At noon today I went to mad Willie's on da 24th of July Thursday only with my wife, I'm an amigo and this was very mid and average, it melted because it took too long to order and I had gases in my fat blubbery stomach and I had to wait until the car and then I did diarrhea and stunk up the whole car and it melted in my hands due to summer heat and the ice cream made my hands sticky and I couldn't drive . But my wife ate it quickly so it was fine and she enjoyed it so I'll give it a 2 star because of her but the wait and my farts and diarrhea and the ice cream was average and not worth going again so it was terrible experience for me, I've had better ice cream from my grandma and captain gutt and Flynn from the ice age. If you just want a quick bite that's okay this will do. Seriously the ice cream is fine but not top tier, anyways I'm on the toilet and have to fart all the gases from the burrito I ate with extra extra extra beans and I'm letting all the gelatinous freshly squeezed poop out. The owner is really nice and supports the local community. There's some seating indoors and out. Great place to stop after school, after dinner, and just when ever! It's a little dangerous because it's a close drive from my house and the service is always efficient. The workers are always friendly and helpful. You can tell it's a local favorite because there are always people eating ice cream outside no matter what time of day you stop by. The shop has been clean every time I've stopped in. My order here is always one scoop of vanilla on a waffle cone and it always hits the spot. Since I only get one scoop, the staff only charges me for the kiddie size. The other day, we were in the area and decided to swing by as a treat on the way home. The shop is cute but doesn't have a lot of seating; it's a small location. There's a lot of variety between the flavors and different offerings like hard scooped ice cream, milkshakes, toppings, sundaes, ice cream floats, & Italian ice. The portions are generous, too. I had the peanut butter Oreo and I thought it was creamy with the right amount of Oreo but a little light on the peanut butter flavor. My husband got the butter pecan and while it's his favorite flavor, said this particular one was one of the worst he's had. My toddler was sad there were little balls in her cotton candy (I didn't taste it so I'm not sure what it was). So overall, the trip here wasn't worth it for us. Maybe we would have liked it if we got different flavors but it's not worth the drive to find out. read more

Took our 3 1/2 year granddaughter yesterday in the early afternoon for a treat. There were so many delicious flavors to choose from! We sat on the stools facing the large window looking out at the front porch area and chatted while enjoying our ice cream cups. The gentleman at the counter who served us was quite pleasant and kind. He was so patient with us as my granddaughter decided on a flavor and even offered us a plastic cover for her cup of ice cream so we could bring home what she couldn't finish. The ice cream is good-it's Richardson's. I think I got some coffee chocolate ice cream mixed in with my health bar crunch. I couldn't figure out why it was off until I saw the tan color. Like the scoops weren't washed/rinsed between scoops. The place is small inside. The set up of the counter is weird. The kids were nice working there but of course on their phones constantly-I know it happens all the time now but it looks poor. The tables/chairs and floor were filthy with ice cream/mix ins and crumbs everywhere. Maybe a periodic while down would be good? read more

What a hidden gem in Framingham. I wish that I had tried it pre-COVID to get the full experience and spend more time scouting their menu. It appears that their frozen yogurt is out of a soft serve machine of some sort. It was extremely creamy, and soft, while being light in the stomach. I got a small for around $4 and it was a very reasonable size for the price (includes sprinkles added). I ordered their Coffee Heath froyo, and while not a ton of heath, there was a good amount where you weren't wondering where the rest was. Would certainly come back to try one of their (what seemed like) 40 froyo flavors, or their slush (tough to find slush spots these days). read more

I just got off a 5 hour shift and went to get ice cream. Went in they were nice asked me what I wanted then, I asked for the cake batter and orange cream soft serve. He asked me if I wanted them in separate cups or mixed together, I didn't think he actually meant mixed together so I got that. When I got it I was surprised and tasted it , it was not good . So I went back and asked him why couldn't they just make it side by side in one cup and he said we don't do that. No signs at alll. This is my 2nd time at Mad Willie's and it is only April! I love ice cream and love to have a treat 3 times a day with each meal if I could get away with it! This place is small and gets crowded fast but the line seems to move fairly quickly. Our first visit was on an unusually hot day in March...mid 70's calls for ice cream and today was beautiful after all the rain. I've had the Rum Raisin ice cream which was excellent. Lots of good flavor. I've had others that haven't had good flavor and not enough raisins. I would get this again. For portion control only I got the kiddie cup which was plenty. My girls also got kiddie cups and it was just the right size for them. Depending on the time you go I'd waiver between kiddie and small. There are many different flavors for ice cream, yogurt, frappes, Italian ice, and much more...see the pic of the menu board. It can be overwhelming. The coconut ice cream actually has coconut in it and my daughter loves it. There are only 3 small tables inside and a few seats at the window bench but there is additional seating outside at the picnic tables. Again not a lot of space but it works. I'll be slowly going through the menu to try everything out. I had the fat free sugar free peanut butter cup today. No this is not what I wanted but hey...July will be here soon and I want to be at the beach! Overall this satisfied my craving. It was sweet, had good flavor, small pieces of pb candies (also sugar free) mixed in but more on the icy side rather than on the creamy side but overall...not bad. Mad Willie's is like a local version of DQ where you get your soft serve fro yo with just about anything mixed in (a la Blizzard). What I like is that they offer a kiddie size which is just enough with the perfectly tart froyo base that they use. The hard ice cream is also good, but I feel like that's easier to find around town. read more

I wanted to buy two pints of ice cream but my car A/C wasn't working and I was concerned the ice cream would melt on my way home. They didn't have ice but they did give me an insulated bag that kept the ice cream from melting. They make some of the best Oreo ice cream I've had. i'm sure they make it themselves because it always tastes fresh and you can actually taste the Oreo cookie unlike some ice creams. -The atmosphere inside is small but there is an outdoor area with picnic tables. There isn't much of a view considering all you can really see is Route nine and Framingham State University. But still pleasant. -me and my friends are reoccurring customers and have been for the past three years. Very disappointed. It's 94 degrees, hot and humid, some thing cold was definitely a good idea. I asked the server if their yogurt mixed with cookie would be too soft? He assured me that it wouldn't be. I ordered frozen yogurt with nutter butter mixed in. They have a good idea with yogurt and mix ins. Unfortunately not the knowledge of making it right. It was like drinking soup! $6.41 thrown away. I even took it back to the young man complaining that this was just what I did not want, and that it's like a soup. He said sorry nothing he can do about it. My advise to the owner of this ice cream shop is to make sure your employees know how to do these mixes and have a better manner to deal with customers. It's really too bad, the place is cute and close by. I guess this is why they had no customers in such a hot day. read more

A little short on time, and seeking to keep things fairly simple, I stopped in here to grab a few hot dogs. And mighty fine dogs they turned out to be. The five minute wait was well worth it. The first bite, the snap of the dog, the toasted buttered roll. OMG, it was was oh so good. Plenty of ice cream choices including about a dozen sugar free soft serve flavors. I will definitely need to stop in again with my daughter for some frozen refreshments. There's a couple of picnic benches out front and about a half dozen inside. Staff wasn't exactly smiling, but was pleasant enough. I would have gone with four stars but the fact that on a lazy Tuesday afternoon, they had no onions for my dogs which is a big, big negative. read more

I use to love this place... they have seemed to go downhill really quickly. The kids working the counter were not attentive at all and not really polite either. Probably just a part time college gig for them but still to get and keep customers you have to put in at least a teeny tiny bit of effort. I am really big on cleanliness.. everything in the front of the place seems clean but as I was looking behind the counter it was disgusting... machines were dirty and seriously gross looking. If I had noticed this before ordering I would've walked out. I hope this place improves again because it use to be such a great place to go! read more
