! They taste amazing. To me, there are some minor differences in flavor to the original - the most notable being the caramel. It is now more noticeably salted however its thinner and tastes better quality than the Necco original. The vanilla section doesn't seem as strong in flavor as the original. However I believe the quality of the milk chocolate is better. I believe the pros outweigh the cons and its amazing they are even available!! This space is a combination production and retail space with a glass barrier leaving the customer full view of the process! There's also a bunch of swag for sale as well. In 1938 The Necco Candy Company an American Candy Company located in Boston introduced the world to The Sky Bar Candy Bar. It became extremely popular in its heyday as well as a fan favorite of the 60s, 70s, 80s generations. In 2018 The Necco Candy Company filed for bankruptcy & closed its doors. People were very sad & upset about the news - one of the oldest Candy companies in America was out of business. Well the name Sky Bar went up for Auction. Louise Mawhinney bought the name Sky Bar & it was Rescued. Louise also Rescued another company next door called Duck Soup a few years back. Well Louise thought that was it. Well as fate would have it Louise ended up meeting one of the former employees of Necco Jeff Green VP of Necco & he told her she could make the candy herself. Necco had old machines. This brand new small facility is totally high tech & produces FRESH Sky Bars. It is both a manufacturing facility & a retail store all in one in Mill Village in Sudbury MA. The Sky Bar has 4 sections each with a different filling Caramel, Vanilla, Peanut ( Teddie Peanut Butter another Boston company) & Fudge all covered in Milk Chocolate. They make a new batch every couple of days so they are probably the Best Sky Bars you have ever tasted - Fresh as can be. Every Saturday at 11 AM they make the Sky Bars & you can watch through the glass windows the whole candy making process for FREE. It's like a Giant 3D Printer. They also make them 2 or so times during the week at the 11 AM time slot as well. You can call & find out what days they are making the candy during the week that you are coming here. They also sell Merch with Sky Bar T Shirts & Baseball Caps. There is a vintage video of the old Necco candy making facility you can watch too. They even have a model train that circles the store. All the Sky Bars are stacked in the original Necco wooden crates which is So Cool! You can purchase the bars individually in the store for $1.98 each & you can also order a box of 24 online. They also sell a lot of other Retro Candy & Merch in here too. There is Free Parking in the back. I talked to one of the employees in here & they told me people have driven 2 & 1/2 hours just to come here & buy their favorite candy bar Sky Bar that they thought was gone forever & said it was totally worth the trip! Dave's is a lot like Raising Cane's, but with the ability to customize the spice level of the chicken. I opted for Dave's #3 ($13.99) so I could try both a slider and a solo tender. The pieces of chicken were very good. They had a nice exterior crisp covered in a flavorful heat, with a juicy, tender, pull apart inside. While I preferred the sandwich, it definitely could have used more slaw. As far as portions...for me, two sliders is likely too much, but I think I'd be unsatisfied with one, so the #3 was a good option. Similar to Cane's, the fries are crinkle cut. I prefer the dusting of seasoning on the Dave's fries, as I find Cane's to be overly salty. I do wish they had more options for sides...for instance, a nice refreshing cucumber salad, potato salad, cold bean salad, etc. would be great with that chicken. I happily dipped my extra tender and fries in the Dave's side sauce...no need for ketchup, though they do offer it. Interestingly, a new Raising Cane's is scheduled to open right around the corner from Dave's...bring on the chicken wars...I'm rooting for you Dave!
